2024.11.30 02:30 SammoStudios I believe my work haven’t provided me with the correct ppe and are potentially in breach of contract (employed for 3 months in England
To start this off I’ve been working for 3 months at this company on a probationary period that should be coming to an end quite soon (I’m aware it’s not long but I feel unsafe here and I know how it looks: like I’ve just come in and accepted a probationary period just to then sue them for as much as I can without actually working there but this is not the case and a Co worker has dealt with this for 30 ish years)
So my work has consisted of using staple guns on harmful materials that spread tiny particles into the air that get into my lungs without proper extraction so we’ve had to set up a makeshift extraction system with electric desk fans that blow the “dust” towards the back door causing us to have to leave it wide open so the particles fly out out (you can imagine how well this works considering I’ve developed a nasty cough since working there and you see it all floating about when you walk into our area)
To my knowledge I should have eye protection, gloves, steel toe boots and a mask for this part of the job I’ve had to borrow gloves from my dads work and after months of complaining they only supplied some recently (towards the end of my probation period) the masks we took from a different area of the factory that use them for paint (so not even for our job and so don’t work as well as actual protective masks would) I had to take eye protection myself and the steel toe cap boots were promised months ago but I’ve had no sign of them since
I’ve also had to use a pillar drill and have once again had no eye protection for it and the pillar drill only turns off after being pressed in the right place (obviously not good because if I got into trouble and needed to turn it off quickly I couldn’t)
On top of all of this I was supposed to have briefing of health and safety that go through how to lift things and how to use tools (arguably i don’t need this but it’s mandatory for them and even stated in the contract it should be completed within a month I do believe) and I still haven’t done it after three months of working here
There’s also little things like fire hazards with extension leads plugged into extension leads is just one of the hundreds of examples
I’ve spoke to my parents and other people who have been through similar processes with places like this and tried to sue and they believe I can only sue if I’ve had lasting damage to myself is this true or is there a claim here that I could potentially get?

2024.11.30 02:30 Fresh-Square-5702 New Lightning owner with charging question.
Just bought a 24 XLT Standard. I live in a cold climate and wish to make the most of my at home L2 charging.
I am retired so ‘departure’ times vary wildly, sometimes occur multiple times per day or oftentimes not at all.
I understand I need to set departure times in order to maximize charging by preconditioning the battery, however whenever I plug in the charging always SEEMS to start immediately.
My main question is: does the ‘preconditioning’ apply to establishing the right conditions for driving, (extracting energy from the batt) or does it apply to the charge cycle ( inputting energy)? Or both?
A scenerio where I plug in at, say, 6pm and charge to 10pm. Then allow the battery to cool again until, for example, an 8am departure the next morning, where it reheats the battery for driving… seems a bit inefficient and I’m wondering if I’m just not understanding the process.
I’m in hopes that someone can explain this better than the manual.
