Hello,
The childhood home I grew up in was a condo, on the second floor. The previous owners were a husband and wife who moved shortly after the birth of their child; at this point, my parents bought it. I was born a few years after.
I lived in this home until I was about 14 years old. Throughout my early childhood, I was very terrified all the time. I had regular nightmares, and always had the 'creeps' in the condo. This is past the regular, young children get scared easy level.
Some of the reoccurring nightmares I'd have:
- Being in a department store or some such place of business, with a tall man in a black cloak following me. He would not be standing straight, but rather, bent like 90 degrees, if that makes sense. Whenever anyone else would see him in the dream, he would immediately appear upright and normal.
- Grim reaper coming up the steps of the condo to the door.
- Dreams of bad things happening in the apartment, and trying to scream but not being able to.
- There are a lot more that I can't remember as clearly anymore.
One time, I was going to the bathroom, and I saw a girl whose skin was yellow/glowing, with bright eyes, run by me.
Another time, I woke up and saw a man standing and staring at me.
My parents were oblivious to all of this activity. They never once sensed, or saw anything there. By the time I hit puberty, a lot of my experiences stopped, but I always had the creeps and uneasy feelings.
My parents also fought a lot in this house, and my dad was pretty harsh and difficult when it came to raising me. This all changed when we moved - my parents fought considerably less, and my relationship with my dad improved.
Things I know for sure:
- No one died in this house.
- Only one set of owners, a husband and wife, who had just had a new baby and moved, before we bought it.
- None of the neighbors kids ever had issues or said anything about their rooms or houses being haunted.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, or similar experiences. We still own the house, but it's been rented out all this time. None of our renters have ever said anything.
