Hi,
I (16M) have been strongly considering getting my own dog for years (but basically my whole life). I have decided that if I were to do so, it would work out best for me to get a puppy right around my 17th birthday in April. This is because I will be coming up on the end of the school year, snowy season will have just ended, and it would also be just before spring break. Then, if I go to college, the dog would be over a year and a half old and well trained by then.
We have two family dogs, and I have a lot of experience with pets (guinea pigs, rats, mice, fish, cats, you name it). I have spoken with my parents about this a million times before, and they have no doubts in my capability to take care of a dog, their only worry is what time I may be spending in class for college, and they worry about a dog getting in the way of going out with friends (but I rarely ever do that and I hate parties and drunk people makes me scared).
Now, there is a strong chance that I will be going to art school, meaning (if I get into the one I want to) I will not really have studying/homework to do, just art to make, so I think I would be able to dedicate time to my dog.
The next point is, I am autistic and my main struggle is sensory processing, and I have found that when I can play with my dogs fur or have them on top of me it helps a lot in calming down, so I think that having a dog could be beneficial for me too in that way. I have considered trying to train the dog as a service dog, but I do understand that there is a chance the training won’t go right for that. However, ideally, having the dog trained for service dog work would be the best case scenario.
Branching off of that bit about autism, my special interest is animals so my life kind of revolves around animals/my pets, so I think it would even be hard for me to go to college and not have a dog with me.
I am working on the financial aspects, trying to find a job, and will not be getting a dog until I have $500 for initial expenses, plus a good portion of my goal of $1,000 for yearly expenses, and some in an emergency fund which I would hope to save up to $5,000 in.
I have been working on this plan for a while now, but if you guys could point out any issues with it so I can try to fill in the gaps before I officially present this to my parents, I would appreciate it a lot.

It's been burning under my nails for a while now, for I really do not understand it. When did male society come to the point to dislike red and derived colors so much? Historically in Christian society Jesus has worn red and Maria blue, while a common royal color was red. Not too sure about the exact reasons beyond "those pigments were expensive and rare" and possible "blood and warfare are mostly done by men, so they get the color of blood" and for Maria something with the sky or heaven? Only guesses.
I really like my tiedye shirt in white, pink and purple, and this is not looking for affirmation it's alright to wear it, I am curious to read why it's not deemed masculine any longer to wear these colors. When have we come to the point of masculinity being robbed by the mere presence of a certain color spectrum, or rather a mix of wavelenghts like RGB 252, 142, 197?

Baby cried for 13 hours on and off. The last 2 hours it was non stop no matter what we tried. Diaper changes (2 poopy and 1 wet in that 2 hours). Breastfed, tried bottle feeding too (wouldnt take to either). Rocking, sushing, burping, skin to skin, swaddle, warm, cool, bath, warm rag cold rag on forehead (thats worked in the past).
Essentially saying nothing worked up until the pain of my baby crying non stop hurt me so much that i just started crying holding her on the bed because i just felt like she was in pain and i want able to figure it out. She immediately stopped crying, and fell asleep. Its been 30 minutes and now i cant sleep because im terrified she will just stop breathing in her sleep.
My husband stood over me crying and rubbing me while i cried over her. He said he felt so helpless for both of us and didnt know what else to do.
Am i alone? Is this the purple stage? Is it really like this everyday for months?
Baby is 4 weeks old as of today.

I'm an amateur astronomer at best, and at worst, I've done a lot of astrophotography, but I have an engineering background (never finished my degree, but I have a ton of adjacent experience from school), nearly 15 years of technician experience, I've worked in national labs and I've worked on several particle accelerators, I'm an engineering technician at the end of the day. What would be in my way to work as a technician on the big stuff like the big radio telescope arrays, the giant reflectors and refactors.
I don't know how applicable this is reddit, just help me pursue my dreams
