Anyone here have a parent who is addicted to screens or more specifically Youtube?
I feel like I've lost my dad to fucking YouTube.
It's like crack for the tendency to have special interests. I know so goddamn much about Tesla, I could scream. I would love to never have another conversation about that company, their products, or the hateful man peacocking at its helm.
But YouTube's algorithm incessantly FEEDS my dad clickbait video after clickbait video and it's like his once dynamic, ASD (now we know) mind has become so myopic. He's a broken record. His ability to be curious about other people has all but disappeared. He rarely checks in and asks how I am or injured what is going on in my world.
It feels like he has immersed himself in a digital world and can't remember that there is a real one all around him. He is unhappy and constantly laments being unhappier now than ever before.
Have you been able to have a conversation with you parent about screen addiction? Any advice?
He actually is open to feedback if I bring it up in a very loving way.
Anyway, I am just grieving. He is so lonely but who YouTube is turning him into is someone I actively don't want to be around. We already had our challenges and now it feels like the good parts there were are getting deleted and written over by fucking YouTube brainwashing. I hate it so much.

Good Morning everyone. I'm a 35M looking for a partner to write stories that make you get really into character and give a lot of feels. I am looking for a partner that has a similar time zone (EST/UTC-5) but that's not a deal breaker. I am also looking for for someone who is at least around my age as well.
My writing style is third person in past tense. Depending on what's going on, at minimum I write an paragraph and max about three or four. I typically feed on my partner's energy. The more you inspire me in your writings, the more I will give back.
I enjoy writing Romantic and Slice of Life stories with OC characters. I don't really like roleplaying fandom characters as I don't think I can truly express those characters. Fantasy and Modern are my comfort zone for the world of my stories but I can work with Sci-Fi and Post-Apocalypse if that is your cup of tea. Here are some concepts that I've wanted to do:
Broken but Whole - My character returns back to his hometown after the lost of his wife and child. He meets with his old childhood friend who also had a rough life. Through their pain, love blooms and they learn to heal together.
Bucket List - My character has a friendly encounter with an old friend. After a few drinks over dinner, it is discovered that my character is dying of cancer. Wanting to make the rest of his time enjoying but accomplishing his dreams or make him want to fight to say alive, they grow close.
Opposites Attract - My character comes from money and in order to keep an image of being the same as everyone else agrees to a blind date with someone who was paid to do this publicity stunt. After a rough start, they learn that they have quite a bit in common and continue to see each other after the first day.
I have others but if you see something you like and want to change that, I can work with you. All I ask if that there is communication. I am able to reply daily and I understand real life happens but just let me know if you get busy after a few days or if you're not interested anymore. Also, I only role play on discord. The Boeing C-17 made its rough landed on Barksdale AFB with Guardsman of the 36th Infantry Division. One of them, 1LT Matthew Conrad, was eagerly waiting to get back home to Grace. He had kept a picture of her to the personnel under his command and a certain special picture when he really missed her. The first thing everyone was talking about as they were grabbing their gear was what were they going to eat first. PVT Gonzales mentioned his abuela's famous carde casada stew with CPL Williams mentioned just wanting a triple meat burger from Whataburger. SFC Catalano just wanted to relax on the couch, crack open a cold one with a hot dog and chips, and watch the Astros play. Matthew smiled and mentioned missing Grace's chicken fried steak with homemade gravy.
He was hoping that Grace would be there. They were married yet so she didn't have a dependent ID like the other spouses but he did make sure that she was on the list to get through the gates to make it. After the door to the plane opened, mostly everyone was marching quickly to find their spouses, parents, and kids. He saw MAJ Thomas rushing up to kiss his wife since he was the only who paid for the first kiss of home coming. He saw SGT Levering finally propose to his girlfriend of ten years. Matthew was surprised she wanted that long for him but that was a good woman in his eyes. His mind turned back to Grace. He hopped that being gone for long didn't affect her love for him. Since they started dating, he never missed a date nor a moment to spend time with her. He even went with her to visit her mother as the hospital when he was hit by a drunk driver. Luckily the worst injury was a broken leg.
Shaking PFC Peterson's hand when he thanked him for getting me back, he remembered that moment then he knocked him over before a sniper's bullet would have taken his life. It almost would have taken Matthew's life but lucky for him it grazed the helmet. Seeing him give his family a big hug made him smile. Peterson has a big family and if he was wonder if Grace wanted lots of kids. He remembered they were talking about baby names but it was more of a thought of the future.
He finally took the time to scan around for Grace when he noticed that his right hand was shaking. Making a fist and keeping it behind him. Grace always worried about him. He remembered a weekend when he got a terrible cold and Grace made him stay in bed and make him some chicken noodle soup and basically mothered him so he could have recover quickly. Giving a deep sigh, he finally spotted her. She was a fish out of water here as she looked like she was indeed the wrong place. He didn't expect anything different. This was her first time on the fort. But she was wearing the dress he got her before he left and she was looking rather ravishing. Slowly he managed through all the happy family before standing behind her.

Weirdly it only affects Lowes and no other online retailers. If I switch my phone to cellular data (diable wifi) everything works fine, however. It seems my IP has been banned by lowes or a CDN somewhere and can't tell exactly where, or maybe it picked up a new IP from a new DHCP lease some time ago and I hadn't noticed? Also weird is that some sites report my geolocation as being in the wrong state (in a border city I'm near). Aside from blindly power cycling my OTN and hoping for a new IP, anyone have any idea if that's something a customer can request?

I’ve dealt with on and off PVCs for a little over two years now, and today for the first time I experienced something like this. Twice today I’ve had this strange sinking heartbeat. It feels almost as thought my heart is out of place or actively falling, almost like it’s gotten heavier for a second.
When my heart does that it messes with my head a little too, and I get the falling sensation all over.
I’m not sure what this is and want to know if anyone else who has PVCs has experienced something like this? It’s incredibly scary.
