2024.11.30 05:30 StasisQuo Peeing so much a week in. And it's Thanksgiving weekend.
No advice needed, just need to complain.
I'm about a week in to my quitting journey, third attempt after 3 years of vaping total.
I'm not even dealing with cravings too badly, it's mainly been minor headaches, fatigue, and peeing literally every 5 seconds. I need to go to sleep and I could fall asleep if I didn't have to pee so bad right now. Worst part is that I'm in a camper with no working plumbing right now (staying with family for the holidays) and I don't want to go over to the house to use the bathroom there because I'll wake people up for sure. I don't even want to leave the camper or move around too much because my boyfriend is asleep next to me and we both have to get up early in the morning. If you've ever been in a camper (an older one that is) then you know that they move with you a lot and also the doors on these things are just terrible and you have to slam them every time you want to close them.
Just really hoping this withdrawal symptom passes real quick because I don't want to deal with the same thing come Christmas time. Luckily I'm staying strong and this still isn't enough to make me pick up a vape. But seriously it's super inconvenient that I have to deal with it during Thanksgiving.

Put yourself in your birds shoes. You spend your entire life only knowing for the majority of it foreigners who you have to adapt to and learn from, and you ultimately come to the conclusion that you are the last of your species. You will never get to mate and have babies of your own (this is not an argument for breeding, mind you, just kinda thinking on a basic needs level here), you will never have a friend that fully understands you and you spend significant parts of your days with only yourself to entertain.
For a larger or more intelligent species such as a gray or macaw, this might be bearable, but for a small, flock oriented species like a striped warbling parakeet (yes, this is my preferred name for a budgerigar) it would be distressing.
There are obvious cases and exceptions besides this and I'm not implying that people who only have one of any species are bad caretakers. Far from it. It's just my personal opinion wrapped up the best way I can package it.
