I'm happy, I don't have to deal with the forced online authorization nonsense.
I don't have to deal or see Denuvo defenders doing their things.
I bought the game fyi.
If anyone want to know what exactly is Denuvo and what it does:
Denuvo implemented games rely on 3rd party DRM server to generate authorization tokens in order for the games to be launchable(forced online authorization).
These tokens are expirable and can be break under circumstances(reinstalling/update OS/driver,switching Proton(Linux), changing hardware) render the games useless.
The tokens won't be automatically acquired by themselves, you need to launch the games in online mode for them to be acquired.
The tokens can only be acquired for a limited number of times(usually 5)per 24 hours, once you reach the limit for whatever reason, you will be blocked out of your games, and will need to wait until the next day to be able to "activate" the game again.
You need to ask for permission to play the game you paid for.
You can play Denuvo implemented games in offline mode, but it won't be indefinitely.
In fact you can't play the games at all if there's no token or for some reason it's cannot a token(server outage) regardless of whether you're online or offline.
Denuvo can also randomly crap out and prevent you from playing.
In short, Denuvo hamper and prevent offline play, erode customers's ability to play the games they paid for without any restrictions, to have reliable, unrestricted access to their games, free from factors that are outside of their control.

My mom just died a few weeks ago. She was my best friend, main pillar of support and very involved Nana to my 1.5yo son.
I guess I'm looking for any books that can help me through this and leave me with some sense of comfort or hope. I'm not religious and would prefer to stay away from anything rooted in that or with any kind of toxic "everything happens for a reason" vibe. I am okay with anything that depicts a non-secular afterlife, as long as it's not super heavy on the Christianity aspect of things.
Memoirs, fiction, non-fiction are all on the table. Really anything you've read that you found extremely comforting while in the stages of grief.

i’m home for winter break, have been since december 13th snd will be until jan 31st. i feel like im losing my mind. im so bored. my three roommates are back at school, doing winter classes and they all live in state while im out of state.
i’ve finished multiple books and played video games and i have no idea what else to do these last two weeks or so. i want to work but my manager is being flimsy and wont respond or give me hours, and i have no money. i cant think of anything to do that doesnt cost money. i feel like im going stir crazy because the only thing i can do is stay at home and do the same 10 things ive been doing or go do something that’ll cost me money. like im at a loss.
and im not mad or upset with my roommates at all i just wish i was there with them. i guess technically i could go back but i dont know. it’s getting closer to the next semester starting but i just. i feel like im genuinely going to go insane. especially since all the rest of my friends are already back at their schools. please give me suggestions 😔😔

My spouse and I are looking to buy or build a home in the next 1-2 years. We have one child; my spouse is Japanese and I'm planning to apply for PR soon.
My mother-in-law approached us with an offer, to buy or build a significantly larger home of which she would pay for 50%, and she would live with us during her retirement. Currently she is imagining buying land out of pocket; we would then take out a construction loan and build a home on said land. This land would become my spouse's inheritance.
My mother-in-law is a saint, I've known her for over a decade and it is impossible she is trying to take advantage of us somehow. Including her in our household is not something I have any issue with. However, while she is well-off she is not financially savvy, which makes me think there might be a better way to arrange this, instead of the 50-50 land-construction deal she is imagining.
Financially-speaking, are there any effective ways to set up this kind of multi-party real estate deal? I'd be curious to hear anyone's thoughts. Thank you!
