I've had sciatica pain for a year and a half now. ( crushed joint in lower back. 2 crushed disc's in neck plus spine curve to the right and forward making me have a hump) I have to take 800mg ibuprofen and 1000 mg acetaminophen every 4 hours or the pain is not bearable. My bf doesn't seem to understand this. I guess since I can walk and sit ( if I keep up on the pain meds) he thinks I should feel fine. I don't. He gets upset about me never wanting to have sex. It's not just about the pain but also if he does something I don't like that is uncomfortable or painful to me and I tell him, but he continues to do it then why would I want to bother doing anything with him? People will try to racialize this so I'll just say, I grew up with trashy white people and now live in a place with trashy nonwhite people. Across the board they all try to act hard. It's a form of misogynistic thinking at the end of the day, because the women who do it exist significantly less, but I do know they exist, half my family married Cookie Monster sweatpants girls. It makes me classist to be harassed by them so much. Acting hard is just being a fucking asshole. You don't earn anybody's respect except other stupid people in monster energy drink hats when you try to actively antagonize and violently intimidate people out of nowhere or based on how feeble or muggable they look. And they've always targeted me because I'm 4'11 and visibly disabled. Which makes me hate them more.
I have two loser neighbors like this now, a man woman couple, who harass me so much despite me being a woman, and I can't fight back because of the boyfriend. At the end of the day acting hard is just being a bully. A low IQ one with no skills and no potential. These people don't believe in themselves because they shouldn't, so they don't try to play by the rules of a peaceful well intended society and instead choose to constantly disturb and intimidate others. They have a fraudulent Mercedes in the same crappy apartment as us. It makes me think most of these people are just entitled. If you're a humble hardworking person just trying to live alongside these trashy people they act like you owe them something and don't have basic human respect for others. My reaction to this over time is to associate people who act like this as less than. Why act shocked when that's what happens in the end? I'm so over it and it's making me classist. You can tell who is poor and has a bachelors degree and who was a failed abortion brain damagedly trying to assault you for not being the same trash they are. Which brings me to my final point. Being poor doesn't make you into one of these trashlords, but all of these trashlords are poor.

2024.11.30 00:40 Akbeardman I made it through Thanksgiving!
It's official, I made it past thanksgiving without hearing every retail employees least favorite Christmas song. I did not get Miriah'd. last year was an all time low, the company wide system switched to Christmas music at 2am October 4th while I was supervising restock. Nothing could be done, but I made it.
Perhaps my Christmas wish came true and it's heard about as often as some other classic. Perhaps I died and am in slightly better heaven. One thing is clear, if I make it all the way to December 5th I will play it on every jukebox I can find before leaving the bar, because chaos is beautiful.

Looking for advice, I felt like this community probably has some wisdom but if this is not the place mods I'm sorry and please let me know where the right place might be. TL;DR at bottom but yanno, if you wanna give advice maybe read the whole thing.
I have a great interest in physics theory and the very mathematical and theoretical side of our world, in fact I even thought my future would be in pure mathematics as it's another area I excel in and enjoy tremendously.
In contrast, I also love building things, actually doing experiments that show how theory works, teaching others with tangible results in front of their eyes. I built a transformer from scratch (not a very efficient one but I tried) while our physics class at school was going over emf and induction.
I have just finished highschool with a perfect score in physics (I'm in Australia so schools a bit different but a perfect score is a perfect score), I also have received a $15,000 (AUD) scholarship to a prestigious residential college at the University of Melbourne (ranked #13 on the QS world University rankings) so I have all the options to choose my path.
The issue now is I'm struggling with the choice of which side of physics I want to take, I'm wondering if there is a world where I can do both sides of physics, maybe even throw in some of the pure mathematics I also love. I've heard of historical physicists that did both, but nowadays it seems that isn't a viable option.
So does anyone know of industries and jobs I could aim for that cover both? Even research or something similar? I love the way physics makes me see our world differently, I just can't find a way to use this passion that doesn't leave me wanting more or feeling like im not using all I can offer.
TL;DR As I leave highschool this year with a perfect score in physics, is there industries or areas that in the future I could apply both heavy theoretical physics and pure maths, but also apply engineering and hands on physics work.

2024.11.30 00:40 OryoSamich 2017 Honda Civic Touring Coupe Subwoofer
A few months back I blew my center rear subwoofer in my 2017 Honda Civic touring coupe.
At first I was trying to use YouTube to find a replacement for it and I came across this video. The subwoofer used in the video is no longer sold, and has been replaced by the "Kicker 50CWCD84". This subwoofer is only $90 and seemed simple enough to install, other than having to drill holes in the top of the trunk.
However, after talking to my father about it, he had recommended I use Crutchfield to find a replacement since you can input your car model and it will give you a match for your car. When inputting my vehicle, the only option that shows up is the "Audiofrog GS8ND2", which is $330. After talking to him again, my understanding is that Crutchfield recommends this one because it will fit in my car without having to drill any holes, while the Kicker one, along with all other same sized speakers, don't show up simply because they'd require new holes to be drilled.
He then advised me to research other 8" free air speaker reviews to probably find a cheaper and better quality alternative that'd just need some holes drilled.
In the end, I'm kind of just looking for some more direction as well as additional opinions/recommendations on what to do in order to get my rear subwoofer replaced. I honestly just want a replacement that will do at least as good as the factory one I had for a good price. Roughly $100-$150 is more of the range I was looking to pay, but if getting a more expensive one, such as the Audiofrog one, is more ideal for any reason then I would be willing to pay the extra cost. Also, my father will be installing it for me, so I won't have to get a 3rd party to do it or anything if that's a concern.

2024.11.30 00:40 allenpa5 Replacement for a Bose 300 Soundbar? Recommendation Overload
I've had a Bose 300 soundbar for a few years and have always had issues with their crappy app, and lately I've just been thinking about going for a real upgrade for a couple reasons:
- I want to replace the Bose app with something that has a more stable connection (maybe every 3rd or 4th time I use the thing I have to re-pair it before it'll find and connect)
- I want more customization options for sound (EQ, surround, etc...)
- I want something with additional speakers for true surround sound and a standalone subwoofer. Not necessarily married to this idea since this will be used solely for a basement TV with awkward seating setup. It doesn't really lend itself well to traditionally surround sound placement, but I could change things around.
I'll be using it with an HDMI eARC cord to my LG C4 if that matters for pairing up systems from different manufacturers.
I'll zone out to music down there every once in a while, but primarily just play PS5 and watch movies.
Price range could run up to around $600-800 maybe? Ish? I'd sell my Bose soundbar to recoup some of those funds, so I guess I have a little flexibility.
