Hello everybody, I am planning on getting a 3D printer for Christmas but I am not too sure which one to buy, I am only getting started on 3D printing since my career asks me to make a lot of pieces (I'm in mechanical engeneer) and I wanted to see which option was the best. I was considering the Ender 3 since it's the cheapest one and is the most bought on Amazon but I wanted to know the opinions of people who know about this. My budget is around 200 dollars max. Any advice or info is appreciated! :)

Hi chubby friends! I’m 33 and on the path to FIRE, aiming to hit $3.5M and fire by 50. My goal isn’t necessarily full retirement—what I really want is the freedom to work selectively part-time without stressing about whether my work pipeline dries up.
Here’s where I’m at financially:
- Currently Own: $700K (90% VOO, 10% BND)
- Saving $110K/year (planning for raises to increase this)
- Maxing 401(k)s, the rest goes into taxable accounts
- Living in a HCOL area with a sane $3.3K/month mortgage (including property tax)
- Total monthly spend: $8.3K including mortgage (can scale back if needed)
- Long-term plan: Spend ~$300K to remodel and add space for when our little kids become full sized (planning to do this after hitting $1.5M to minimize disruption to our FIRE timeline, Also expect this could end up closer to 400k, TBD).
The benefits seem pretty solid:
- We’d avoid the need for a major remodel, which simplifies life.
- Our $1M investment would essentially double, giving us a $2M house.
- By the time we’re 55, we’d have our current house paid off and generating $5K+ in rental income.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, is this an opportunity worth pivoting for, or should we stick with our original plan?

2024.11.30 16:20 captaincool31 Deep KTM discounts (change my mind please)
My local dealer has like double discounts on all of the KTM adventure bikes. They sold 3 (tagged with names on the showroom floor), there's 3 left. I had made the decision to wait for a 2025 Tenere but these discounts have me thinking and plotting. I don't trust KTM as a company or for reliability though. And I think I would eventually regret buying their 1290 adventure platform. Someone talk me out of even considering this.

As topic says, if I plug in one of those cheap USB-powered Blu-Ray drives and insert a BD-R disc with MP4-files written in data mode, will Nvidia Shield Pro TV be able to recognize that drive and also play those MP4-files in for example VLC player? Basically as if they were on a USB jump drive.
