Thinking small for the moment. I had a thought of making somewhat of a local family home page. I guess some might call it a local Dashboard.
Unfortunately we live in a windows computer household. But I was thinking about maybe I could make a local webpage to access local files and audio books, pictures, and videos. A lot of my audio books are from my old trucking days. Back when audio books were on CD I converted. We use Kodi for our local DVD collection watching. But maybe linking some family videos to the webpage. Or maybe having a webpage link to run Kodi and that VLC media player. So the family could go straight to the audio books playlist file.
Just thinking it might be neat to have a home page dashboard. Is this idea possible?
I haven't made a webpage since Notepad and Java scrips were the main craze. Everyone always has to ask me. Where this photo is or this family made video is. Just a thought I had the other day. Thanks in advance.

I want to get my notes app to float on top like the sticky notes, but there's no option for that. There is a "bring all to front" option, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
The options it gives under "Window" are

All other options work normally.

I recently updated blender, which caused all my addons to crash, including DAZ importer. I reinstalled it, but unfortunately it doesn't work as it should. The screenshot shows an error that occurs when importing characters or scenes, but I tested it and it turns out that it still imports some objects, for example, individual clothing files or props. I checked the global settings, but everything seems to be as it should be. I remember that I had a similar error, but I don't remember how I solved it. Perhaps this is an error with DAZ itself, but I seriously doubt it.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like culturally tightness is seen as good and looseness is seen as bad universally.
However, in my personal experience I've never really come across too loose, only too tight. And this isn't a humble brag or anything, I'm totally unremarkable in that domain. In fact, I feel like tightness is usually a sign of lack of arousal.

Baby Owl's Big Adventure: Genin! Departing from Auntie’s house, Baby Owl and Mama Cat set out to meet the next family member!
“Who are we going to see next, mama?” Baby Owl asked.
“Genin, my angel friend. They're on vacation for the next few millennia after so many faithful eons to their god!”
Over the rocks, across the water, through the trees and past the fields they traveled, paw in paw!
When Mama and Baby arrived at their next stop, they saw Genin laying on the beach. They seemed to be resting, or thinking. It was such a peaceful day.
As they approached, Genin's head turned to see them. “Ah, Catherine!” They said with glee, “and who is this? I sense great power from her, great power indeed!”
“Genin, this is my baby, Owl Eleanor Amatus! Her mother is the Goddess of Death, Crow Amatus!”
Genin honked a laugh. “Knowing you, I'm not even surprised! You always did find friendship and love with the most unique beings.”
Genin stood to their feet, shaking the sand from their shimmering wings. “A joy to meet you, Owl. I had heard rumors about a new God in our realm, never would have imagined them true, let alone that God was the child of a friend!”
Owl stared up at Genin, their beautiful wings spread wide and shimmering in the light. “Whoa…” Baby Owl thought to herself.
“Come, come! Let us walk, Baby Owl. Getting to meet a new God is one thing, but getting to meet a friend's child? That is far more valuable.”
And so, Baby Owl and Genin walked along the shore. They talked, shared stories, and Mama followed close behind.
When they passed an ice cream stand, Baby Owl couldn't help but stop. It looked so tasty!
Genin took note, and honked again. “Mama Cat, may we have an ice cream?”
Mama Cat sighed, but had a bit of a smile. “Of course, but just one!”
Three Ice Creams, please!
As Mama, Baby and Genin rested, ice cream in hand, Baby Owl purred and tail swayed with such joy.
“Say, Baby Owl,” Genin began, “have you ever seen the world from above?”
Baby Owl paused, face messy with ice cream as she shook her head.
They both looked to Mama Cat, their eyes asking for permission.
Mama smiled and gave them both a nod. “But, stay where I can see!” Mama asked. “Can't have my Hooty leaving my sight.”
“Ice cream, first!” Baby Owl said.
They smiled, and continued to enjoy their tasty treat.
“Goodness, baby Owl, you're such a mess!” Mama Cat cleaned Owl's face free from the ice cream. “I can't tell if you enjoy wearing it or eating it more.”
With baby Owl clean and Mama’s permission, Genin picked Owl up and got her onto their back.
“We'll start slow and low, okay, Baby Owl? Hang on tight!”
Genin ran, and in one mighty leap, began to soar. Their wings flapped with a mighty gust of air, and higher they went.
Baby Owl held on tight to Genin, hugging their back as they looked at the world below.
They were so high up, it felt like a million miles!
“What do you think, Baby Owl? How's the view from the sky?”
“It's so cool, Genin!”
A few more minutes and the two came down, landing next to Mama.
Baby Owl was so happy, everyone could hear her purring!
Mama smiled as she saw how happy her Hooty was.
“Say, Baby Owl,” Genin said again, “I might work for another God, but that doesn't mean I can't help you!”
Baby Owl’s purring only got stronger as she got to do her favorite thing: Make a new contract!
“I, Genin, Angel of the Dawnfather, do pledge my angelic might to you, Owl Eleanor Amatus. When the darkness creeps in, know that my light and strength will guide your way and protect you.”
The contract was made, and both parties signed. This had been such a great day! But, now Baby Owl was feeling sleepy.
She let out a biiiiiiig yawn, and curled up on Genin. “Mama, I'm sleepy. Can I take a nap with Genin…?”
Mama smiled and gave her Hooty a kiss on the head. “As long as they don't mind, I don't mind.”
“The chance to carry around a sleeping little cutie? I'd be a fool to refuse!”
With one big yawn and one big stretch, Owl found her comfy spot on Genin and drifted off to sleep.
“What a precious child,” Genin said as he held Baby Owl close. “I'll do whatever I can to protect you. Promise, Baby Owl.”

2024.11.30 16:47 savetherabbits Had a miserable anniversary that left me rethinking the relationship

I (23 F) have been dating my boyfriend (26 M) for a year. Yesterday was our first anniversary and we decided to go to the same place as our first date and then have dinner together A few days ago he told me he had made an appointment with his therapist and had to be there for 2 hours on the evening of our anniversary from 7:30 to 9:30. His therapist is a really popular one and it’s tough to schedule appointments with him and my boyfriend is moving away soon so he told me he might not be able to see him again and he had to see him in order to continue further appointments online. I was a little disappointed but I told him let’s celebrate in the morning which he refused. So we planned to meet at 6 pm but I couldn’t leave early and ended up getting to his house at 6:45 and ended up having to wait 15 minutes in the cold cause he wasn’t home (he went out to buy me flowers). He gets home and we just go inside and then he leaves so I have to wait for 2 hours while he goes to his therapy session and gets back Then we just have dinner and I leave. I love him so much and everything is okay between us but him scheduling his appointment on the evening of our anniversary made me feel like he doesn’t care. Looking back at it right now it feels like the anniversary of two people who really don’t like each other that much.

Hey everyone, I’m flying to Germany with Air India next week and had a few questions about luggage. 1. I’m carrying an extra laptop battery, a small blender, powerbank, keyboard, mouse and a trimmer. All of these items are brand new and unused. Should I pack them in my cabin luggage or check-in luggage? 2. I also need to take some medication for my cousin (mostly for hair fall issues). These aren’t prescribed in my name. Would this cause any problems during security checks? Should I pack the medication in my cabin luggage or check it in?
Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

So yeah it's been a little over 5 months since I was floxed. And every time I go and lift weights and trying to do my regular workout at the gym I get the worst insomnia at night. Like it shaky and anxiety and terrible insomnia. I think the Cipro damaged my central nervous system. If I don't exercise usually sleep pretty well but as soon as I hit the gym forget it it's back to insomnia-ville and it's really bad. Anybody else on this page have this symptom.?

... The difference is I kind of new I would before the even announced it! :D My idea was remarkably similar to Cat for Cash. In otherwords, I'm insanely unlucky and happened to stumble into the same braincell as some pitcher at GMMTV. u/TheBookHuntress shared her idea so I thought it would be fun to yeet mine out there. Its unlikely to be used ever considering, again, they have Cat for Cash. But I might use the idea to write a book or fanfic at some point. <3
u/dangrankeyi helped me translate and we did agree to change one of the character's names in the official submission but I'm tired and don't want to update his name in what is my original written version.
Mew and Joom first meet as teens in a small, coastal town where the primary commerce is fishing and tourism. Joom has lived his entire life there, growing up on the sandy beaches, helping his family run their small resort, and occasionally visiting the older woman, Granny Pam, next door.
She tells him stories about each of the stray cats she keeps and feeds, of which she has several. Granny Pam takes care of most of the town’s feral cat population and even has a names for them. Her favorite, however, is an old tabby cat named เก้า, whom she uses as the protagonist in her various adventurous stories. In her tales, เก้า travels the world on a little wooden raft, saving princesses and slaying evil creatures.
One day, Granny Pam falls ill. For several days, Joom doesn’t see her. The adults in his life talk in quiet voices when they don’t think he is pay attention. He hears words like “cancer” and “terminal.” He takes over feeding Granny Pam’s many strays and often talks to เก้า, asking him to bring her home.
Like magic, Granny Pam does return home but she’s quieter, smaller, and thinner. She seems fragile. Additionally, there are two new people living in her home: her daughter and fabled grandson, Mew.
Joom doesn’t meet Mew directly until he’s searching for เก้า along the shoreline by Granny Pam’s home. Mew sees him skulking around and assumes he’s there to cause his grandmother trouble. While Joom is bent over, looking under Granny Pam’s house, Mew dumps a bucket of water on him. The two boys quarrel until Granny Pam hobbles out and breaks them up.
They have a tense relationship but tolerate one another’s space for Granny Pam’s benefit, especially as she gets sicker and weaker. Mew soon joins Joom looking for เก้า and despite near constant fighting, it becomes a ritual for them. Over time, they grow reluctantly closer. Instead of looking for เก้า, Joom tells Mew all of the stories that Granny Pam used to tell him. Through stories, they become close friends, begrudgingly inseparable.
Granny Pam passes at the end of summer. Joom and Mew take it hard but the melancholy that descends on Mew is persistent. He is distant and forlorn, always looking out at the sea.
Then one morning before dawn, Joom is woken up by Mew at his bedroom window. He wants to take a boat out to sea to find เก้า, convinced that if they can just find the missing cat, he can bring Granny Pam back. Joom hesitates but at Mew’s pleading, allows himself to be drawn into Mew’s plan.
The morning is grey and overcast and the water is choppy and uneven. Their boat, a dingy borrowed from Joom’s father, is barely able to stay upright. Storm clouds roll in and the weather shifts. Things turn turbulent and murky. Joom argues that they should return back to land. As their argument peaks, so does the weather, a wicked squall slamming into their boat.
Joom is sent overboard. The water closes on him. Things go dark.
He wakes up later swaddled in a warm blanket, unable to move and feeling achy. Panicking, he struggles free and stumbles awkwardly on four paws. Everything seems huge and tall and, upon catching his reflection in a metal dish, he realizes he’s been turned into a cat and he seems to be in a dorm of some kind.
As he makes this connection, Mew enters, clearly older than when Joom last saw him. As things go on, Joom starts to realize that something must have happened that day in the boat. The mystery starts to reveal itself as Mew wakes Joom up mid nightmare and talks at length to “Nine” about the day his best friend died.
Joom is angry, feeling upset that Mew’s stubbornness led him to such a pitiful afterlife. He spends the next few days doing what he can to make Mew’s life more difficult, from yowling at the crack of dawn to clawing Mew’s homework. Things come to a head when the dorm head knocks on the door and Joom tries to make his escape. The dorm head is surprisingly quick and manages to catch Joom by the scruff.
Joom thinks he’s gotten Mew good in trouble but the dorm head, Kit, takes it in stride. He tells Mew that he won’t tell anyone, that “Nine” is a secret between them as long as Mew lets him help care for “Nine.”
What follows from there is Joom, Kit, and Mew working together to sort through each other’s grief. Joom grieves for his lost life, Mew for his hand in it, and Kit in the recent loss of his own lover. Begrudgingly, Joom grows closer to both of them. He can see glimpses of the teen that was his friend in Mew.
Sometimes he feels his heart skip a beat thinking back to those days.
What he doesn’t expect is to feel betrayed when he witnesses Mew and Kit share a kiss one silly, drunken afternoon. He feels blindsided and strangely heartbroken. But what can he really do about it as a cat?
Like I said, there are a lot of similarities between Cat and Cash(though not completely the same). Its so unfortunate that I apparently shared a braincell with someone at GMMTV.
