 | I bought myself this Sakai Kikumori Nohonko Gyuto 240 mm after completing my masters. I was a bit unsure wether it might be to large but it doesn't feel awkward to use at all, quite the opposite. It came super sharp ootb and I love it, much more than I anticipated :) Second Picture: Choilshot. As far as I can tell/know it has an obvious ~70/30 grind. I wondering why so many sources say its 50/50. I was expecting 70/30 and so far I really like it. Third Pictures: Janky setup to sand and polish the spine and choil, worked good enough but I have since bought a multi angle vise. Fourth Picture: Already Beautiful patina.  | Hi all, anyone know why it’s not working on wireless mode but working when it’s wired? I bought my first mechanical keyboard directly from Royal Kludge. When I first switched it on I managed to get it working wirelessly. Then i plugged it in to charge the battery as I would with many things I just bought to get the battery full. When I came back later it stopped working. It works fine when I plug it in. I tried pressing FN + Space to factory reset and tried doing it through the software but no luck. Battery doesn’t seem swollen, i basically charged it using my apple charger, standard 20w USB C charger. Which i’ve never had issues charging all other USB C device including non apple products. I got full refund from Royal Kludge so treating this keyboard as experiment hence why I was brave enough to open the keyboard even though i’ve never done it before. Anyone got a clue? 2024.11.30 16:47 atomic_mermaid Where to go in Europe for a city break in March for some warmth and sunshine?
Got a big work project over the next few months which should wind up by March, so want to book a city break after it. I went to Barcelona last year around that time and while not hot it was mostly lovely and sunny, proper t-shirt weather. Think I could really do with that again after wintework.
Having a look online and it seems like Barcelona might be the best of the lot in terms of weather? Everywhere seems to be sub 10 degrees, apart from Italy which seems extortionately priced (maybe because they have the weather!)
I'd happily go to Barcelona again tbf but before I book anything wanted to check if people had any other recs for European sunny spots in the spring? I don't need baking temps - just blue skies and sunshine.

2024.11.30 16:47 GZrides Saving ruined chainstays vs. buying new
 | I'm slowly building frame no. 1. Traditional lugged construction, oversize tubes, up to 55-559 tyres and 432mm chainstays. Of course this implies a lot of clearance issues around the bottom bracket area, but I've got a habit of starting with the difficult stuff. I got pre-bent chainstays, MPO240C2024, knowing I would need to add one bend at the BB so they would match the angle of BB shell ports. Bent them way too far and ruined a pair of perfectly fine chainstays, creased them at the edge of where they were clamped in the vice. Apart from that the oval clamping blocks had a fillet but it was too tight, I should have given them a gentler radius to avoid starting the crease. Is there any way to save these or do I have to get new ones? If using new chainstays would I be better off cold forming and filing the BB shell ports than bending the chainstays? I've adjusted the main triangle lugs like that but those were smaller adjustments. For new chainstays, does anyone know where to get these or others with the same bend within the EU? Tengo muchas situaciones en las que se suelen aprovechar del hecho de que yo no se "defenderme", o el como me cuesta decir no. Por ejemplo con mi prima. La quiero un montón y le tengo mucho apreció, pero hay actitudes que no me caben. A principio de año le preste un buzito mio porque me lo pidió para salir. Bueno se lo preste. Pasaron meses hasta que llego agosto, le mande un mensaje diciendole si es que tenía el buzito que le había prestado, me contesto que si, que se había re colgado pero que lo tenía ahí guardado. Le pregunte si me lo podía traer, porque al día siguiente lo quería usar, y me contesto "Vení a buscarlo, si vos lo querés usar". No me gusto, ya que primero, no tendría porque estarle pidiendo mis cosas...se lo preste con la idea de que me lo iba a devolver, pero incluso hasta ahora no me lo devolvió, y ya estamos terminando el año. No solo con ella me pasaron estas cosas, hace como 2 meses una amiga me pregunto si le podía prestar un jardinerito, y todavía no me lo devolvió. Otra mas, el año pasado a OTRA amiga le preste un jean en el mes de marzo mas o menos, y en septiembre se lo tuve que pedir (otra vez, ya se lo había pedido anteriormente pero siempre se olvidaba de llevarmelo), porque si no, no me lo iba a devolver. Una vez incluso preste una remera que me gustaba mucho, y nunca me la devolvieron. Llegue a pensar, bueno se habra olvidado, pero la chica hasta subió fotos en ig usando mi remera, que yo le había "prestado" hace ya un año. Nunca mas la recupere. Se que estoy siendo una tonta, pero las veces que llegue reclamar se terminaron enojando conmigo. No entiendo esas actitudes, y trato de pedir las cosas con paciencia, pero en cualquier momento siento que voy a terminar explotando...
