 | I've realized why I get so attached to certain female characters in media- they remind me of what I wish I was or wish I had. Often times these are powerful women, and I think it's because I can look up to them as someone who would stand up for me when no real person will. Enough of psychoanalysis. Queen Garan is awesome. Her design alone is great. Purple is my favorite color, so no wonder I gravitated to her. Her hair strands have wind physics even when she's indoors. That's how powerful she is. Her courtroom presence demands attention. All her animations are overdramatic, which is something I love (because it reminds me of my own stimming/behaviors that I've tried to suppress). Even her speech bubble is over the top, saying "SUCH INSOLENCE!" instead of "Objection!" Garan's whole deal is so much of my favorite tropes/topics rolled into one. Evil queen is cool enough. She's a high priestess too? Great, I'm fascinated by religion. I also have a strange morbid interest in disturbing legal topics like mob justice and executions, surely she won't have anything to do with that, it's such a nice topic- NOPE. This legend really passed a law saying that if a defendant is convicted and sentenced, their defense attorney will be too. And in her kingdom of Khurain, it's almost always the death penalty. That is so incredibly fucked up. It's terrifying. But as a horror writer, I think it's absolutely brilliant (within the context of fictional storytelling of course!) It's not often you get to meet one of my F/O's families, and I always enjoy it when they have a presence. Garan is actually the aunt of Nahyuta Sahdmadhi, one of my F/Os. I often find that a lot of my favorite characters tend to be quite underrated by fandoms and dear god Garan is UNDERRATED. There is barely any fan content for her (time to get to work!). Like Nahyuta, she gets a lot of hate from the Ace Attorney fandom for some reason. It's not something that personally bothers me, and is actually something that we share a laugh over. I'm sometimes jokingly referred to as "the only Garan enjoyer" on a discord server. Shout out to the person on the server who said she has Patrick Star ahh hair💀 So I take it upon myself to be one of the few fans of my favorite underrated characters. Anyways, I just wanted to gush about one of my favorite platonic characters that gets barely any love. When I was a kid, I wanted to be the "queen of everything"- I think Garan satisfies that silly little fantasy I haven't had in years. Fellas, is it weird to have a tyrannical queen help you reclaim who you really are? It is? I don't care. Its definitely a complicated story. I'm 42F and he's a 41M. We've known one another for 15+ years and dated on and off for about 8-9 of those. His ex-wife absolutely destroyed him. So the inkling of loving someone else makes him freakout. I do love him, and he knows it unfortunately. I'm quite certain he loves me back. But he's so terrified to do anything. So when we do try and date when things start to get serious. He finds some way to veer off and break things off. Or we have a fling, that starts up with us starts us in the direction of dating. Then it crumbles again. We're like magnets. When one of us dating, if the other is single we look out for the other one. When it breaks down, we come right back to each other. If we're both dating we always sort of compare our partners of sorts. Which is shallow, completely petty, and childish. But if either of us become single again, then the other. We smack back together again. It's sooooo stupid. I have several health issues, which are overwhelming to handle. So I get it, that it's a lot to deal with. But we always fit back together like puzzle pieces. Nerdy, geeky, weird puzzle pieces. Btw he's my best friends brother...so there's that too. I'm just kind of lost on what to do. There's so much more to this story. But it would make this post enormous. But this is the bare bones of it. Anyone have any suggestions?

For background context my dad and mom divorced before i was born and i’ve never had a good relationship with him. I often fight, cause illness to myself, and do everything I can to not go there. I am now almost at age to not go and my mom looked at the paperwork and it stated that either when I graduate highschool or turn 18 I can stop going and I will be emancipated and make choices for myself. I am an early grad as I have worked extremely hard to get to this point. The date I’m done with school is December 20th so 19 days away. I want to talk to my dad in person tomorrow (Sunday) before I drive back to my mom’s. I want to do it early because I am not expecting to be here for christmas. I don’t know what to say because I know deep down he will be upset and lots of issues with my step monster will arise. I need advice on how to start the conversation with him and what I should say and do. I will update tomorrow!! please help.
