Hello all, I wanted to give an update about the Pharaoh ant crisis we’ve been dealing with. I’ve been getting some PMs and comments on my older messages about the problem. Tl;Dr is at the bottom.
At the beginning of 2024, we started seeing a few ants, but they multiplied in just a few days. Based on recommendations, we contacted our building management, and they arranged a pest control visit for us. We were also advised to check with other tenants. At first, no one admitted to having ants, but after asking again, some said things like, “Yeah, I’ve had them too, actually.”
We live in a really big building (around 200 rooms), and most residents are international students. I think many didn’t know their rights, and honestly, I don’t think they were very clean either. We’ve heard that some students don’t even care, they live next to the ants, cook, and sleep without doing much about it.
While we were dealing with ants on our side of the building, we found out the other side has cockroach and bedbug infestations. I can’t even describe how I felt when I heard that.
It seems like a lot of rooms on our side are affected by ants. It all started at the same time, which makes me wonder if they were carried in by someone’s luggage or something similar.
At first, I was optimistic. Pest control seemed to know what they were doing, and the ants disappeared for a while. But after about two months, they came back. The pest control team used the same methods, and it was like yoyoing because gone for a bit, then back again.
The pest control had originally said it would take 3-4 months to get rid of them completely. We even joked that it might take longer. Unfortunately, using instant kill poisons made things worse. We only had one colony near a crack in the kitchen, but now the ants are everywhere in our home.
We live in Germany, and since we’re still learning German, communicating with pest control has been hard. We try using translators, but it’s not always enough.
By the end of summer, the pest control team told us, “We’ve done everything we can, they shouldn’t come back anymore.” They also took a sample ant to a lab. But of course, the ants came back again after two months.
Last month, the ants got inside our coffee machine. That was really tough for us emotionally. The machine was pretty new, but the ants made a colony near the motor. It was heartbreaking. I’ve even started having nightmares about ants.
In the meantime, because of what we read on this community, we asked for Biopren granules ourselves, and they gave us plenty. We put them around especially when they go mad, it calms them down. Our colony seemed calm, waiting for the Biopren to work, but a few days ago, a new colony appeared. A lot of tiny ants running around, it's been a while since I saw the tiny ones. We guessed their nest wrong and put the Biopren in the wrong spot. Now the ants are everywhere in the bathroom. It feels like a horror movie. I wasn't able to eat at all, after seeing that..
Unfortunately, I don’t have the budget to move. Between my personal finances and the housing crisis here, I can’t see myself leaving here until I graduate and find full-time work.
I hope I can bring better news next time. Because we finally managed to get a new appointment after waiting so long. In the past one of the pest control workers told us that they had recommended a full building extermination earlier in the year, but the building management didn’t approve it at the time. Now, almost a year later, they finally agree it’s necessary. I’m eagerly waiting for the next appointment. I’m hopeful because they said they plan to apply Biopren to the whole building this time.
TL;DR: Pharaoh ants invaded our building in early 2024, spreading rapidly despite repeated pest control efforts. The problem worsened due to ineffective treatments, language barriers, and building management delays. The ants even infested our coffee machine, causing significant stress. A full-building extermination is finally planned, offering some hope, but moving out isn't financially feasible.
So please don't try to exterminate your ants with instant kill poisons. And last but not least they hate the smell of bleach. It is not healthy I know but use bleach to clean the chem trails and you can also use cinnamon oil (they seem to not like the smell of the cinnamon) (they come back but at least it takes time for them to come back, vinegar was not enough for my case, and don't mix them it will release Cl gas)

Hallo. Ich suche derzeit nach einer alternative zu unseren Stromheizungen in der Wohnung und letztens wurde mir etwas von wasserführenden Pelletöfen gesagt, bei denen man ähnlich wie bei einer Fußbodenheizung Rohre im Boden verlegen könnte, die dann die ganze Wohnung heizen. Da stellen sich mir allerdings Fragen:
- Wie effizient sind diese Heizungen wirklich? Kann die verlegte Bodenheizung dann mit einer "regulären" Fußbodenheizung mithalten? Wie sehen Strom- und Wasservebrauch aus?
- Müssen Pelletofen und Wassereinheit (nennt man dass so?) in einem Raum stehen oder kann der Ofen bspw. im Wohnzimmer und die Wassereinheit im Bad sein?
- Wie kostenintesiv ist so ein Vorhaben? Fallen da viele Kosten beim Einbau im Gegensatz zu Alternativen an?

I couldn't find anyone else talking about this. Jayce is also dead in the Happy timeline.
Remember in S1E2 Mel asks Jayce in the disciplinary hearing "Do you have anything to show for your work besides an explosion?"
Well in Happyverse it's "Do you have anything to show for your work besides an explosion, and a dead Zaunite girl?"
In S1 Jayce gets his ass fired from the academy and decides to jump off a ledge, suicide note and everything.
In Happyverse the council's decision must have been far harsher judging by the complete lack of Hextech. Jayce is at least banished, at worst sentenced to prison, with Viktor unwilling to seek him out with a death on Jayce's hands.
So yeah by the time Heimer got zapped into Happyverse Happy-Jayce was swinging from the rafters in Stillwater.

Mesmo durando pouco algumas vezes, sempre foquei em proporcionar prazer a ela e sentia que estava indo bem assim. Ela também nunca comentou nada sobre estar insatisfeita com nossa intimidade, então aquilo me pegou de surpresa e fez eu me sentir muito inseguro sobre meu corpo
Eu só esperei o hype desse assunto passar e agi como se estivesse tudo bem para não deixar na cara de que eu fiquei chateado, mas parei de fingir quando chegamos em casa. Agora ela fica perguntando por que estou bravo e estou evitando contato. Essa mania de saber o que há de errado mas ficar me pressionando para falar me irrita muito.
