Good evening all.
I'm using a throwaway, because my main account is too public and for my own reasons I'd like to not have this on there. I apologize for that, and I hope it doesn't break any rules of this sub. If it does please remove, and pardon my dust.
Anyway, on to the reason I'm making this post.
A while ago, maybe 15 years ago at this point, my late grandfather had in his possession a 1945'ish Lee Enfield Longbranch No. 4 Mk I*. He verbally willed it to me before he passed rather suddenly to cancer. After his passing, my grandmother, who does not like guns of any type, asked my family to take it from her, and get it out of the house. My dad held on to it as I was under 18 at that time, and it was forgotten about until about a week ago while my parents were cleaning out some stuff.
Long story short is, I am now the owner of this rifle, but I have no idea how something like this would work to register this firearm here in CA. Since there is no paperwork on it, nothing about how my grandfather even came into possessing this rifle, and there was also, unfortunately nothing officially written about him evening willing it to me. I'm a Federal LEO, so I do carry, but it's my service issue Glock 19, and it does not have to be registered. I've never purchased or registered a firearm before, so the rules and regs are foreign to me. I've been and will continue to be doing my own research on this subject along side this post, too. I'm not one of those people. I assure you. I also will be contacting my local PD to get information as well, as soon as I have enough info to work with.
Please bestow upon me your wisdom and knowledge! What's my best course of action for this situation? What would you do if you were me?
(No, moving from CA isn't an option for me right now, gotta work with the cards I'm dealt here lol.)

This story is going to be short and bitter. Today management made me take a 1:1 assignment for a new resident who keeps eloping AND work a section, because the 1:1 person called in sick. I questioned how I was to provide constant 1:1 care AND take care of the other residents and was met with brick walls and basically told to figure it out. Even though that is absolutely an impossible expectation. Anyone else relate to this? Iām so tired. I want to go scoop ice cream for money instead. Except my wrists have carpal tunnel like most of us. So thatās a bummer.

I have a cat and she is 3 and the biggest joy in my life. I love her so much and tbh I probably owe her my life. Iāve struggled with depression and anxiety and she makes my have a reason to keep going no matter what. Making her happy makes me happy and I want to get her a minky blanket. I have one I got from my parents and she loves it and kneads on it and cuddles with me. I want to get her one to put on one of her beds and this may be a silly question but I was wondering if cats like certain colors better than others? I think sheāll lay on any colors if itās soft which is why I donāt know, but if there is a chance sheād like one more Iād like to get her that. I know she loves the feel of them and if certain colors/shades are extra comforting thatās what Iād choose. I read cats like blue or maybe green or purple? Iām not sure exactly and I wasnāt sure which shade. Does anyone have any insight on this? I know it may just be guesswork or it may sound dumb to even be thinking of that. But my sweet cat is an angel and I want to make her as happy as I can.

In the novel it's acceptable to think that they were random survivors, they are random people. However in the video game it's not.
At least three characters: Ellen, Benny and Nimdock have a direct relationship with Am that Am knows it: Ellen worked at the company that created Am, Benny was in the army that used Am, and Nimdock created the formula that Am uses to keep humans alive... none of them seem to be random. (or at least Ellen and Nimdock must have been selected, because what's the probability that they would survive by chance?).
In this interpretation it is strange that the other survivors are random, but who knows how the decision was made to leave only them alive.

Iām 18F and dated a really toxic and abusive/manipulative guy my junior year of high school. It ended really badly, like REALLY bad. Iām talking property damage to my car, rumors, etc, but we were on and off for a few months until about July, and he got a new girlfriend in September of our senior year. I had zero contact with him since summer of 2023, and intended to keep it that way. He is still dating the girl after me, and they seem to be in it for the long haul.
About two months ago, I got a random notification that he (my ex) added me on Snapchat. I added him back under the VERY cautious curiosity that he had some sort of beef with me and didnāt want it on iMessage, something he would do all the time after we broke up. We were friends on snap for about 20 minutes until he unadded me ā no contact. I texted him asking why he added me and he said it was an accident and he was scrolling through his quick adds and accidentally added me by mistake. I just said okay and we dropped it, no contact since.
However, earlier today I was taking a nap and woke up to a notification that he added me on Snapchat again. I just screenshotted the notification and fell back asleep, and when I woke up the request was gone. I ignored it, but it was really bugging me because I was putting myself in his girlfriendās shoes, and felt really guilty for not saying anything the first time. My cousin convinced me to text his girlfriend, and so I did. I sent her the screenshots from the first instance and then the second one from earlier. She was super sweet about it, and seemed to have appreciated the gesture, until my ex texted me a mean message and then unsent it (I got a screenshot before it unsent). He said I was āweirdā for taking and sending the screen shots and that I was just ālooking to cause problemsā even though I reassured his girlfriend that I had zero ill intentions, am completely over him, but personally would have wanted to know about the situation if the roles were reversed.
From my perspective, I think accidentally adding me on Snapchat twice within two months, not blocking me after the first instance, scrolling in quick add with a girlfriend, and keeping me added for 20 minutes the first time are RED FLAGS!!!! That is why I texted her. All of my friends think I did the right thing, and I came with the PUREST intentions, but she seemed mad at me towards the end of our conversation even though she was sweet in the beginning and now Iām worried I did something wrong.
So, AITA??
