Hello, Im thinking of changing jobs soon. I’m currently on HSP visa type 1. I applied for PR last year in June and am still waiting for the result. I went to the regional immigration office in Chiba the other day to ask about changing jobs on my visa. I was told it’s fine to change jobs but I will need to update the company name on my passport and only need to update the visa. The counselor also told me I do not need to inform the department handling PR applications about the job change. Now this obviously conflicts the information I’ve found online and on Reddit. I read that I need to have HSP visa type 2 if I want to change jobs. I’ve also read that it is frowned upon to change jobs while PR is still being processed. So what should I do? I have a few interviews lined up and if I need to update my visa I will have to do it soon. Also, has anyone changed jobs while their PR was pending and still got the PR?
