I was hoping for some help identifying this revolver. All the history I have on it is my grandfather was a prohibition agent back in the 1920's and this was taken off one of the people that was arrested. He kept it as a souvenir. I was gifted it from my father a while back.

I just got a job offer at a large statewide non profit health insurance company and I’m conflicted as to if I should accept the position or not. I got my master’s in Public Health this past May and I have a heavy passion for health equity and resolving health disparities. For my required internship in my program, I had worked for this insurance company but in the foundation side of it doing philanthropic work. From this perspective, the company does a lot of good work financially supporting community organizations addressing different health disparities in addition to there being a different department that actually implementing health equity programs.
Now I have this offer for a position where I’ll be in a rotational analyst training program doing work in the operations division of the organization. From my understanding, I’ll be aiding in simplifying the company’s insurance process for customers and “impacting the overall member experience”. I’d feel way better in my role if I was actually supporting members and helping them than the actual company.
The opportunity itself seems incredibly beneficial because I believe it would help me gain more quantitative skills that I feel are constantly looked for in public health but I struggle with the morality and ethics of working for a health insurance company when I honestly would rather the country support a universal healthcare system. One of my family members said it’s better that I, with perspective of wanting health equity, fill the role than someone who doesn’t care and that the position will be filled irregardless.
I’ve been applying for jobs left and right and this is my first offer since May. The pay and benefits are pretty good but I don’t want to be a sell out. Ideally, I’d only stay for the 12 months of the program and leave to go to doing more community or research focused work. I come from a very humble background and have been impacted by said many of the health care disparities commonly set by our health care systems so I’m really at a loss. I have a few of days to make a decision so I was looking from any advice since my search on the rest of the internet hasn’t been very helpful.

Evie is the one thing I hate thinking about. I can't stand the thought of her. Fucking sitting in her cage. Wondering where I went. Wondering when I’m getting back. Wondering why I never did. Standing at the door waiting for my car to pull up and my boots to come up the porch. To hear me say “hey sweetie I’m back, it's just me, darlin’!”. Her little paws aching to be held by my arms. waiting for me to just shake her harness so she knows it's time to get up and go out to pee. Wondering why I haven't given her a piece of my morning waffle or pancake in so long. Why hasn't my toaster been picked up? Why did they stop buying my waffles? I need those. She’ll always wonder where I went. Eventually she’d get a new owner. She’d forget me. Get over me. But she’ll always get excited when she smells waffles. Or hears boots coming up the hall. When she sees her green monopoly bag toy she’ll wag her tail extra hard. She’ll run under people's feet to be pet and think about where, why, and how she learned to do that. there’ll be a voice in the back of her mind going “Hey, worst case scenario you get a new owner, okay? I love you.”. And she won't remember whose voice it is but it’ll make her sad. One day she’ll see someone wearing an old ugly dark gray jacket with black accents and she’ll get excited but they wouldn't smell like me and she’ll forget why she got happy seeing that. Every night or anytime the new owner sits at the edge of their bed with their legs spread she’ll instinctively run over and start hopping asking to be picked up. They might not get it, but they might pick her and she’ll cuddle with them and start squirming like she does if they don't pet her or stop for even a second. She’ll get the zoomies and hop on their pillow. Maybe one day it’d snow and the new owner wouldn't know she gets the zoomies when it's cold and especially in the snow. She’ll dart off and they'll have to chase her. And she’ll look back expecting my silhouette behind her. When it isn't, she'll freak out. She’ll get scared and not know what to do. She’ll start crying and look for me which will make it worse. Eventually, after only a couple steps, she’ll just freeze low to the ground like she does when I’m gonna grab her. The new owner will pick her up, then. They won't smell like me and she’ll remember everything. She’ll cry and stop eating again like when I first disappeared on her. And she'll go back to looking for me in the usual spots. Bathroom? No. In front of the computer? No. Laying in bed? No. I must be in the kitchen, obviously. No? Surely in one of these rooms, he rarely leaves the house she must have not checked hard enough. Wait someone's at the door! It's gotta be…. No, that isn't his smell. But he dog sits for people sometimes, maybe that's ehat it is, yes! Of course! That isn't his boots. That's not any of his pants, nor his shirts or jacket. That isn't his face nor hair. His eyes weren't that alive. His eyes were always sad and dead looking for some reason. Besides when he looked at her. No this is someone else. But maybe the next knock at the door? But it won't ever be me if I do this. So I can't.

While I still enjoy the show and never miss it, I can't help but prefer the days when this was all that was said before reading the votes. No "if you have a hidden immunity idol or advantage, now would be the time to play it" or anything else.
I'm re-watching Pearl Islands - and yeah, I know it was 40 seasons ago - but I just loved how this show used to feel. Unique challenges, interesting themes, locale-based challenges and challenges requiring players to knock other players out etc. This isn't old man yelling at clouds...like I said, I still watch and enjoy the show. I just wish we could get back some of the feel of those early seasons.

So, I'd like to start by saying I'm well aware of how this will sound. This may not be the group to post this, but I'm all out of ideasand almost hope at this point. This is something that has been happening to me for years now. I don't know how long exactly, but 3 for sure. 2 years were spent of me telling people (my family) what was happening, and being told that I'm crazy. I almost got to the point where I believed them. I'm not sure if anyone has heard of "The Family" here in America, but they are the secret religious group of government workers that stem across all branches of government (and other areas); the ones that actually make decisions, they are very real. My family is part of that. 3 years ago I got clean after "struggling with an addiction" to dope for years. I didn't do it with aa or religion or almost anything that people typically say is needed. I took heroic doses of mushrooms for 5 days and just sat there thinking about what a POS I had been. I've never gone back to it. After getting clean I began having health problems that would seemingly pop up out of no where for no reason. I mean, real, "my insides are suddenly not working the way there suppose to & nothing I've ingested should be doing this". Extreme Weight loss, fatigue, muscle soreness, trouble urinating as well as pooping, heavy mental confusion, and I would stink like a homeless person, even though I was showering daily and using deodorant. Note: I began exercising and eating very clean, so my health consistently getting worse wasn't adding up. After seeing various doctors and visits to urgent cares, having them run tests, and saying nothing was wrong. I benagn to take a very hard look at what I was ingesting, where it came from,even down to the time/ location of where it was bought. Something clearly was not right. I had been (and still try to) smoke weed. My family (who sees that as a sin) all hoped on that. When they couldn't convince me what was happening to me was a side affect of weed (none of them smoke,I'm not sure they ever even have) they tried to convince me I had gone into psychosis and all of it was in my head. They almost had me, hell at times they might've. So I've began doing some experimenting. For the past 2 months now I have been exclusively in recreationally legal states. Consistently, I go into a dispensary & get handed a product (flower, edibles or cartridges) that by all accounts looks and even at times smells like some pressure. And CONSISTENTLY, it does not make me feel stoned in the slightest. It makes my limbs ache, it makes sleeping and using the bathroom very uncomfortable, kills my appetite, gives me the worst bo Etc. Now I know, once in a blue moon buying a bunk product can happen. But I mean consistently, it doesn't matter what state I'm in. I have had this happen in CT, NY, NH, Maine and now Maryland. They are legit dispensarys. I've even sent some random person off the streets into the same dispensary for the exact same thing, and they bring out a product that honestly looks as far as I can tell the exact same, but is real smoke while I'm left with a product that will make me sick and is more likely then not killing me at this point. Constantly. Every dispensary in whatever state I'm in.
I don't know what kind of chemical could be doing this.
So there ya have it. 27 year old American male. Currently in Maryland. Being systematically hunted and poisoned by The Family/Octopus group. Which is ironically my own blood family.
