Hi All, Brand new to this subreddit.
I know next to nothing about knives. I want to gift a knife to a family friend who just retired from the Navy after 25 years of service. He always carries a foldable knife and uses it for every random chore around his house. So, I want something that not only looks cool, but is functional, reliable and very high quality. I will spend up to $700.
Shawn Ryan recommends Strider and Half Face Blades. They are expensive, which I don't mind, but are they worth the money?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I say it wasn’t worth it bc how hard it was, and all we get was bunch of pillow searching to make a fort that frankly doesn’t do much, your army is just a couple smaller replicas of yourself, and cannons that aren’t that powerful, not to mention how much you are targeted by everyone else. I would love to hear your opinions

2024.12.01 01:40 DJBENEFICIAL Failing prints same way 2 times in a row
I've tried 2 different prints, both have failed at the same (roughly 75% of the way through the print) failure is just a clean stop on all parts of the model. The display screen also doesn't say "print completed at 100%, it just stays at 100% and freezes (I have to turn it off and back on to do anything). Please help! Let me know if you've run into this or have any guidance, thanks!

Hi all,
For the last 3 decades, I have had a magic item vendor in my game who sells "lightly used magic items". He appears in every campaign. Essentially, he sells cheap magic items that have a drawback or inconvenience of some kind. The travelling vendor is a shinigami in disguise.
However, I am still new to pf2e and appreciate the fine balance of the game and I want to make sure everything runs smoothly. Before I allow my players to buy anything, I wanted to share my 5e version of the list and if people/GMs with more experience than me can let me know if anything is obviously broken if I converted it to pf2e:

2024.12.01 01:40 Gold_Mushroom9382 Positive for explosives in a carry-on bag in 2016
This happened in 2016. I am a US born citizen with a US passport.
I had already flown internationally and crossed by car a few times into Mexico and Canada. In 2016, I was leaving Hawaii after having lived there for a temporary job. I was really into putting clay masks on my face at the time. I had packed my container of clay powder that I purchased from Amazon in my carry-on because it was heavy and I didn't want to put it in my checked bag. I went through security and my bag was flagged for inspection. The agent pulls out the powder and asks what it is. He then proceeds to wipe it with those little papers and put them in the machine. A few minutes later I saw the screen flashing in big red letters "EXPLOSIVES DETECTED". I was very surprised and cooperated with their request for a pat-down. I had to remove my shoes again, too. They also used the papers on my hands which came up negative for explosives. They asked a few more questions about what I use it for and where I bought it. The agent then told me that he would let me through to my flight but that I could not take the powder. I told him, that's fine, toss it. He did and I flew back to the mainland.
Well, here we are 8 years later and I have flown a handful of times domestically and 4 times internationally. No issues when flying domestic, but EVERY time I am coming home from an international trip, I am pulled at the gate for an extra bag check and pat-down. I don't care but at first I thought it was random but then when it happened again, I thought, hmmmm, this must have to do with that situation back in Hawaii.
This last time coming from Mexico, I was running a bit late and decided to go straight to the counter and asked if they had called my name. (They always call my name to come up for the extra check). I didn't want to delay anything and thought I was being proactive considering I had been checked so many times. Both agents for United said no, that they didn't need me for anything. I told them that I am always checked a second time when going home and that I think I am on some kind of list. I even jokingly said, "are you sure? I would be surprised". They chuckled and said, no, all is well. As I walked away, they said, oh wait, yeah, I see here that you do need to do an additional check before boarding. I smiled and said okay. I told them this story and that I think I am on a list. They didn't share anything and thought it was an interesting story.
I am posting here because I am curious if anyone knows what kind of list I might be on, and how long this will go on? It isn't really anything that I am worried about nor bothers me, but it is an extra step.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there something I could/should do to get "cleared"?

 | I recently purchased the Eufy S1 Pro and have been in love with the thing since day 1. It looks cool, the mopping is phenomenal and overall does everything I need it to do well. While I was researching the Eufy for months before pulling the trigger, I also came across the 3i S10 Ultra and was very intrigued by this thing. I’d buy this over the Eufy if it wasn’t for its starting price and design. I got the Eufy from Amazon during their Black Friday week for $999. The s10 starts at 1899 but is currently on sale 1519. If the design were better than the Eufy, I would have payed the extra 500 dollars for it I have not seen this robot covered much on Reddit so I just wanted to bring it here for discussion! Here are it’s stand out features.

I am Christian, and sometimes when bad things happen, which seems to be happening a lot lately, I get mad at God, but I go to bed and wake up back to normal and ask for forgiveness. Matthew 12:31-32 really scare me, the idea of blasphemy being unforgivable. Can someone help ease my mind.

2024.12.01 01:40 Raisincookie1 You guys see a difference between 2nd generation immigrants and 3rd generation immigrants?
for my workplace, it's a huge cheap japanese department store and so the staff roster is also pretty big, It consists of MOSTLY 2nd generation and 1st generation immigrants, which for me is the norm(statistically). It wasn't till I was working with this particular person. He's always been the most consistent, experienced and communicative employee at the place. If he got trained for it he'd make a great manager and pretty young too. Great guy, he hangs out with us when me and my workmates go on break a nd is quite down to earth.
Overall the way he conducts himself isn't the same as my peers in the sense that he's actually quite genuine in his attitudes and interests towards the job and especially with how well adjusted he is, I've never seen him stressed or agitated, which in this job is quite common as it can get chaotic at times. It's like he was raised by the right sort of parents and it definitely reflects that in the way he conducts himself as well as his role at my workplace.
While we were working i asked about him about his background, as i was pretty impressed with how well adjusted he is and how he has so much composure all while on the job. And after a bit of talking, he said that one his parents moved to Australia from China really early on in their lives and the other was already born there which got me thinking. Honestly, it all makes sense.
He was born with Parents who were used to the western way of thinking and western sensibilities. It only makes sense that with him being 3rd generation that he turned out to be quite mentally sound and stable. Contrast that with my 2nd generation peers who have a lot of deep seeded trauma and issues relating to their upbringing and are still dealing with it to this day. I feel like it further drives the point that Asian parenting does not work at all work in the west and only creates stunted people (im one of them). Where as the western way of thinking encourages individual thought and freedom and has benefitted him, plain to see.
