My partner (23M) and I (23F) have been together for 2 years. We’re long distance right now (opposite sides of the country), during his first year of medical school. However, we’re very serious about each other and I’m contemplating moving in with him next year. As the time comes closer, I’ve started thinking more about what moving would actually look like and what our future will be like down the line. Before he started medical school, I was so worried about long distance and if he would be too busy for me. I used to envision a life with a partner who had lots of time for me. Fortunately for us, I’ve adjusted my expectations and worked to understand how important this goal is for him. The last few months haven’t been so bad, and I love him so much. He’s putting in so much work to be an amazing doctor and I’m very proud! On top of that, we FaceTime daily (!) and have been loving golden weekends — perfect times for me to fly over and have quality time together. He’s truly prioritizing the relationship while still focusing on his career and I’m so grateful for him. Butttt I know this is probably the easiest it’s going to be a for a LONG time. This semester is already exponentially harder than the last, and I can’t imagine how much harder it will get over time. Here’s where I need some input from people who have been through this whole journey. I’d appreciate anyone sharing their experience with these questions: How did your relationship change throughout your partner’s rotations, residency, attending life etc? Was it feasible for you to continually change/lower your old expectations for a relationship (if that’s how you used to see relationships… I’m a romantic lol)? Did it turn out better than you feared or worse? I see so many painful posts here so I’m secretly hoping I’ll see more optimistic responses 🤣 I’m very serious about him and really want this to work. He’s seriously the most capable person I know and he deserves to realize this longtime dream. But I also used to dream about having a solid family and plenty of quality time with my partner. That’s why I ultimately switched from pre-med to pre-PA (though I predict part of me will long for having that deeper knowledge and training and capability to make the hard decisions, but I digress). Right now I think I’m willing to sacrifice that romantic dream for him, but I don’t know if I’m being a little codependent and if those sacrifices are a betrayal of myself. I have a history of placing the person I love entirely over myself, so I really can’t tell. Oof that’s a long post. I just feel like a little girl speculating and catastrophizing the future and need some insight from the adults here 😭 TLDR: how did your relationship change throughout your partner’s journey in medicine? Were you able to adapt, or do you regret committing so deeply to the medspouse life?

 | Visiting my parents and I found my old stash of pencils. I wrote a lot. I wasn't picky back then and just took whatever was available, mostly Kooh-I-Noor school pencils. Thanks to survivorship bias, most of the stubs are Kooh-I-Noor 1500 pencils (from HB to 6B), my favorite back then. Left to right: Kooh-I-Noor 1703/2 (don't let the golden paint fool you, 1703s are school pencils and 1703/2 has a standard greyish blue coat normally) Kooh-I-Noor 1703/3 (standard green school pencil) Kooh-I-Noor with fruity green print, probably HB Kooh-I-Noor with fruity orange print, probably HB Conté evolution 650 HB (it says France, I remember not liking it back then, it had this weird rubbery and overly-smooth feel) no name pencil that used to have smiley faces print no name blue triangular pencil no name shiny silver pencil Office HB pencil with black coat (unreadable) Friendship 9255 HB, red and black striped (I actually like this one, I have to look it up) Office HB pencil with golden coat The picture with stubs: Mostly Kooh-I-Noor 1500 stubs. Hello everyone! I have been facing black screen issue while launching game on my laptop with amd rx 550 gpu. Mainly i have faced this issue while in fortnite lobby, but recently it has happened with valarant as well. The temps are also not that crazy high. I have tried reinstalling drivers using ddu, i have reinstalled windows as well. Does that mean its a hardware failure? If so how can i be sure and is there any fix?

I recently watched wild earth safari on YouTube and saw the trust the wildlife esp. the elephants have towards the cars and humans. So I wonder how they do population control without the elephant losing this trust? Do the elephants differentiate between hunters and other humans? Is the culling done in a way it's disconnected to humans in their view or done indirectly?
