2024.11.30 23:01 ballepung I thought that my companion was a CPU and ended up over-analyzing the game's theme(s)
Not really a meme per se, but I ended up laughing at my own stupidity.
So I just finished this beautiful game. Having been told in advance that it's a poetic game (which it is), I went into full film-analysis mode.
While I don't think that the game is meant to be super deep or anything like that, I struggled a bit with the meaning of the companion. I was trying to look for patterns and ended up with the following:
"Your companion represents the ideal you strive towards. They are the type of person you aspire to be like while you journey through life. They are better than you and this is painfully obvious, but in the end you both collapse pretty much at the same spot. Perhaps the idealization was pointless all along?"
As you can probably guess I'm not very good at video games, which is why my companion seemed godlike in comparison!
Learning that they are other players game me a proper laugh at least!
Loved the game, by the way!

Connelly seems to have told Lowe that if a team does not agree with a steward’s decision they have a right to protest (as long as the protest is made within a hour of the decision). "

So I am rewatching the film, when I watched it 20 years ago I remember the scenes with Frank-n-furter with Janet/Brad as just seduction scenes. Rewatching now Im like, "eeek this is a hard watch".
I cant tell where Im going wrong: 1. My teenage brain didnt get that these scenes are supposed to be bad. 2. The film aged badly 3. Something else.

I'm shopping for my first adult bike, primarily for urban commuting, and am trying to narrow down the search based on the following criteria:
- Appropriate size steel or aluminum frame
- More upright, relaxed geometry as opposed to "race" geometry
- No suspension or front gears (added complexity)
- Headset not internally routed, but internal frame routing is fine
- 700C wheels and some degree of tread on the tires
- Able to mount fenders and rear rack
I'd really like something used, but it doesn't hurt to see appropriate new models for reference.

I got a shop and deliver order around midnight, begrudgingly put on a hoodie and drove over to Walgreens to get started.
Loaded 2 6 packs of beer, a couple of those adult lunchables with the cheese and salami and crackers, and a couple bags of chips. Sounded like a fun night for the customer.
Drive a couple blocks down to deliver, and turns out the customer gave me the wrong address.
Hit up support, got the order cancelled, went home to enjoy my free snacks and beer 🥹

 | Got my Age of Darkness as a birthday gift. First time modeling and painting in ~10 years. Part 3 (my tacticals and these gentlemen before detailing are posted as well if you want to check) Decided with Sons of Horus cause I really love first 3 books of HH. Some minor kitbashing involved for variety. Some 3d parts like helmet + shoulder pads for my (ex-) axe praetor. Now he is on a diet without his cape (he looks much better without it IMO) wielding paragon blade and points forward. My second praetor decided to become a chaplain to prolong the heresy among lodges. Points Praetor 165pts (paragon blade, archaeotech pistol) Consular 112pts (chaplain, power maul, volkite serpenta) These guys are finished. Proud of myself tbh. Next squad will be my custom Reavers on mkVI and some termies. My (F18) twin sister (F18) is going to be moving in with my dad in 3 days, she dropped this bomb on thanksgiving and I’ve been super stressed. My mom has been struggling financially but me and my sister always helped her since my dad is kind of a piece of crap and is 5 months behind on child support (me and my sister just recently turned 18 in October) Under different circumstances I would just be looking for a second job but I will be having surgery in December-January and the healing will take, according to my surgeon, 2-4 months. I won’t be able to have a physical job for a while and I’ve been researching on things I can do from home to be able to keep supporting my mom since it’ll just be me and her. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do?
