I am a software engineer. I was watching Tiktok a few months ago and stumbled across a video about a QR Code Scam.
The girl was a bride-to-be and had created dynamic QR codes for her wedding invitations, photo links, brochures, tables, and more. The links worked perfectly when she created them months ago, but stopped working after 30 days. She had already printed her QR codes on physical materials and in order to make the codes work again she had to pay $30/month.
Scam! And the worst part is, this is one of the largest qr code generation sites right now.
Dynamic QR codes are simple. They send users to a domain which redirects to another site. They are great because users can change the redirect link any time even after printing. $30 per month is ridiculous though.

 | This is probably more Cantonese bbq turkey actually but, marketing. I have heard of these my entire life , that certain bbq places in Chinatown do Turkey on Thanksgiving. Due to some unforeseen circumstances I found myself in Chinatown Thursday morning. Hay Hay Market had these, I thought it was a bust at first but I asked and they whipped this bad boy out. I was thrilled. They were thrilled. Everyone was happy. What a unique New York experience. They sell the turkey in quarters, “wing or leg,” which is to say white or dark. The bird was incredible. They chopped it up just like the duck or chicken, in like thirty seconds. They also give you a pint of corn starch thickened gravy, which I surmise to be drippings, soy, and an aggressive amount of Chinese five spice. So so good. The bird was so moist, I’m an avid home cook but this was humbling, I really am considering getting a whole bird next year instead of making my own. The flavors were distinctly Chinese but also subtle, this blended in and fit right at home on my traditional dinner plate. The best part was the thrill and disbelief a bunch of tourists got watching the chopping process and the subsequent 3/4 carcass proudly taking its rightful place hanging in the window. I can’t believe this isn’t more popular. Not an urban legend, roast turkey in Chinatown thanksgiving morning is real.
