I think about this every now and then because it was so bizarre, but during my senior of high school, our valedictorian ate his German test.
We got our graded tests back at the beginning of class one day. I guess he didn’t do so well because he looked at the teacher and went “you know what I think about your German tests?!” and he folds it up and shoves it in his mouth. Like I said, this was at the beginning of class so every now and then I’d look over at him and he would just be sitting there chewing with his arms crossed. After the hour was over, he grabbed his stuff without a word and just left. There was no way he spat that out.

2024.11.30 06:40 Charming-Season-5149 The fear of letting go of old things that were familiar and used as a crutch, can paralyze and often act as a replacement for God. I would know, I suffered it.
While God raised me since age 7, as hopefully many of you can testify knowing and facing, life is going to have challenges and issues and God, has a funny way of raising us through our pain and issues.
For me, despite God Himself raising me, like hopefully, most of you, hopefully all of you, know there are times and seasons we endure for months and even years, a lesson, trial or anything else, as a form of refinement, growth, or metamorphosis. Growing up, with the demonic depression that crippled me for 9 years since age 7, God by His grace and mercy let me stumble upon spotify when it was just a desktop. So early 2000;s.
For....years, music became a crutch God gave me to the point I had 800 artists for one playlist lol...The favorite tabs had like, 2,000 songs on there or more. Maybe 8,000? As God would heal and such and at that young age I did not realize but felt His healing and its effects, at the same time the music would act as a forum of therapy.
But slowly and surely, that which was meant for help, became an idol honestly, and a trap. The thing meant for help, became something of a snare. Less and less I went to God for that season, and God's voice would be distant or muddied, or I wont not hear at all, then again, I did not even understand it was Gods voice many times He lead me lolol so there probably not much awareness there.
But God slowly and surely, peeled me off of music, where in times past I'd spend 15+ hours just day dreaming, thinking of God, superheroes and more, and then cry myself to sleep from sad music, and God then would make me switch to worship and minister to me, He drew me to a place where days can go by and its okay to not listen to music.
But the devil is crafty, a loser who I laugh at, but crafy. Video games became the next trick, as too anime, comics, and homosexuality porn.
Long story short; since 3-4 weeks now, after I had been free fully thanks to God, satan tempted my heart with those things. It took until days ago and even now to answer why I kept going back but God in His compassion and faithfulness made me understand why.
Its the same escapism, fantasy yearning, and crutch using I suffered with music. Because God raised me, He did in fact show me so much of the evil going on. On top of this, many issues I faced were major. A normal Atheist probably would take their lives if they faced some of the things i did for example...Just being honest....I was using these things, and I fell so hard for 3-4 weeks, because I had no resolved my heart issue, where video games, porn, and comics and more, were my crutch too, accidentally, but even still so.
Thats when God sat me down days ago and made me ask something I was scared to. "God, am I just unhappy with you?" mmmmmm.........We talked and I realized no, when I am with God, I am happy. When reading His word, happy. So God though asked me this then." When you play video games, are you truly happy?" I said," No sir," He said," When you read comics and watch homosexuality porn and fantasy of it despite knowing its evil and a lie, does it make you happy?" I said," No sir, it never truly satisfies or makes me happy."
Then He asked this one......"When you spend time with me, read my word, pray and fast, worship and use the gifts I gave you to help others and more, does it make you happy? Does time with me, make you happy? Do you regret each time you choose me over the world and sin?"
Yes sir, each time with you and all of you and that you stand for, I am happy. And no, I have never once regretted choosing you and giving up anything else, even homosexuality,"
Then He said this," Be brave then, and let go. You dont need these things anymore. Give it up. They wont satisfy you."
I kept falling, even yesterday ironically twice, because in my heart, these sins and things, were my crutch, my fantasy, my why. I kept going back and forth, because somewhere in me, I was afraid, that if I let it go, I may never be satisfied with life. How ironic, Each time I went to God, I was satisfied. Maybe not with life, sure, but with God, and because with God, by connection, by truth, even in Life. My focus point became life and the things in life and lifes promises. Since even yesterday making my focus just HIM, giving it up....has been easy.
Ironically, Satans been attacking my mind again with homosexuality and video games and comics. But I have no desire to go back. God even told me to read His word and watch Seneca Sodi's video, where He testifies of seeing Heaven for 40 days. Watching the animated bible series even.
See, spending time with God even watching Chosen. In fact, God told me to connect scenes in bible movies and Chosen and tv shows, with Christian songs...
the difference here is not change in media or such, its change in focus on who I am spending time with and why. HIM. Its not Chosen or Moses movie or Bible documentary for their sake, Its," Hey God, lets watch Chosen together and you tell me your ideas on it," Its," Man, I am mad bored, God, Imma lay down, can you just. hug me for a bit,:"
Video games, comics, porn, music, they became.....My....."Hey, I need this, I feel this, help me." So I would run back, despite vowing to give it up.
I had to face the fear too of asking a hard question. Do I really enjoy time with God. And YEsssssaaa, I DO! But I needed to realize in deep and truth, why I ran to my sins and lies.
Whats your trap and snare? And have you asked God yet why you go to it? Have you asked Him the hard questions you are scared to? Trust me, any kid would be scared asking if they loved their mom or dad....Dont let the fear stop you from being honest with God, and dont let satan stop you from letting God help you.
