My dad is a contractor. Home Life - Unfortunately, my childhood was marred by domestic violence. My father would verbally and physically abuse my mother when I was young. Divorce is uncommon and challenging in my country, so she stayed for our sake. Our financial situation also deteriorated due to my father's drinking habits. He would come home intoxicated, hit my mom or break a chair or yell at me and my siblings. Additionally, he started brewing alcohol illegally at home. As I matured, I realized this behavior was unacceptable. And I never dated anyone because I was scared that I would be the same as him. Bulling - Despite these challenges, I have excelled academically and earned a place at the top-ranked school in my country. However, as the middle child, I often felt neglected by my parents, especially my father. He would physically and verbally abuse me while intoxicated. I always thought I was the problem and I did my best to make them proud. But looking back now I never did anything to get beaten up.I wasn't allowed to go out with my friends so I was always at home or school. Despite these things, my mom and siblings have always been a source of love and support. Furthermore, I have been bullied throughout my school years, even by teachers who mocked my voice and appearance. The taunts included accusations of being gay, and the list goes on. I just installed my Comma 3X and have only used stock OP so far. I’m very happy with it so far and plan to start trying out experimental mode and forks soon.
One feature I’m interested in that’s not on stock OP is slowing down for curves. Am I correct to assume that feature is only available if using OP longitudinal control?
I have a Hyundai Tucson and the car’s stock ACC is quite good while I’ve seen comments that the OP longitudinal can be more hit or miss. It would be great if the Comma could adjust the set speed for my car’s ACC when approaching sharp curves, particularly on back roads, without fully committing to OP longitudinal. But I’m guessing that’s not how it works, right?

so for my whole life i’ve dealt with a chronic illness and a whole load of other medical issues that come with it. these past 4 years have been particularly hard though. all my life i was an avid sports player. from basketball, to swimming, dance, soccer, lacrosse, and swim coaching. over the last 4 years, my health has rabidly declined and i am now unable to participate in the sports i love. some weeks i’m almost completely bedridden, can barely eat, and have to crawl to the bathroom. that’s at least once a month. the rest of the time i’m in a considerable amount of pain. i can’t even walk a block or stand for more than 10 minutes without being fatigued, in severe pain, and light headed and on the verge of passing out (sometimes i do). i use knee and ankle braces but those don’t do much help anymore. i barely leave the house now.
i want to ask about possibly getting a mobility aid but i don’t know who to ask. i don’t have a primary care doctor at the moment and i know that without some sort of professional telling her, my mom would brush me off.
i want to go places again. i used to hangout downtown and go to a ton of concerts but that just isn’t possible with my current conditions being the way they are

As I see many centrally located sits in London have low applications (which can only happen at this time of year), I wonder where the sitters have gone?
For me, here are my reasons (in no particular order) for not wanting to do a sit during Xmas and New Year:
1) The weather is usually bad for travelling around
2) The transportation costs are too high
3) Many shops/businesses/museums are not open so I can't have a full experience of the city
4) I don't like festive holidays. Not a fan of Christmas markets myself.

1) Need to be home with their family

It’s time to either upgrade my current bike or sell and buy new and I’m seeking some advice. Current setup is a XXL Trek Roscoe 7 hardtail, 27.5+, capable of taking a 29” wheel-set. It needs a new cassette and fork service after 4 years of riding, this last year I took on NICA coaching for the club at the high school I teach at. I can’t help but feel I could keep up with the kids better if I had a 29er and skinnier tires. I have my eyes on a new Specialized Chisel but am torn between the hardtail and full suspension. What would you do if it were you? Cost to upgrade the current might be similar to buying new if pricing from Trek for a 29” wheel-set is same as what I was told when I bought the bike, not to mention the other needs. It’s not the typical buying season but I also think I ought to do this before we’re all paying for the upcoming tariffs here in the US.

Hello, I'm trying to build a native android app that heavily depends on SMS retrieval and processing. I have defined the permissions, granted them at run time and defined my broadcast receiever in the manifest.
Everything works. But the app is being flagged as malware by all devices.
I don't want to use foreground services as it will use an intrusive persistent notification. I just want the app to work in a way that it generates a Json from some SMS messages.
I know this is achievable, since Truecaller does it. I don't want persistent notifications and the app should work even when it's not in use.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Truecaller does this perfectly even without being set as the default SMS app and it will not show any notifications, except for when you get the SMS.
How can I achieve this?

I had an accident with quick cat scan not long ago, no treatment and was out in hours. Two claims appear approved with reasonable copay. However there's two other claims "in review" that look like the difference from what full costs were vs coverage. Specifically one is roughly 99,000 and the other 45,000 when the approved claims are 5k and 1k with a few hundred I owe.
Common sense tells me it's a quirk in the system but I can't seem to get a fold of anyone with access to that information to confirm between that offices available hours and the crazy phone system designed to make it difficult.
Anyone have similar experience? It's just in "review" status but still unsettling just to see.
