So, my apartment building has a cool mural across the street facing wall and someone made it a pokestop. Except, there’s a Taco Bell a few blocks away, and (I’m assuming) some Taco Bell employee moved the mural pokestop directly in front of Taco Bell.
I live in one of the apartments within the mural and was so psyched to have non-stop pokestop spins and spawns.
I got Wayfarer to move it to the right place (literally my living room), but for months….no spawns. Like, seriously, 2 an hour if I was lucky.
All of a sudden….zillions of spawns. It struck me that Niantic must have finally done some kind of map update and this whole time the pokestop move wasn’t really registering.
Sorry for the long all text post, I’m just so excited to have a pokestop in my living room smothered in spawns after months of sadness.
I have agoraphobia so I’m home most of the time. I am a very happy Pogo player now!

I've just finished painting a few boards for bookshelves with BIN shellac primer. I used some old crappy paintbrushes because I didn't want to bother with ammonia etc. I just did a bit of reading here on Reddit and now I'm petrified to throw them away! I painted outside in the open carport, with a breeze but now I'm worried about the dryer and hot water heater (gas) and parking cars under there while the paintbrush and paper towels (I used to catch small drips) are out there drying. How long do I wait? Can I throw them away in the regular trash? Do I need to go to a hazardous waste facility? lol And what about the bit of BIN that accumulated in the rim of the can when I poured it?

At the Institute for Mystical Experience Research and Education (IMERE), we are dedicated to empirical research on mystical experiences. Soooo I am really over these stick-up battery cameras. I have 2. Frequently they go offline without reason. Some hours later they come back on by themselves. I’ve had them about 2 months now.
Today I charged both batteries. Put them back in. Pressed the button to reconnect. And nothing. Cant reconnect. Tried re-adding them and set up tails at 95%. What am I doing wrong? I have a Ring doorbell (had it for about a year) and it just reconnects fine when I put the battery back in. Never have any of these problems.
I have these 2 cameras outside so I have a wifi extender within about 3m of both cameras. Full signal strength. I have tried connecting to the extender and bringing them inside and connecting to my router (this was how I had them for a week or so before realising I needed an extender for these cameras due to location) but cant get it working. I’ve reset the extender & router and I’m just out of ideas completely now.

My transmission blew at 146k 6 weeks ago. I had a rebuilt transmission put in. Started to smell some burning fluid so I brought it back. Mechanic said the transfer case output seals and valve cover were leaking oil, and the front right Axel boot was also leaking fluid. Had it all repaired, now the escape is slow to start. I turn the key, it cranks, just takes an abnormal amount of time between turning the key and engine start. What could this new issue be?

2025.01.18 05:21 Mundane-Turnover-913 (Theory) Escape from New York and L.A are in the same universe as Evil Biff's Back to the Future II
We see that in Back to the Future Part II (1989), that old Biff Tannen steals the time machine and uses it to go back to 1955 and give the Sports Almanac to his younger self, introducing a new much darker timeline that significantly changes world history. The world presented to us in this alternate timeline could even be described as dystopian, which isn't surprising given the easter eggs we see in the film. We find out that in this timeline, the Vietnam War continues deep into the 1980s, and Richard Nixon isn't exposed in the Watergate Scandal (likely do to Biff who probably is friends with Nixon in this timeline), meaning Nixon abolishes that two term limit and continues to be president by 1985 (ala Watchmen).
In the Escape From movies including Escape from New York (1981) and Escape from L.A (1996), we know that America seemingly goes right down the crapper for reasons never fully explained to us. We know that in 1988, the crime rate in the US has risen by a whopping 400%, in the midst of what can only be described as World War III. In this timeline, the Soviet Union continues to be a dominant world power and forms a powerful alliance with China against the west. We know this has escalated into a full war, since it's mentioned that Snake Plissken flew in Leningrad, which is obviously enemy territory, and Hauk even mentions that they're at war. For reasons unknown, this war doesn't go nuclear, but maybe they signed some type of mutual agreement, who knows.
Either way, we never find out why in the Escape From universe, these historical events are so drastically different to our own. Why does tension between the US and the Soviet Union escalate to the point of war by the late 80s? I think if we apply the Back to the Future II timeline, it suddenly makes a lot of sense. In a timeline where Biff attains wealth and power, he befriends President Nixon (a man who we know deliberately sabotaged the war effort in order to get elected), and uses his wealth to keep Nixon's scandals hidden from the public, maybe with the idea that Biff himself will run for President one day. We also know as mentioned earlier that because of this alliance, the war in Vietnam doesn't end in 1975, but rages on a decade longer. It's not too hard to believe that these events would cause a timeline where the Soviets more directly begin warring with America. Clearly, peace cannot occur in a timeline where Biff and Nixon are controlling America.
Another thing, is that Escape From New York shows crime rates have risen by 400% in the US. In BTTF2, we see that crime rates have clearly risen. Biff has bought out the police department and clearly little to no criminals are actually being arrested, likely the only people being arrested are Biff's business or political opponents. I mean we see that things like drive-by shootings happen on a regular basis and fucking TANKS are just rolling down the street, almost like Hill Valley has become a war zone. It's not hard to think that THIS is where the crime rates rise by 400%, because of Biff and Nixon corrupting America beyond recognition.
Why then, you might be wondering, do we not see or hear about Biff in either of the Escape From movies? Simple: he's dead. It was revealed at some point that eventually the abused and practically enslaved Lorraine, sees no way out of her situation than to simply kill Biff, which she does by shooting him in 1996, shortly after she discovered his involvement in George McFly's murder. Escape From New York takes place in 1997, meaning Nixon and Biff would both be dead, Nixon in 1994 and Biff in 1996. The world we see in the Escape From movies, is a world permanently damaged by their combined power. America may have a new President by 1997, but it doesn't matter, the damage has been done, and the new President was shown to be a fairly artificial person by film's end anyway, meaning America is far from the road to recovery.
Another interesting detail to note is that Buck Flowers was in both Escape from New York and Back to the Future. In one he plays an inmate who Snake initially believes is the kidnapped POTUS but turns out to be a drunken prisoner. In BTTF he plays the former Mayor of Hill Valley: Red Thomas, and eventually becomes Red the Bum by the 80s. What if Biff sent Red to the New York prison due to vagrancy outside his Tower, or plain old wanting to get rid of old politicians? Maybe in this alternate timeline, Red attempts to run for Mayor again and actually gains popularity due to being more of a representation of the common American that the Nixon-Tannen Administration neglect. So, they conspire to have him arrested and sent to the New York prison. Maybe that's why he thinks he's the President in Escape From New York. He's recalling his days as Mayor.
Another thing I noticed was the newspaper reporting George's murder mentioned the Indian Wounded Knee Occupation of 1973. While that is period accurate, it could also tie into Escape From New York, since the World Trade Center is actually occupied by Native American criminals. Maybe in this timeline, the Wounded Knee Occupation went on longer because of Biff having the President's ear, resulting in Natives continuing to protest against the US government, and eventually ending in many Natives being arrested and sent to New York. There they take over one of America's greatest symbols as a further sign of protest in Escape From L.A, we even find out that an earthquake in 1998, completely separates Los Angeles from the rest of the continental United States. Hill Valley is in Caifornia, and President Uncle Ben mentions that LA held the most so-called sinners, and that the earthquake was God punishing the wicked. If LA isn't that far from Hill Valley, which is where this entire timeline revolved around, it's not surprising that LA would be equally if not more crime-ridden.
In short, in this timeline, Biff Tannen befriends Nixon, keeps him from becoming scandalized and allows the Vietnam war to rage on until at least 1988. War with the Soviet Union and China ensues, and crime rates rise by 400% due to the government's focus on their problems overseas, combined with general negligence. When Nixon and Biff die in 1994 and 96, a new President is elected who is also vain and because of Snake switching tapes at the end, peace is not made, and the war rages on, eventually leading to a tyrannical theocratic dictator of a President to take power, and leaving Earth with only one realistic route to peace: using the Sword of Damocles satellite to rid the world of it's power, and start the world over again with a clean slate.

- Start by waking up at desired time instead of sleeping at desired time.
- Get sunlight for 15 minutes or more as quickly upon wake up, the best tool for adjusting circadian rhythm.
- Exercise leads to faster sleep time and mire REM sleep, so long as it's not 2-3 hours before bed. Preferably done in the morning to help adjust circadian rhythm.
- Avoid caffeine past 12pm.
- Memorise something, I can't explain the science like a neuroscientist would, but basically sleep is the time memory consolidation happens, memorising signals to the brain that sleep is needed.
- chamomile tea for relaxation.
- Bed should be strictly for sleep.
- No pets in bed while you sleep.
- Dawn light helps adjust circadian rhythm too, so go for a walk.
- No devices/blue light before bed but preferably not lights at all.
- No heavy meals 2-3 hours before bed but if you do eat, eat complex carbohydrates.
- Cool quiet dark room.
- Wear socks and gloves, so as to dilate blood vessels there.
- For racing minds, journal you day from beginning to end to offload, you want to have processed all your emotions, I personally let my mind wander for however it wants before it gets tired and I get sleepy.
- Get off bed ~15 minutes if you didn't fall asleep, I'm not sure about this advice, I have sleep anxiety and I know I'll be counting the minutes, but hopefully you'd have already fallen asleep.

So me 25F and my boyfriend 26M have been dating for around 3 months now. I smoke weed from time to time, only like 1-2 times per month, maybe a bit more if I feel like I need to relax. My boyfriend hates weed and has had an addiction problem with weed and so he doesn't like it, which I can respect.
Issue is that he doesn't want me to smoke at all, I've explained to him that we have 2 different types of relationship to weed but he disregards that and simply says I'm stupid for doing it and that he feels like I don't respect his past experience and advice.
Yesterday I smoked some weed to relax and today he has been saying I'm being an asshole for smoking, especially when he's around. AITAH?

Hi everyone, first time posting on this subreddit but I’ve never been more shaken in my life, this happened maybe 10 minutes ago, to explain it all I woke up early that day around 7:30 and had a very normal day, I’m 18 so I still live with my parents and my friend lets call them K (f18) and at the time I was having some anxiety before sleep,there’s some background info, now onto the nightmare.
It started with both me and my friend K in my room, my dog gunner under the bed as usual, I was trying to put a new tag on his collar but he wouldn’t budge, big dog, it’s normal, but either way it didn’t work and we had gone to K’s room, she was wanting to light her new candle or something I’m not entirely sure as to why but I got up and left her room to get my lighter, the way my room is set up, theres a slight hallway when you enter my room, maybe 2 people long, with a dresser on the side making the “hallway” longer, I had taken the lighter off that dresser while still standing in the “hallway” of my room, I flicked it on once to make sure it worked, there was no light on at the time other then one fish tank light I keep on black light, I flicked the lighter, and in front of me, stood a little blonde girl with a monotone face, expect she was tall, tall enough to where I thought, “this is not a human” and this entire time it’s like a lucid dream, where I was the one in control- somewhat, anyways I see this girl and immediately run to K’s room and as I did I could hear my mother calling my name, but for some reason my brain knew that wasn’t actually her calling me, I make it to K’s room sobbing and screaming as I grab her hand and immediately start praying with the lighter flicked on again, moments later the door creaked open and I could see the face of what I can only describe as a burn victim, you could see teeth through their skin and only one eye remained intact, no lips, no other distinguishing features as they had all been burned off, but just one eye was intact, I started praying more as K screamed at it, then it launched at us, no weapon in hand, it wanted to kill me. I had grabbed its face and tried to push it away while screaming, then I forced myself to wake up, I was afraid of being in my own room so I called my mother, I’m not particularly religious but I was raised Christian so my mother came and prayed over me, I took a Xanax and went into K’s room where I’m now typing all this out, I’ve never had a more realistic dream, none the less nightmare, and I really just want to know what this could possibly mean or just to get this off my chest, I’m still shaking as I type so please excuse errors, thank you!
