2024.11.30 12:30 Drop_G0 Slow faders and ribbon on the Alesis Vortex Wireless 2
I've been having the Alesis Vortex wireless 2 for about 3 days now. And I've been noticing that the faders and the ribbon changes value very gradually and slowly.... The pitch wheel is the only quick and nice thing to use. I had to do some MIDI tweaking to get the pitch wheel to work as a parameter controller(like a wah filter for example). I've had 2 keyboards before and they don't do this. does anybody else have this problem with the keytar?

Guys, so I just posted in the AusRenovation about water leaking through roof and into our rangehood.
So I got a ladder and took off a few tiles on the edges and found:
- Rangehood exhaust pipe has no vent out of the roof - it simply blows in the roof above the kitchen? How is this allowed?
-There is gap between the flashing and the tiles for pests to enter into the roof area - I found a lot of dirt and what looked like mouse/rat droppings - what kind of design is this?
- There are concrete chunks everywhere near the external brick veneer, not sure where they have come from
- Flashing on the edge appears to have been patched using some sealant
- Flashing is missing screws and has open holes...
This house is 15 years old so I expected better workmanship - because it was a display home from Metricon!

I’ve lived in my neighborhood for three years, and every December, my neighbor, Mr. Barnes, goes all out with his Christmas lights display. We’re talking synchronized music, inflatable reindeer, a life-sized Santa sleigh, and more blinking lights than a Vegas casino. It’s so over-the-top that he’s won the neighborhood’s “Holiday Spirit Award” for two years running.
This year, I decided to finally dip my toe into the festive pool and put up a few lights on my bushes. Nothing fancy—just a string of warm white lights that I bought on sale. But apparently, my little attempt at holiday cheer was enough to irritate Mr. Barnes, who passive-aggressively reminded me that his display was “the main attraction” and suggested I keep my decorations “subtle.” Fine by me—I wasn’t trying to compete.
But then disaster struck.
Enter my brand-new Lawn Roomba, a robotic mower I got on Black Friday. It’s supposed to make my life easier by automatically trimming my grass, but what the box doesn’t tell you is that the thing has the navigational skills of a drunk toddler. It’s constantly wandering into places it shouldn’t—flower beds, the sidewalk, my dog’s water bowl. But I figured, “What harm could it do in December? The grass isn’t even growing!”
Oh, how wrong I was.
One chilly evening, while I was sipping cocoa inside, my Lawn Roomba somehow activated itself. I still don’t know how—maybe my dog bumped it, or maybe it’s possessed—but it escaped my yard and rolled straight into Mr. Barnes’s award-winning display.
The next thing I know, there’s frantic knocking at my door. It’s Mr. Barnes, absolutely fuming, dragging my Lawn Roomba behind him. “Your robot destroyed my lights!” he yelled. I followed him outside, and sure enough, there was carnage everywhere. The inflatable snowman was deflated, Rudolph’s nose had been ripped off, and half of the synchronized lights were tangled around my rogue robot.
Apparently, the Lawn Roomba had gone on a rampage, chewing up extension cords, flattening decorations, and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. To make matters worse, it somehow knocked over a ladder that Mr. Barnes had been using to adjust his rooftop lights. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but his display was absolutely ruined.
I felt terrible and immediately offered to pay for the damages, but Mr. Barnes was inconsolable. “You’ve ruined Christmas!” he shouted, which seemed a bit dramatic, considering it was still November. He also accused me of intentionally sabotaging his display to “eliminate the competition.”
Now, half the neighborhood is on his side, calling me a Grinch, while the other half is secretly laughing because, let’s be honest, his display was a bit much. Meanwhile, my Lawn Roomba is grounded, and I’m afraid to even put up a wreath.
So, AITA for accidentally ruining my neighbor’s Christmas lights display? Or is this just a case of holiday karma coming for someone who took “festive” way too far?
