2025.01.18 05:51 Hevzim Jungle IS the weakest role in the game right now
Yeah the title it's clickbait HOWEVER I wanted to ask if you guys feel the same as me.
I've been playing ranked for the past few days, and I've got no idea where to go from now on.
As a jungler main, I've peaked grandmaster a few times already and I got to reach diamond with a secondary account in less than 40 games last season.
But right now it feels like jungle has no impact on the game whatsoever. Laners don't get punished hard enough for dying (not even dying twice in a row) like they used to, junglers don't get punished hard enough for getting invaded or getting camps stolen, and it feels like the game has shifted into whoever gets more early objectives wins.
You can't affect lanes like you used to, a kill feels worthless and, if your laners are unresponsive, it's gg.
It feels like supports have more impact through the game and lanes than a jungler, they get to rotate and go wherever they want without having to worry about xp or gold. Towers are definitely easier to take down and laners get to have an excessive amount of lane pressure through the whole game, making scaling champions weaker.
And all of this that im telling you has happened to me in PLATINUM Elo. I used to look at platinum like the easiest games to snowball and win, and now i'm stuck here like if god nerfed my brain or something.
15 wins and 37 loses as a jungler I feel like a complete failure. I don't know if i'm washed or if it's the season or if i'm just having a rough patch with losers queue and all of that, but I just CAN'T carry games like I used to. I used to pick Graves win games without much effort, now im depending on my laners to carry me and to NOT throw their leads out of the window (thing that happens more often than not)
I don't have map control and I can't affect map pressure like I used to. Snowballing it's completely impossible for me, and the games that i've won, it has been like either my midlaner got 20 kills or my toplaner is playing an unkillable tank, all the games that i've won, I felt completely sidelined and useless
I would love to hear y'all thoughts on this, if you're feeling the same as me or if i'm just delusional.

I have been actively involved in B school admissions as a coach and mentor over the past 6 years and see the same thing happen everytime, whether it's on Quora, LinkedIn or other platforms. GEM people not getting a call with a high CAT score ( 99.6 ++ ) and good acads (9/9/8 ) rant about IIMs, reservation, gender and anything else under the sun.
Now, I understand that anyone who has had a huge disappointment is likely to be rather frustrated but, as these are all smart people, I would have expected them to find out things on their own, before signing up for CAT. Let me therefore outline why the rejections happen and , if nothing else, it will definitely help people aspiring for CAT 2025.
IIM Bangalore first then. The criteria has 5 extra marks for gender diversity, so women are better off than men. The criteria is also having normalised academic scores and unfortunately most people do not understand this. Apart from this work experience has 10 points, so freshers do not have much chance unless with stellar acads + 99.7 plus in CAT.
IIM A and IIM S look at different academic categories even among general students. So a BA graduate is not directly competing with an Engineer here. There is no point in saying a GEM got no call at 99.5 whereas a male or a female studying History got one at 95 etc. The race is a different one, cannot be compared.
IIM C is probably the fairest of them all with about 4 marks for gender diversity. If any general category male has 99.75 plus in CAT he will be getting a call mostly. Acads are simple, you just need 80% plus in your boards.
IIM L is harsh towards GEM freshers as they only have access to 80 marks out of 100 for the first stage shortlist. Also the weird way in which L evaluates the 12th performance, means you can get very little with even a score of 90 % in your boards. Even GEM with experience are fighting out of 90 marks.
IIM K has a similar situation again, 90 marks is what you have to compete on. IIM I has 59% weight for board marks, again these are done with normalisation.
I hope you have got some idea now as to why many GEM people do not get calls. Let me now look at normalisation. This is done by IIM B, IIM L , IIM Kand IIM I. I will not go into the theory of it just try to explain in layman like language for the benefit of readers.
- Applicants from each board are grouped separately and the Mean and Standard deviation of their marks are worked out.
- Let us say the mean of CBSE applicants is 82 marks and the standard deviation is 5 marks. An applicant X has got 92 marks
- As the applicant is more than mean by 2 standard deviation, X will be getting 12.5 marks out of 15. If he was exactly at mean he would have got 7.5 out of 15.
- This ensures that for boards such as Bihar, where people score lower marks, it is still possible to get a fairly high score in the IIM B situation.
- This also explains why people get a lower score out of 15 in boards such as Telangana where almost everyone scores above 90 %, so the mean itself is rather high.
Bottom line - you need to understand your profile in a much better manner and be aware of what is the level of marks you need for CAT. My advice for any GEM fresher will be to aim at a scaled score between 100 and 110 for the BLACKIS calls, GEM people with experience may need about 5-10 marks less. This may change in CAT 2025 is less scoring than CAT 2024, but you really cannot take a chance.

I recently got a thermometer to try and see if I was storing humira correctly, and I've noticed the fridge temperature varies wildly sometimes going from 30-50 degrees altogether. which is not within the 36-46 range recommended by abbvie. My fridge is set to 6 degrees celcius as well but I'm not sure if this is just my fridge not working properly or not. Does anyone else have any recommendations for a mini fridge or something that isn't so susceptible to these issues?

I read this awesome series years ago but I only remember vague details.
It was an apocalyptic scenario, with a samurai type man escorting a baby or young child across a frozen wasteland. There was a pink alien sort of virus that infected people and turned them into toothy body horrors. I believe her blood was toxic to the monsters or something like that.
One of the antagonists turned secondary protagonists was this big butcher dude with meat cleavers who was a cannibal, he had a heroic last stand which was rad. On a bridge that he blew up.
The primary antagonist towards the end was a blonde cult leader type dude I think?
I apologize for being vague but I remember only so much of this series. I read it during a time in my life where I drank heavily so hopefully this makes some sense with my scattered memories!

I'm so happy that Maybe Happy Ending is successful on Broadway. I'm just wondering what everyone here thinks about other Asian musicals. There are probably a lot of people who won't be interested unless something else gets an English translation, and I understand that. A lot of people might also be interested, but not know where to look for more information, so I want to help. And if you know a lot already, please recommend things, too!
I'm interested in making information available in English, and helping people find shows they might be interested in. There are also a lot of proshots from Korea, Japan, and elsewhere, but not a lot of translations. Hopefully that will change soon, but it won't change unless fans want it to.

2025.01.18 05:51 Glittering-Work-6689 I'm a project manager moving to another team end of January. I've been working with the Product Owner (not product manager) for over 1+ years. I requested a 1:1, and this is the response I got.
Context: It's quite toxic French management which makes you doubt your decisions each and every day.
(The intention of the meeting is to expect a 1:1 meeting when transitioning teams, especially after a long working relationship)
The meeting intends I requested the same 1:1 in December, and he said he would send a meeting invite, but he never did. Then again, I requested yesterday, and instead of a 1:1, he asked me to schedule a meeting with the full team by March, which I won't be there for. And then I ended up responding to him that there was no need for a 1:1.
I felt I overreacted because I got mad that he dismissed my request for 1:1 like that plus he is higher up in the program management and I worry about any repercussions. Having high anxiety does not help either.
Did I overreact by saying I don't need a 1:1 with him?

2025.01.18 05:51 Server16Ark Stunned by how awful the new player experience still is.
A friend of mine decided to buy Darktide while it was on sale a while back and only recently have we begun to play the game. This entire interaction between him, me, the game, and other people who we have played with in PUGS that the game sticks us with has been really eye opening concerning just how bad the new player experience really is.
For starters, my friend has some experience with Fatshark games having played a good amount of VT2 a long time ago. Precisely how many hours, I don't know, but if I had to guess it was at least 100, I do however want to reinforce the point at the end of the sentence: it was a long time ago. As in at least five years. Whatever skills he has from VT2, game knowledge, etc. did not transfer over to this game but we had flickering moments of remembrance where he could see how a system from VT2 had been ported over to Darktide as I explained various things to him while we played.
To go further with this, I highly advised that he play a Zealot as his first class due to the fact that even at a low level, the Zealot has a significant amount of forgiveness and just flat out "Oops, I made a mistake but it'll be fine" capability that the other classes do not have. If you really wanted to, a Zealot can get the Holy Rev/Until Death combo before they even hit level 10. That's how forgiving Zealot is as someone's first class (plus, it provides a significant overlap with Veteran, so there's transferable skills there).
Anyway. Where am I going with this? It occurred to me while playing with him that Fatshark has done an abysmal job explaining just about anything to new players to the game. I genuinely feel extremely bad for people who jump in fresh, don't have someone to lean on for info like myself (for reference: he wasn't even aware that weapons had Special Actions until he hit 25 and that was because I asked him why he wasn't turning his Relic Blade on).
He had no genuine clue where most things were, what services they offered, how things worked, nothing. Now, you can fire back that Fatshark does put in an initial very brief summary about how certain game systems operate (particularly those related to the crafting revamp) but they only do that one time. If you just clicked through it, or only play the game on, say, the weekends, there is very little chance you are going to remember any of that info. Which is precisely what happened to my friend.
I had to explain how Hadron worked, how to empower weapons, why you want to rank them up and how, how to swap out blessings and perks, the proper way to buy weapons, how to acquire trinkets and how that's different from buying weapons. On and on and on. None of this I hold against my friend, he's a pretty clever guy who is good at video games but these interactions were a real revelation to me concerning just how awful the new player experience really is. I can't imagine a person who plays by themselves, who doesn't have someone like myself to ensure we won Damnation games (not because of my player skill, but rather because of my game knowledge) to try and quickly get him to 30 as painlessly as possible so he can get access to the right weapons, and the store might start resetting the stock with the right trinkets. I just... feel bad. The slog for a new player who has to play with other players who are just as out of their depth at lower difficulties, without someone there who can just waltz through the mission with minimum difficulty sounds like an absolute nightmare. I, thankfully, did this back before we even had Skill Trees, so I can't even remember what the grind was like but if the grind is easier these days than it was back then? Good Lord. And I haven't even touched on the skill trees themselves being a prosaic maze of nonsense that most people couldn't possibly sort through without outside help.
I could go on and on and on, about the little things that add up into really big things and it becomes extremely apparent very quickly why it is that more people don't play Darktide long term.
Without continuing to beat a dead horse, I think that Fatshark really, really screwed the pooch here and I'd be willing to ascribe their failings with making this information easily accessible, thoroughly detailed and explained in the game as to why people just give up eventually. It's terrible, because I know if I had to wade through all this technical debt but also had no interest whatsoever in watching some random YouTuber's 12 part video series on how to find out how to do most things in this game, I'd probably just have thrown in the towel.
I know this doesn't seem like it should be a high priority, but I really feel like it needs to be. Darktide already doesn't have a particularly large playerbase (VT2 isn't much smaller and it's much older), and smothering new players under all this tedium and inexplicable crap really has to go. Serious adjustments, a full revamp even, needs to be made to help better onboard players.
**tl;dr - New players are being drowned by the game's mish mash of poorly explained systems, a grind they can't possibly even begin to understand, and a skill tree that is poorly explained at the best of times and downright incorrect at the worst.
