I'm posting this mostly to just see if my gut feeling about this is off base, but I have 19 year old cat who moved in with me 3 months ago who over the past 1.5 years has lost a lot of weight and in appearance aged somewhat rapidly. He also stopped eating as much. His past owner brought him into the vet about a year ago and there was slight increased BUN/Creatine ratio indicating the beginnings of kidney disease. They then prescribed an appetite stimulant, he had only eaten dry food his entire life. Since taking him in I noticed his breath is really terrible, and that as soon as I switched him to wet food he started eating constantly and his appetite was very strong. I brought him into the vet for the breath and they opened his mouth and found that he has a potentially rotting tooth covered in buildup. They then basically went "ehhhh he's old" and sent us home with antibiotics and didn't recommend surgery. I brought him back to get blood testing for surgery, and was told "there's a vet here who refuses to do surgery on cats this old, and one who doesn't, so if you want surgery book with the vet who does." This wasn't really reassuring, and unfortunately when I received the updated bloodwork today, his BUN/creatine ratio has increased to 24.3, his INDEXX SDMA is 22, and his Cardiopet proBNP is 1,500 which I was told indicates kidney and heart disease. The vet didn't really say anything other than he can't have surgery? And so I asked if there were treatment options and if we should still give him his "pre-surgery" additonal dose antibiotics to help his tooth, and they said yes, and gave me Atenolol, KD food, and Azodyl. I understand he's an old cat, but I just am wondering if it is normal for the vet to just kinda push me away like that or if there should be more of a thorough investigation into these readings. I just want to make sure I am doing what's best for him, he's definitely slowed down a bit but overall he eats a lot, stays hydrated, and is very social/doesn't seem to have any noteable physical distress other than a bit of trouble getting up on things due to arthritis. Ultimately if this is all we can do to keep him comfortable that's okay, but it just sounds like a lot of what I'm perusing online would involve further reading into these things.

Just a small vent and seeking advice if anything but I got my tonsils removed in April. It was pretty smooth healing.
But I noticed my uvula stayed pretty swollen for 7 weeks after surgery then just never felt comfortable, it def hangs lower and I constantly feel like there’s something in my throat so I’m gonna seek a partial uvulectomy. I knew this was a risk from tonsillectomies but I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with a uvulectomy?
I’m not really worried about pain since i thugged the tonsillectomy lmao but I guess just wondering if anyone’s had this experience here.

Heya!
Since July, I've been on a weight loss journey and I've had good, consistent progress so far cutting calories and strength training 2x/week with a trainer.
However, this whole past month, my weight hasn't budged, despite being very consistent. Actually, it's been fluctuating up and down.
I was curious how tarot could help me reflect on what to do. I asked several questions:
Why is my weight loss stalling? Two of Pentacles, Eight of Cups, Devil
To find balance, there is something I'm doing excessively I need to leave behind. But I wracked my brain for what I could be doing, and I don't think there is. I'm eating at my deficit, working out, doing the basics.
What can I do to break through the plateau? Strength, Death, The Lovers
Strength train more to find further transformation?
What new things can I add to keep losing 1lb+ a week? Two of Pentacles, Death, The Empress
Two of Pentacles and Death again! Perhaps this could serve as a reminder that my weight is balancing out and I will see further change, stop freaking out? Or does 2oP echo that I've reached equilibrium (plateau) and I need to change. Very confusing.
I'm trying to meditate with these cards, but I'm honestly more confused.

So I just got a pc built it has i5-12400f and 1660 ti, to summarize my issue when playing Fortnite my pc randomly just closes as in all the fans shut off and opens again, like I loose display connection and then regain it my psu is 600 wats so I don't think that's the issue, and I don't know whether to call this a short down or a restart, as it's not shutting down but the pc stays on during a restart as in the system doesn't close the when I first got the pc first week I was playing 60 fps and I recently went to 180 could this be a reason I'm just very worried and need some help

Hi! I’m working on a comic and struggling with a specific character dynamic. One of my main characters, Rob, is meant to be part of the central friend group and have a redemption arc later on. However, in an early scene, he hurts another character, Lisa, who’s naive and tired of falling for toxic people.
Here’s what happens: • Rob flirts with Lisa, using lines like “Your eyes are as beautiful as the ocean.” Lisa takes it seriously and starts falling for him. • Later, she overhears him saying the exact same line to another girl. This devastates her, especially after a monologue about her bad history with relationships. • She runs to her best friend, Sam, crying about how she’s tired of always being hurt.
While this works to highlight Lisa’s vulnerability, it makes Rob seem irredeemably cruel—almost hateable. Since he’s meant to stick around and eventually grow into a better person, I’m worried readers won’t forgive him after this.
How can I tweak this scene to keep the emotional weight without making Rob irredeemable? Or is there another way I should handle this dynamic?

I understand it’s holiday hours and whatever blah blah blah, but even with that in mind waiting and hour + for an order is just absolutely ridiculous, waiting 30 + minutes for an order that is marked as READY is absolutely ridiculous,, seeing three loaders come out to load ONE order and then see only one of them really loading anything… absolutely NO ONE answering the phone when trying to call to speak to someone in that department is ridiculous…
I get that being a loader can be annoying but come on now when you’re not even hardly doing your job you need to be reported,, i’m assuming there are supervisors or team leads or something that oversees these loaders why aren’t they being held accountable..

 | I’m on my second PBC. Been using them for years. I just got a new Meater probe that I’m trying for the first time. The PBC temp seems to be staying right around 180-190 except for a period when I cracked the lid on the PBC. This is with straight Kingsford regular charcoal. It’s in the low 30s out, clear, and not much wind to speak of. I’m curious if this temp seems low to anyone else. I used to use a wired probe with my old PBC and it always was more in the 260-280 range. The old one was before they started the porcelain coating and the new one has it, if that makes a difference.
