2024.11.30 16:29 TheKaleKing How to improve performance of directX9 game running on Win 11 WITHOUT 3d accelration?
So there's a super old game called Knight Online that I'm trying to run and am able to run on a windows 11 vm. I'm setting it to as low as it can get so it can run well but the thing is that I can't enable 3d acceleration otherwise, the game detects that it's a VM and it won't run. I've tried enabling it and changing registry keys so it won't recognize that it's a VM but I really haven't been able to find a way and it seems that I really need to disable 3d acceleration so now the game runs but it's at like 5-10 fps.
I've tried giving it more cpus, more ram, more vram but no success in improving FPS. I'm setting the graphics quality as low as possible but still bad fps.
Any ideas on how I could improve the performance of the game without enabling 3d acceleration in vmware? Or perhaps maybe there's a way that I can enable it and hide it to the game even though I've spent hours trying to do that without success.
