With Christmas coming up, I decided to do some midnight gift shopping. I stumbled upon a site with deals that seemed too good to be true—prices that made me feel like I'd hit the holiday jackpot. The website looked clean enough, with polished product images and a professional vibe. It didn't set off any immediate alarms, so I started adding items to my cart.
As I headed to checkout, I decided to be cautious and Googled the site to make sure it wasn’t a scam. I landed on a Reddit post that seemed to confirm it was legit. With my skepticism eased, I entered my shipping address and contact details. Everything seemed fine, but then, when I clicked on PayPal to pay, a merchant error message popped up.
At first, I thought it was a glitch on PayPal’s end. But then it hit me—my PayPal account had been working fine all day. That’s when the little voice in my head screamed: Something’s not right.
I went back to the Reddit post, this time reading it more carefully. My heart sank. Turns out, I had completely misread the thread earlier. The post was about a legitimate website with a similar name but a slightly different spelling. The site I had been shopping on? 0 hits on Reddit.
I instantly opened up abuseipdb and urlscan to get some precursory info on the domain. 0 hits on abuseipdb, and info from urlscan seemed innocent enough. Decided to whois the domain as well from the command line, and my heart sank further. The result from querying whois.hostinger.com showed the registrant is at some place in Pakistan with some gmail that seems barely legit.
Now, I understand there are many legitimate businesses that run in Pakistan. However, what I'm buying, is definitely NOT best sourced from Pakistan, and I'm not entirely sure why a legit business would use Pakistan to register their domain. Suffice to say, feels like I just handed over information tying my phone number and name/address. I currently a web app pentesting book on the shelf collecting dust and am considering cracking it open for once.
Which leads me to my questions:
- What are the risks involved by making name/address/phone public?
- What are some key metrics to tell whether a site is legit?
- How accurate is my analysis?
- How would someone go about taking remedial action against the site so that it doesn't commit further fraud if it is malicious?

Hello, I’ve got a 2019 trax that’s leaking oil out of the PCV diaphragm. The car has a P0299 engine code. The small red check valve in the intake manifold is still there. The hose that I pulled off to check the intake manifold is however full of oil. I replaced the PCV hose, and adjusted the wastegate actuator arm, and cleaned/lubed the wastegate arm. Went for a short drive and the code is no longer popping up, car felt fine until I hit 80 then it stuttered and shot out oil from the diaphragm. I’ve got a new valve cover on the way. Anything else I should check, or other ideas what would’ve been causing this?

I got a partial removal 5 days ago… I’m in so much excruciating pain post op I’m regretting having it done. I can’t walk… can’t sleep. Someone please tell me it gets better. I went to urgent care and got a script for an antibiotic incase it’s infected but I don’t think it is. I know it’s healing but I can’t take this pain anymore. OTC meds only do so much. Doing all post op care properly. Epsoms, elevating.

Redcon takes up an insanly amount of space in my head, I am even building on a minecraft map based off redcons world (with some little studio ghibli inspirations?) so yeah, I think about it a lot. I am a big sucker for realism in games, ofc in the confines of the Game, (for example it doesnt bother me how the travel time for different projectiles makes no sense, but its fine because the game wouldnt be any fun if shells stayed in the air for minutes) you get the point. I am also a sucker for rockets and the ICBMs, so It really bothers me how terrible they are, and unrealistic to top it all off.
So I've thought about how to change them, and wanted to share my thoughts here, because you guys probably have a lot more hours in redcon and will be able to point out flaws or how it wouldnt be balanced.
My main point is that 1: they should fly at a steeper angle and 2: be a lot faster.
This would make their attack more alike the mortars ones, giving you more variety wether you attack the enemy from the front or topside (mostly you'd mix it up) and you can choose to deliver utility like nerve gas from the top now. This also serves the purpose of making them harder to hit by defenses, because even tho they penetrate hex shields, they are still a dead room if the enemy has any turrets whatsoever. They should be slow enough to be easily shot down by a manned ADS tho, but significantly harder than they are now. They also should then be able to miss.
If this were to become reality, I'd also tweak the "python" missiles (the normal ones) as such, to differentiate them from regular mortars.
Less damage to the targeted room, but chip damage to adjacent rooms to interrupt repairs, as well as slightly increased damage to personell and very small damage to personell in adjacent rooms.
For realism purposes, you could then call the explosion a thermobaric one.
Now i will ramble on about "realism" a bit more. This whole idea came to me because its very bothersome that the rockets, wich are stacked almost vertically, just after lauch turn to fly in a bullet arc and so slow at that that they would fall out of the air. Point is, if they were to fly at such an angle, they'd have to be at least as fast as the shells, which would be insanely broken given how many hits they can tank from a defense turret. So I thought, since they already cost similar recources, why not make them have a similar attack pattern as well. They would launch with their boosters activated, and fall down on the enemy base WITHOUT their boosters active a few seconds later, just like mortars. Since their boosters aren't active anymore, giving them less tools to course correct and whatnot, they also gain a chance to miss their target. balancing them as well.
Please let me know what you guys think of this one, I am interested in your ideas also for other changes to the missiles. I really like them and it kinda hurts seeing them on the bottom tier (DESERVED but still) on the tier list people have been posting recently.
