I (33F) have been with my partner (38M) for 10 years. Recently, he was diagnosed with a serious heart condition requiring bypass surgery. His family, who are Southeast Asian and live in NY, has a history of anger issues, though my partner has worked on his.
His sister (42F) and her new husband (34M) flew out to help with his business but stayed over a month after the diagnosis. I was okay with it since it distracted him, even though it disrupted my routine. However, when we had to tell their mother about the surgery, things unraveled.
His mother, who has a weak heart and gets hysterical easily, needed careful handling. I prepped the sister for over a month, sent scripts, and even included techniques to manage panic attacks. But during the call, as soon as the mother broke down, the sister started screaming at her, completely derailing the conversation. Despite all the prep, she reverted to her usual behavior—yelling and escalating the situation instead of providing support.
This deeply hurt me. I’ve gone out of my way to support his sister over the years, including planning self-care trips for her. I trusted her with this critical moment, and she betrayed that trust.
Now, as my partner recovers, the sister insists on her and her husband staying for 1-3 months in our small two-bedroom apartment. I suggested one week, which I think is reasonable to let her check on him and ensure he’s settled. My partner is furious, saying she’ll take better care of him than I will (despite me being the one managing his care, working hybrid, and balancing grad school).
It’s escalated to the point where I’m staying in a hotel because his sister won’t talk to me, and he refuses to acknowledge how this affects me.
So, AITA? I understand the cultural aspect, and I know he’s the patient and deserves the support he wants. But I also feel I’m being dismissed and pushed aside in my own home. Am I being unreasonable for prioritizing a peaceful recovery environment?

I am so frustrated and disappointed by my husband. Our baby is 3 weeks old and he has done very little to help me. He took 9 days off work when I first had my baby but once we brought him home he didn’t help at all. I changed every diaper did every feeding didn’t get any sleep because i was so scared all while my husband slept 8-10 hours every night, got to do what ever he wanted to during the day and even got in a few cat naps. Not to mention how careless he is when he does actually do anything for the baby. He has almost dropped him several times because he’s too lazy to hold him properly. He has tried to put real food to the baby’s lips to taste. Falls asleep with the baby in unsafe positions. And multiple other things. I never get a break because he never offers to help and I am absolutely terrified to leave my baby unattended with him for a long time. The worst part about this is this is his second child it’s not like he’s a new dad. I’m just so exhausted and it breaks my heart that he doesn’t take caring for our child seriously.

Hello everyone, I have a $1000 stipend from work and have everything I need, so I want to use the stipend for headphones. Ideally I want to spend $700 tops in case I eventually need to buy something else with my stipend. I'm in the US, and here are my current headphones:
- Sennheiser IE300 for gym and walks, and currently used when traveling
- Sony XBA-300's as a backup that I got as a gift
- Denon AH-D600 as my first "real headphones" that I rarely use but do occasionally for nostalgic purposes
- Beyerdynamic DT-1990 for serious listening at my desk
My IE300's are my current travel headphones and the v-shaped sound is so fun to listen to at the gym. My DT-1990's with Dekoni Elite Hybrid pads sound amazing, I love the warm sound, how clear they are and how they aren't as sharp as with the stock pads so I can listen to them for hours. The mild v-shape also makes them fun to listen to. I think those are my open-back end game headphones.
These would primarily be for flights, casual listening around the house, and genres like hip-hop, electronic, industrial, metal, and shoegaze. I'm hoping for a durable, fun, ideally v-shaped sound that I can listen to on flights and walking around the house. Some headphones I'm considering are:
- Sony Z7M2 - $700 on Amazon
- Denon AH-D5200 - $560 on Amazon for Black Friday
- Beyerdynamic DT-1770 - $380 for old gen, $600 for new gen that just came out

Hi.. SQ sold me a flight getting into SIN-T3 at 1530hrs and my next flight is SIN-T2 at 1620hrs.
I assume this is possible otherwise SQ wouldnt have bundled the flights together, right? I imagine my luggage should be through-checked to HKT so it would simply be a matter of disembarking the family at T2 and jumping onto the flight at T3?
