Wrote 9.5K words in my draft this month by creating a writing routine of penning down atleast 300 words every day for the last 30 days.
There were days when I wrote sitting in a couch at a hair dresser while waiting for my dad to get his haircut, and while waiting outside a therapist's office while my wife was undergoing treatment to fight against her severe post-partum depression, and sitting next to my new born son (2.5 months old) after I just put him to sleep at mid-night.
It didn't feel great to do this. But it felt right. It felt realistic.
Doing this, for once I felt like a real writer–with a full-time day job, and a family to take care of. I guess this is what striving towards becoming a writer feels like.
Lesson learned: Yes, consistency is indeed much superior to inspiration.

How will this even be relevant in the dungeon when the only ones that can charm him are Freya and Aphrodite which both cannot enter the dungeon, the former isn't even living as a Goddess anymore, and the latter is yet to make her canon debut?
Freya can't send Horn with him in the dungeon too. Who would even charm him at this point to have this skill usable?

For those with a history of thickened nuchal fold at 16 weeks onwards or thickened nuchal translucency during their first trimester, how are things holding up? Are there people out there who had a history of these findings and still had a normal baby at the end of it all?
I’m a FTM. Had normal scans for my pregnancy. No problems during my first trimester scans and 17 week scan. Didn’t do an NIPT yet since it wasn’t covered by our insurance.
Just did another scan at 24 weeks and we saw a thickened nuchal fold at 8.7mm. No other abnormalities were seen. Baby was growing well and wasn’t too big or small. My sugar, blood pressure, and everything else is normal.
Already did an NIPT so we’re just waiting for the results. Hoping to hear experiences from those who were in the same boat.

Around about a month ago I made a post asking languagelearning if learning a new language has opened up a new side of the internet for them and got some interesting responses. Mandarin Chinese has always interested me but I don't see myself traveling to the country anytime soon and there aren't many Chinese people where I live so I'm curious what the Chinese side of the internet is like as that's where I'd be using the language most.
Some comments on my post suggested Mandarin due to how isolated the ecosystem is and how different it is from the rest of the internet. This, alongside the fact that I was already interested in the language, sparked the idea for this post.
I'm curious what the modern internet is like (internet culture), how much high quality media there is in the language compared to English (movies, shows, music etc.) and what the experience has been like for foreigners learning Chinese and experiencing it for the first time.
Looking forward to hearing about it all :)

Gonna try to make this as short as possible but me 28f and fiancé 28m recently got engaged and are planning to be married November 2025. I would have been happy to elope in the first place but fiancé wanted to ‘do things right’ and after we found the venue I was starting to get excited about an actual wedding. We found a venue that has like an airb&b campground onsite on a lake, the idea was the wedding would be Saturday and hoping as many people could stay Friday too and make a weekend out of it. Now they weren’t super cheap but I thought affordable considering the amenities of the airb&b and being on the lake. 2-3bedrooms w/ 1-2bathroom cabins were $400-500 a night. There’s only about 60 guests and mostly family. My side of family is of average or above average income that travels regularly and have traveled for other weddings so I didn’t think this was completely unreasonable especially if families could share and split cost.
So after just spending the holidays with everyone and showing them the airb&bs so far the first thing everyone has brought up is the cost. No one has said no, but by the look on their faces they seem shocked. It just felt so uncomfortable and embarrassing.
At this point the wedding is more for them and no one seems into it. I wouldn’t mind paying that much to be able to spend the whole weekend with everyone and really make memories but 10k just for one day I can’t justify. Should we just scrap the whole thing and elope?

My sister didn’t hear but I heard them. Happened many times. Either people keep staring or pass comments.
