2024.12.01 04:48 RoFlambeaux XBSX2 resolution issues - darkwatch game
I'm not sure who or where to ask this, but I've run into an issue with the xbsx2 stand alone emulator trying to run the game darkwatch. This is the only game that I have had this issue with so far, though i have an admittedly small sample size. Every time I start this game, the resolution defaults to 1920x672 and it ends up cutting off the bottom half of my screen. This is with the internal resolution set to 3x (~1080p). If i change it to native, it becomes 640x224, and so on and so on. I can't seem to find any combination of settings to change on or off in any way to make this game actually playable. I've been googling and playing with settings for over an hour. I checked the emulator wiki and found no mention of it as a known bug. I found one other person with the same issue but no answers on how to fix it. Any ideas?

Hello, I am still pretty new to the game (I have around 16 hours) and I have been playing in a world with some friends. I just launched the pressure rocket 4 times but we see no difference on the statistics board after launching. We get the meteor shower but the multiplier bonus does not seem to be working. I tried researching everything I could but I am still left confused. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

So if i'm not wrong back in the old days the mixture of the engine was richer, so the unburnt fuel would "bang" out of the exhaust pipe
I'm quite ignorant about turbochargers but from what i've read the effect is similar in how they reduce the lag of the turbocharger, only louder
...so it's the same thing? Or they're still two different things that have different purposes? Like, aside from the anti-lag system, is the mixture air-fuel still richer than normal? So that effect of backfire would happen anyway?
I'm not practical with engine terms, so if you can explain and if these things exist in road cars, like i know about turbodiesel but usually petrol cars don't have turbochargers (talking about my limited experience in my life) so i guess it's a motorsport thing, or specific in race vehicles?
thanks in advance, as i said keep in mind i'm ignorant in this stuff just know that the turbo should increase the pressure of the air in the combustion chamber

Writing a little obit for one of my players' AToW characters who died tonight.
Stuart Manderly Stuart Manderly was a self-made Solaris jock and self-proclaimed #1 fan of Duncan Fisher. Well known for his avid collection of Duncan Fisher combat trivids and highly effective BattleMech physical combat prowess, Manderly was also fondly remembered for his affable difficulty reading and his ever-present Speak 'n Spell: BattleMechs. The Solaris Resistance, and later the Kittery Resistance, considered him a boon even despite his loose cannon tendencies.
Escaping RMBU-105 with Devlin Stone as one of the founding members of the Kittery Resistance, Manderly distinguished himself from his captured Blakist Gurkha. Years of dirty fighting up close in Solaris' less savory circuits were put to good use as Manderly's highly-adept application of the 'Mech's sword tore swathes through vital Blakist support assets and objectives. His crowning moment in the resistance was the capture of a near-mint condition Clanbuster Black Knight, able to disable the pilot with pinpoint fire while causing no internal damage to the heavy 'Mech.
Unfortunately, Manderly would only be able to pilot his new salvage once. As the Kittery Resistance was hit by a Blakist VX gas attack, Manderly and other surviving members of his lance would scramble to their 'Mechs to try and rout an air-assault death squad sent to mop up the evacuating resistance members. Unfortunately, a strike from a Word battle armored trooper would result in a compound fracture in his left leg. Bleeding profusely and passing out from shock, Manderly was unable to stop his 'Mech from toppling. The fall crushed his arm and left the MechWarrior helplessly bleeding out in his cockpit—a fate not unlike the one Manderly himself delivered to the 'Mech's previous owner.
Stuart Manderly died at 19:20 on 03/20/3071, at age 26. He is survived by no living heir or widow. His Gurkha and Black Knight remain unclaimed in the contaminated zone as of writing.

I'm a NeverMo who finds Mormon history and sociology absolutely fascinating. (I think the church, however, is an institution led by con artists who've made earnest people afraid to leave.)
Maybe it's because I've never been a Mormon, but the Q15's various titles ("prophets", "seers", and "revelators") seem laughably arrogant. There's a lot of Mormon jargon that sounds odd or clunky to me, but the aforementioned three words stand out to me as particularly haughty and ridiculous.
A prophet, seer, or revelator has access to the opinions and wishes of supernatural beings. These are enormous titles to bestow on flawed men, especially when said men tend to lack life-changing wisdom or accurate predictions.
When you were still a TBM, did you ever think the terms "prophet" or "seer" or "revelator" (or hell, even "special witness") seemed unreasonably confident or full of hubris? The mere notion that fifteen geriatric strangers in Salt Lake City have the gift of "prophecy" makes me snicker.

so i’m currently a senior about to graduate this may with a bachelor’s of science in psychology. I am currently applying to graduate school programs for industrial organizational psychology, and hope to start fall of 2025. That being said, after graduation i hope to attain a summer internship or position that relates to the field and has decent pay for what i’ve got, not expecting something crazy, but just the best i can do for where im at right now. As i start to look into applying where i can, i was wondering what position titles i should be on the lookout for in order to break my way into the industry? also open to courses or certifications i can take post grad to make myself more competitive.
