Hello everyone.
I think it’s best for me to introduce myself. I’m u/Armascout. I was good friends with u/wil85 (the founder of this sub) from the time we were in elementary school to when we were in high school.
Unfortunately back in November Will passed away. I’m not going to go into detail for privacy reasons but needless to say it was a tragedy no one could see coming.
Since that happened I have been trying to get Mod Status on here to keep it going. I remember back in middle school him showing me this sub and we would often post our work to it.
I owe so much to Will as without him I never would have become interested in filmmaking and video production. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him and I’m hoping that by keeping this sub going I’m contributing to keeping his legacy alive.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for advice on managing my reactions and handling situations where I feel like I’m being misunderstood or judged.
Here’s some context: I’m part of a friend group that includes my ex (I know, not ideal), and she’s pointed out that I take things too seriously and get upset too quickly over small things. For example, when we play games like Uno or Catan, if she makes a move that’s not in my favor, I sometimes act annoyed or spend the rest of the match trying to get back at her. I don’t even do it intentionally half the time, but apparently, it’s noticeable enough that it’s become something people associate with me.
On top of that, there are moments when she or others in the group make statements that don’t make much sense or crack bad jokes that not everyone would enjoy. If I don’t laugh or call it out as being silly or annoying, she’ll say things like, “You can’t joke with him,” or, “He doesn’t know how to take a joke.” It frustrates me because I feel like there’s a difference between taking a harmless joke and tolerating something dumb or inappropriate.
I know I probably shouldn’t let this stuff get under my skin, especially since she’s my ex, but I genuinely want to stop these patterns of reacting and avoid being seen as someone who takes everything personally. How can I manage my emotions better in the moment, let go of these habits, and find a balance between being easygoing and standing up for myself?
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

ik this seems less relevant to grades and things going on rn but idk where else it can be said… last year the associate principal sat the entire cohort down telling us about the leadership camp happening this year in late jan which is like $95 for one night at a holiday park and how we HAVE to attend as year 13s, and that word for word, “attendance is compulsory” in a rude tone unless we had any other reason to not go such as sickness. even then, this had to be proven with a medical certificate. he said that, word for word, “if anybody chooses to not attend camp we will take that as you will not be here next year and you will be unenrolled.”
the entire cohort bursts into chatter after he finished talking as everyone looks at each other with puzzled expressions silently after being told that, because, they have 0 power to do that right? surely it’s got to be against the law that just because we don’t want to go to camp, we’d be unenrolled from school as a whole…
a huge speculation roared out as a result of this which caused the same dean who told us this, basically “nuh uh, attendance isn’t mandatory” in an email indirectly disproving what he said
so at face value now, is this much of a problem we students should be concerned about? personally i feel unprotected and unstable and more importantly untrusting of the school at how it’ll impact my experience and grades later on, because it feels wrong that this situation is now being shoved under the rug and the fact that students would probably continue to think they had to attend and pay an outrageous $95 if another student hadn’t called the dean out on his actions, rather than it being reported. i’m just not sure to who and where

2025.01.18 06:40 Mr_Automaticc Amplifier: Help me decide
New here and ready to learn. I’m already a DIY HT enthusiast and I’ve done some car audio upgrades but nothing too crazy until now.
I recently purchased a new SuperDuty crew cab that I plan on keeping for a long time. I have also purchased stereo integrity TM65s and MK25s. The current plan is to do a 2 way active up front and leave the factory rears for the time being. I also have a SI SQL12 that I would like to utilize even if that means losing the rear middle seat. I also have purchased an Audison SR 1.500 for sub duty. Previously the SQL ran off a JP8 in my last vehicle.
I’m torn on what main amp to use. I’m trying to get feedback from those of you that have used some of the options I’ve halfway decided on. As of now I’d like to go Audison M8.14 or C8.14 with woofers bridged. Other options in that price range are the Helix v8 on the higher end of what I’d like to spend or the Alpine Optim8 on the budget end. At this point I’m leaning towards the C8 but I don’t want to be underwhelmed. Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.

anyone have any recommendations for dramas that give you the butterflies? It can be sweet/wholesome drama but i mean intense butterflies.
what i mean by this is like the drama Nevertheless. even tho the ML was so toxic the butterflies were insane. the physical touch and how he was always like touching her and whispering to her was so fluttery. also their intimate moments were so peak.
i have watched many dramas but nothing that gives as intense butterflies as Nevertheless
