2024.11.29 23:50 Welloup Why didnt the dark ones just leave the metro dwellers alone?

i just got finished with metro 2033 and im playing through last light. I understand that the dark ones arent necessarily evil, theyre just wanted to talk to the humans and what, help them? idk not that far to know the full picture yet but anyways. The dark ones are a fully sentient species born out of the radiation, after their first few interractions with humans driving them mad or killing them outright, why didnt the dark ones just leave metro dwellers alone? If they stayed out of the metro after realising that their very presence and attempts to communicate can kill or drive someone mad, artyom wouldnt have left his station, miller wouldnt have tried to launch the nuke and destroy the dark ones city and all would be well until some sort of advancement was made that allowed them to communicate.
I just feel like the dark ones had it coming.

Currently I am a supervisor at a metal fabrication faculty, small place 10 or so employees. Been there for 2 years and I am having trouble with performance. I believe the biggest problem is cleanliness and organization around the shop. First of all the owner has a ton of personal possessions in the shop that make it difficult to be productive. We usually deal with tons of material in what I believe is a small space. We generate a ton of drops, which are what's left from full stock after being processed. And since we are a "job shop" ie: we do not manufacture one specified part but rather diffrent parts on diffenet occasions. These drops are piling up around the shop and have become a slight safety issue. I don't know what to do as management doesn't want to scrap them for the value but I feel as if we have too many to properly organize. Any ideas from other shops on how to handle this?

Had a 2017 BEV and have missed it since I sold it for a Crosstrek. Just bought a 2021 BEV CPO today and am happy to have something nimble for around town.
The one question I have, is the 2021 noise from accelerating and decelerating that much louder in a 2021 than a 2017? I swear it is much louder in this one.

2024.11.29 23:50 NotRyanAir Currently off work on PIP, debt repayments exceed benefits, been told I can't get help?

No clue if I'm posting this in the right place but I am currently at a major roadblock which is beyond stressing me out. I am currently out of work on PIP due to a severe mental health condition which I'm working on sorting out and bring in just over £1000 a month including housing allowance. I was out of work for 4 months and racked up quite a bit of debt on credit cards due to having to put car finance, rent, loan repayments etc onto them, as well as flying back to my home country because of a death in the family (it hasn't been a good year for me)
A couple weeks ago, I reached out to a debt advice service to see about possibly entering into an IVA as my benefits income is massively outweighed by my debt repayments (including rent it's upwards of £1600 a month) but was told that apart from Breathing Space which they've put me onto, there's not much they can do as I'm not eligible for an IVA as I cannot afford any repayments?
Mainly just wanted some guidance as to whether I'm barking up the wrong tree or whether I am well and truly stuck here. If it helps, I live in Wales.
Don't know whether there's any services I can get in contact with to work out my expenditure and income and speak on my behalf to my creditors? I suffer from really bad anxiety and most of the time when I speak on the phone I end up messing up and not getting my point across or completely misspeaking.
I'm unable to give back my car as it's in negative equity by around £4000, already sold most things I own and currently on the best packages for mobile phone, internet, etc. The majority of my debt consists of credit cards, consolidation loan and car finance.
