Really want to pull this wierd strand that grows out under the nail. It's easy to crush and once that happens it's hopeless until it grows out again. I have tried to drag it out with a razor knife and also tried to pull it out with needle nose. Appreciate any suggestions.

 | Dropped my 16 Pro from my lap on to a rough driveway getting out of a car. I forgot it was there, guess I thought it was in my pocket like always and I was also carrying groceries. Anyways, the fall cracked the camera control on the case and my screen protector. The phone itself is fine, thankfully. I think the Apple silicone case held up well this time with my 16 Pro, no significant damage to it besides the camera button. Previously, I had a silicone case from Apple for my 14 PM and that one didn’t fare so well. It fell from a similar distance on to a smooth surface indoors and the silicone ripped in two places from one drop. For this 16 Pro silicone case, the camera button still does work for pressing it down. Though, the feedback for a light press is fainter now and scrolling won’t work over the cracked part.
