A character in my story is basically a Mithridates (the guy who microdosed on various poisons to make himself immune/resistant to them) who uses wine made from toxic berry plants to kill their enemies.
But I'm not sure if the toxins would get through the fermenting process, or if the chemicals would be diluted/evaporated/counteracted/etc.
I've tried to research this scenario and nothing has come up, though I'm probably on the FBI's radar now.

 | I've been working on this complex preliminary painting before I attempt the real thing and I am struggling to conceptualise all those forms unifying in a realistic way. Is photo references the only way to make it work? How about when elements are physically impossible? Is it just a tone of guess work and practice observing life that informs you on what something should look like? I've done a clay model of my ideas and this what you can see in my drawing but I found that the model has inherent flaws so it cannot be take as an empirical reference when it comes to proportions, textures and so on. I got my cat, Neville Kittenbottom, November 9th, 2014. On the way home I held his paw in my hand and promised not matter what, it was me and him til the end. He was my first pet after moving out. He would tap my face to wake me up. If I had a panic attack he'd sit on my back until I calmed down. He had massive ears that he never quite grew into. He could open doors and would tap his butt against my leg when he was excited for food. I knew my wife was the one when he immediately approached her like an old friend. We used to play fetch and he'd throw toys so high in the air they'd hit the ceiling. We found out he had pancreatic cancer after he swallowed a bunch of string and had emergency surgery. When it came back 8 months later in May 2023, I asked him for one more year to make it 10 if he could do it. On November 6 he pressed his forehead to mine for a long time and went around the corner. When he came back, I knew he felt bad by his eyes. We said goodbye to each other on November 9, 2024 with our foreheads pressed together. I hugged him after and he was so empty. No purring. It was so strange. I need to talk to someone, but right now I feel so lost. I miss my friend so much.

We are having our white elephant (no gag gifts, 20-30$, only 1 steal so whatever you get is probably yours) in a couple weeks, and I was considering adding a few (maybe 3?) decants of some of my fragrances (Guerlain, BDK, PDM? Nothing too challenging or niche). In the bag already is some lotion and a cafe gift card. I'd hate for the decants to be thrown out, but 2mL also isn't a big loss if so.
Some office details: I work for the federal government in civil rights, we all work from home most days, age/gender are widely varied, unknown if anyone in the office is 'into' perfumes.

This isn't a mechanic question but a lore one. Since the spell causes the person to view you as friendly, does that mean that a person with this spell would make an excellent therapist? Unresponsive after trauma caused by some event? Bam, charm person! Will they be willing to talk to that person only or would they still remain unresponsive?

So much renovation has become tearing out old fads and putting in new fads. From posts on reddit to tv shows people are tearing out granite countertops to install a different pattern of granite. Throw a year's income into cosmetic changes and complain ~ expensive housing and surprise repairs on home necessities. Many common issues especially with style really only need cleaning and maintenance. There are exceptions but many beautiful and well made features are destroyed every year to be replaced with the same crop that everyone else has. As natural materials like stone and wood are not replenished at the rate of consumption, the new materials are often inferior to the originals. I.e. Lumber from old growth forests are not available anymore. What do you think about this trend?

Hey everybody, I'm working on a teenage horror board game for class. Specifically, this game is about the horror of being in a friend group where one member has harmed another, and the few who do care fight to change the friend group while keeping everyone together.
My goal with it is to show how hard it is to get people in a friend group to care enough to act when most people want to ignore conflict.
The game revolves around players gaining Bonds with non-player Friends (and defaming or kicking out the other player(s)) while keeping the stress of the Friends low so that no one leaves the group (which leads to everyone losing).
Originally the only roles were going to be the 'Perpetrator' and the 'Victim / Survivor' roles (names pending). I figure this game could be more interesting with more than 2 or 4 players but I'm having trouble with more roles.
I have two different win condition ideas:
- You win by ending the game with the most total Bond, and you can try to kick your enemy out of the group as well.
- The Survivor wins by kicking out the Perpetrator, and the Perpetrator wins by not being kicked out. The game would end after X turns.
Currently the design has 3 roles, the Perp, the Survivor, and the Ally of the Survivor which has a chance of secretly being a Toxic Friend.
Any advice on making good roles and balance between these is very appreciated, thank you!

2024.12.01 02:21 Ok-Willow-4232 American Truck Sim: My first day.
Earlier today (specifically this morning), I decided to look into ATS after seeing YouTubers like Big Puffer, ElasticDroid, Pezzy, and Linus from LTT play the game. Since it was $5 thanks to Steam’s seasonal sale, I figured I would give it a shot. All I’ve gotta say is my GOD is it addicting. I burned all of today just putting miles down. I finished my first IRL working day just 10 minutes ago.
Even though the game itself is good and I will definitely play it for many more hours to come, there are some things that I really don’t like about it.
Traffic Enforcement Cops. Road pirates. Five Oh. The Bears. The police in American Truck Sim are AWFUL. They are SO nit picky! I’ve already racked up $5,000 in tickets ALONE today, in the span of 12 HOURS. A VAST MAJORITY of them are for stupid things like not having lights on IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY or going 5 over the speed limit. These are the little things that made it incredibly hard to get my first truck because they were just knocking me every chance they got.
4 Wheelers While Heavy Hauling This is what drove me up the wall insane about ATS today. The other motorists who are not truckers themselves. While dealing with them during light hauling with 53’s and other similarly sized trailers, they made my life on the road CONSIDERABLY HARDER when heavy hauling! Every time I’d try to time a gap to merge, they’d slow down and fuck me! The worst of it all is when I’d make a wide turn to clear a wall, they’d block there too! The AI for them is dumber than the NHTSA itself!
My Overall Thoughts My overall thoughts are that I love the game. While there were some noob mistakes made (particularly in the first 2 hours), I have zero complaints about the game except for the aforementioned above. Memorizing the controls was relatively easy, the user interface is very intuitive and holds your hand when you need it to, and the environments in the game are like no other. If I had to rate the game 1 through 10, it’d blow past 10 with ease. I would wholeheartedly recommend the game to anyone!
