2024.12.01 02:20 reallycashonly AITAH for abandoning my boyfriend at his friends birthday party?
I (26F) have been dating Jake (28M) for two years, and he’s incredibly close with his best friend Liam (29M). I’ve always respected their friendship, but something has been bothering me in the lead-up to Liam’s birthday party this past weekend.
A week before the party, Jake made an offhand comment about how Liam “deserves the best birthday ever” and jokingly added, “Maybe you should give him private dance.” I laughed it off because I thought he was being silly and drunk but over the next few days, he kept bringing it up over and over
For example, a few nights before the party, Jake mentioned how Liam’s been single for a while and joked, “You’d probably make his whole year if you did something like that.” Another time, he said something like, “If you did it, I’d definitely win the award for best friend ever.”
I kept brushing it off as weird humor, but every time he mentioned it, I felt more uncomfortable. It was hard to tell if he was seriously testing the waters or just trying to mess with me. By the time the party rolled around, I was so on edge about it.
During the party, thankfully, Jake didn’t bring it up in front of everyone. But at one point when Liam was opening gifts, Jake leaned over to me and whispered, “So, do you have a dance planned?” I just glared at him and said, “Stop it.” He laughed and said, “Relax, it’s a joke!”
Now, I can’t stop thinking about it. I feel like Jake crossed a line by bringing it up repeatedly, even if he says he was joking. I don’t think it’s okay to make me feel like I’m some kind of object he can offer up for a laugh—or is he serious? Does he want to see me dance for his friend like ? Why would he even say something like that so many times if he didn’t mean something by it?
I was so upset at that point I needed space so I left.
Am I the asshole?

just ordered my first thinkpad today (technically). its a T450 with a core i5 5300u and a 8gb stick of ram and a 1600x900 display and backlit keyboard and the extended range external battery. As for the laptop im coming from, its a low equipped model of the dell latitude e5440 with a core i5 4210u and 8gb ram and a 500gb sshd. Also the t450 is in mint condition and only issue is missing plastic near charging port but that does not matter. To get to the point, does anyone have any advice and how i could deal with the rubber lid, and just general thinkpad advice? I'm probably going to either run windows 7, 8.1 or an early build of 10 like 1511 or 1607 and or even possibly 1703

2024.12.01 02:20 Thelaststep100 One of my childhood friend hung himself nearly a year ago and I don’t know why he did it.
He was one of the most confident care free person I met. He was fearless, I just can’t understand why he did it. We met in primary school and became very good friends. He introduced me to cod zombies, I religiously played zombies because of his influence. I literally got to level 300 odd on BO3.
We stoped hanging around for a while because he was a year above me and went into high school well I was still in primary. Eventually due to unfortunate events we both got kicked out of high school and a few years later I met up with another friend and he was there. He didn’t recognise me at first because of puberty but when the friend who invited me out said who it was he got ecstatic and did as well. We started hanging around a lot again but a lot of drugs were involved and I realised we were all going down a bad path so I stopped going out after having 2 brain bleeds from falling over, drunk and drugged on Xanax.
I guess I feel guilty because I removed myself from that group and I never got to speak to him before he decided to commit sucide. I genuinely love the guy he always had my back, ferrous but loyal. I’ll never forget him. I know deep down he was a good lad. RIP

hello comrades, i am an artist and author and developing a story where a big part of the story takes place in the ussr. The exact dates are not decided yet. A big part of the story is involving spies and secret services, and mutated supersoldiers using alien technology recovered from a crashed meteorite but let us not get ahead of ourselves.
I have trouble finding a good source for the uniforms the different branches of the red army and secret police would wear. Anyone has any idea? I will be messing around with the designs for some characters since this IS a urban fantasy/sci fi story but i like grounding it in reality
