2024.11.30 12:51 Accurateaccurateness So many things going wrong, any idea where to start?
Over the last couple weeks things have been getting worse and worse on my pc, games crashing, blue screens, discord restarting etc etc (list below) does anyone have any idea what the cause could be, would these all be related to a single issue? any help is greatly appreciated.
Things that have been happening:
- Blue Screens randomly
- Games such as Black Ops 6, Fortnite, Inscryption and Palworld keep crashing, but will work after some time. (Games such as Final Fantasy 14 and Silent Hill 2 remake seem unaffected)
- Discord will randomly restart while i'm busy typing.
- Chrome will throw up Access Violation errors (happens a lot on sites like Youtube, Amazon and Temu)
- Windows no longer recognizes my SD card
- CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700K 3.40 GHz
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
- RAM: 64GB (2x Corsair 32gb)
- MoBo: MSI PRO H610M-G DDR4
- OS: Windows 11

I have had the Sony XM4 headphones for just over 3 years.
About 4 months ago I replaced the ear pads. The material on the existing ones had become very warn with splits in bits of marterial coming off. A bit disheartening as I never used in gym or outside, kept to office use. I tried hard to source official replacements but had no joy. Seems impossible to source. In the end I went with the best rated replacement I could find on amazon.co.uk.
Anyway, since replacing the active noise cancellation has been considerably reduced. This is the main reason I bought the headphones in the first place and what I really loved about them.
Can I expect noise cancellation to reduce over time anyway?
I am now considering selling the XM4s on and getting a replacement. The number one I am considering is the Bose Quietcomfort Ultra. They are more expensive but I am annoyed by Sonys lack of support for parts and I found that Bose have replacement parts easily available online, which for me is a massive plus. Has anyone made this swap and are they worth it?. I was more then happy with Sony ones until replacing ear pads.
