My Fishbones prop from arcane (This was very rushed and I didn’t have time to do the eyes) I never counted how many hours this took, but over 30. I bought a pattern from The Insanity Project, but altered and re patterned about half of it (head, teeth, jaw, ribs, and more) This is my first eva foam prop i’ve ever made and there’s a lot of mistakes, but i’m pretty proud of it😁

Just finished putting together my new baby!

So I am absolutely loving my new rig.. Still need to finish setting it up and figure out what's the best to sync all the lightning cause my MB light is still blue and the Game Rock had to be set separately but at least the fan controllers in the Light Base 600 did a good job of syncing all the rest together for me.
Still running tests before getting into undervolting the CPU and GPU but that's for tomorrow I think as it now 7am and I need some sleep LOL

Been seeing this girl who’s in Scotland She’s from Iraq & is an amazing girl After meeting me, she started wearing hijab etc as I never forced, but influenced her to why it is good.
Within a week I told her about marriage but I waited due to university & wanting to be halal
I graduated, and started working & I’ve saved up 32,000$. I said to myself it’s time for me to travel ( North America ) to Scotland & get her hand
After talking last night ever since we’ve met, I discussed mehr with her I’ve spoken to her mother as the father isn’t in the picture
She told me she wants her mehr to be 50,000$ I said okay, but I can’t sleep
I never said okay as an agreement I just said it because as a Muslim man I legit CANT make a problem out of it as it’s her god given right to ask whatever dowry she pleases
It isn’t that I can’t afford this, I just feel like it’s idiotic. I’m 22, she’s 19, I already have to travel, spend on hotel, gifts to make a good impression, and the mehr is 50,000? I’ve calculated travel expenses & everything with the mehr and it’s come out to a whopping 66,000$ I’d be spending.
My parents raised me well, so I can’t cheap on the gifts
I know people will comment you already know what to do, but sometimes I make mistakes that could’ve been avoided yet I’ve walked away
I remember hearing from somali women all the time “ if a man wants to marry you what’s making him not come for your hand asap?” Low-key should think of this the same way vice versa ? If a woman truly loves you, why would she make u marrying her that hard?
I think to myself maybe she doesn’t understand how things work, but that sounds like an excuse to make bcuz she isn’t a 5 year old. Everybody knows todays economy, everybody knows how things are, if you were me what would you do?

2025.01.18 06:01 Sad-Fern Normal tests and results that don’t make sense to me.

I was having what felt like heart palpitations. It only happens when I’m at rest, not when I’m exercising. It felt like my heart would skip a beat and then beat really hard. The EKG and Echo were normal but the heart monitor observed what my doctor called ventricular tachycardia. Which to my understanding is a fast heart beat every so often but this doesn’t line up with what I’m feeling in my chest. They had me to a stress test on a treadmill about a week ago and I will talk to my doctor about the results on Wednesday but just wanted to see if anyone could clear up the feeling not matching the results. I just don’t understand how it’s fast heart rate but it feels like my heart is skipping and then beating really hard. Also the cardiology nurse that did the test told me “well I’ll tell you that you’re out of shape” and I already knew this. I’m not blind to my own health but I just thought that was a little out of left field for him to say since they normally don’t talk about the tests.

Valentine's Day used to be one of my favorite holidays. I have so many sweet memories stemming from childhood into my serious relationships as an adult. I never had a bad one until right before DDay hit nearly almost 3 years ago now. The only thing is, I didn't realize how bad it was until months later.
That previous night to VDay, I set up some my gifts up for my WP in my kitchen to wake up to since he gets up for work 3hrs before I do. That morning, he went out there & came back into the bedroom to wake me up & tell me I didn't have to do that. He then chucks this small black bag at me to open as a gift. Its a silver heart necklace with an opal on the inside. He tells me he ordered it a couple of months ago & spent a lot on it. I think it's really pretty & wear it until DDay hits. When he comes home late that night (on VDay) we make fried Oreos together (his favorite) & enjoy our night. I thought whatever, it was a good one - not the best but nice regardless.
Months after DDay & looking back, that necklace wasn't meant for me. It was meant for his AP. Opal is APs birthstone. He mentioned he "bought it a couple of months ago" & I realized he had stopped talking to her in Dec on his own accord... that's why he even had it. It was her gift. Not mine. He gave it to me as a pity gift or he was just not concerned about the intention around it. It was a lazy & lousy way to show me he really didn't care about me back then.
I think the thing that hurts the most is I can't enjoy any piece of opal jewelry because it reminds me of her. I love gems & minerals & opal was high on my list of favorites. Since then, not anymore. I hate it's tainted my enjoyment of it. Its beauty is a huge trigger & that's all I've seen around me in my profession lately. Of course, right before the holiday.
My WP & I recently started R again & he overall seems in a very healthy place. While, I feel trapped in memories like these that I keep to myself & cry over. We aren't ready to discuss this level yet - I'll just cry throughout the session which isn't fair to me at this point. I want to use my words to express the level / depth of how painful it's been for me. He's seen me cry, but he hasn't really heard my heart pouring out on smaller stories like this that affected me deeply. I'm not looking on advice for telling this story, because I'm not even there yet mentally/physically/spiritually to share it with him. I think a part of me is holding onto the pain of it all & I'm almost in a place of - why even bothering sharing it. It's a resentment I don't want to solve right now. I want him to tell me what he did wrong. Not the other way around. It seems so unfair he can't just admit his own short comings rather than have me explain to him why "x,y,&z" still hurts me.
It just sucks that so many things are tainted or ruined by this chaos he created & I'm still sad about it all.

I've seen a lot of items in the trade site that magic jewels with 2 modifiers that are corrupted with no additional effect are going for like 8 divines compared to a rare jewel with 4 modifiers and corrupted with something like 9% fire resistance are only going for 1 divine or something. also the modifiers on said gems are fairly similar in that they're both useful. I even saw a clip where somebody found a magic gem and hit it with a corrupt and specifically stated he didn't want anything to change on it and it would go for 8 divines, then he looked on the market and just as he said they were going for 8 divines. Is there something i'm missing that some POE vets can explain why that is?
