I'm a 46 guy that is taking care of his 79 mom. My dad passed away a few weeks ago.
My mom and dad were the opposites when it came to their issues. My dad was mentally sharp and he had a lot of mobility issues. My mom is having memory issues and isn't fully there. She can move around the house.
Unfortunately, I have extended family that continues to set up events with my mom without my input. It's a pain because I didn't really make plans for that. I'm debating about what to do in the future.

Ok, so this is a question for anyone: have you fallen, thrown, dropped, or simply fallen onto hard ground? One of the things that seems to me is severely under estimated in some martial arts circles, and public view at large, is how devastating being thrown and hitting the ground can be, even with padding.
So it brings a question to mind: has anyone here taken a bad fall, whichever way it happens it's fine to share if wanted. Just want to hear people's experiences with gravity and it's cruel unyielding presence.
I myself have had some nasty falls, thankfully for me I have had lots and lots of training in falling thanks to my Japanese Jujutsu, saved me from far worse injury. But I'd like to hear from others

there is this new trend among some pahadis claiming that the brahmin/rajput identities are merely adopted & that we are the so called "native" khasas as you may have seen in this sub
they use it further their nativist claims & separate themselves from the "desis" as the only co-relation b/w them & us is through common clans & gotras(of rajputs & brahmins)
So what does you & your family identify as,have you ever heard the word "Khasa" being uttered by any of your family members in reference to your origins,interested to see how many "declared khasas" are here with us,since all us are essentially khasa ourselves but unaware of it
also,i think those people don't realize it but being Khasa means there is practically no difference between us & nepalis and the kings like Kanakpal & his followers whose migration & settlement in hills in 8th century are well documented means nothing or they were just desis ruling Pahadi kingdoms and not actually our own ancestors and all our surnames are fake adopted ones

I have the same question. Under the PLI environment, after the file was scrolled to a right session, if I enter a keyword and use find feature, the window will show from the FIRST term that I want AMONG THE WHOLE document, rather than the First term that I want FROM THE SESSION THAT I SCROLLED TO. The PLI's feature is very annoying. How about the Prometric's interface? is it same as PLI's feature?

So I'm currently applying for a PhD program at UCSD. The deadline is Dec 4th (but I'll have to submit a day before due to time zones) and I think I might be cooked. I did finish the majority of the application beforehand BUT didn't realize this until the last minute, I'm hoping someone could help me out.
The "academic history" section requires that I list every institution I've attended, including summer sessions. I'll need to provide unofficial transcripts for them and my GPA. The problem here is that I've attended two different community colleges over the summer back in 2021-2023. I still have access to my accounts at these institutions BUT I lost access to my transcripts. I don't have a copy of them anywhere either. Apparently, per their websites, former students no longer have access to unofficial transcripts and will have to request official transcripts instead. I'm aware that graduate applications won't accept official transcripts until you've been admitted... so I'm not exactly sure what to do now. I could try calling them over the weekend but it's very unlikely I'll have something sorted out by then. Should I upload a document in place of it explaining why I don't have the transcript or order an official transcript anyway?
