Sudden feeling of fainting while eating – what could this be?
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can help me or has experienced something similar. I had a really scary experience today that I can’t explain.
This morning, I went for a jog without eating or drinking anything beforehand. Afterward, I rested a bit and then started eating. While I was eating and looking out the window – kind of lost in thought, almost in a daydream – I suddenly felt like I was about to faint. It felt like I was being “knocked out of reality” or like a slap in the face. The sensation was so intense that it triggered a lot of anxiety.
For context: • I hadn’t eaten or drunk anything before jogging (except some supplements like Omega-3, magnesium, and a B-complex vitamin). • I often deal with derealization, but this felt different and more physical. • The whole experience shook me, and now just thinking about it makes me feel like it might happen again.
Has anyone else experienced something like this or has any idea what it could be? Could it be related to my blood sugar, circulation, or something else? I’d really appreciate any advice or insights.

2025.01.18 18:40 shiibopi Beam Gen2 randomly activates Voice Assistant/lowers volume
I recently bought a Beam Gen2, connected it to my Google home/Google Assistant. Now I have noticed it suddenly started lowering the volume at random times while we watch TV.
I turned on the "Wake word chime" in the settings, because I suspected its the voice assistant thats lowering the volume to listen for commands. Sure enough, next time the volume was automatically lowered, the chime also played.
Anyone else experienced this? I never chose a wake word, so I dont know if there is some default word that it might pickup from the TV audio.. I just assumed it would listen for the Google command as its connected to Google Assistant (Hey Google/Ok Google).
Not a big issue, I can always turn off the assistant and disconnect the Sonos from the Google home ecosystem. How do I check which word the Beam uses as wake word? And is it possible to change it?

I just had my first long (ish) chat that actually required me to input long term pinned memories for the first time so the ai doesn't forget the important parts of our conversation. However I realized that I used up almost 3000 characters in the 5000 character limit for the memories. If I kept the chat up I would surely fill up the memories.
How do use the pinned memories feature resourcefuly without filling it up too quickly? I assume my method of summarizing important memories is not the most optimized way?

2025.01.18 18:40 Cherimbba Mismatched ears after 6 years with no plugs
I was 16mm both ears when I was pregnant with my first son but my body rejected all my piercings while pregnant and they gradually closed to about 6mm each side. I’m putting my plugs back in 6 years later and my left lobe is stretching mega fast while my right is pretty normal.
I got a 6mm dead stretch plug in both lobes easily about a month ago, then in 2 weeks my left was falling out while I slept and an 8mm went in no problem, then the same another week later and a 10mm went in my left lobe no problem and a 7mm in my right. Now my 10mm is loose and keeps falling out but my 7mm right is still snug, should I just size them up individually and have mismatched ears for a bit? I’m not really wanting to have a 5mm difference or wear a lighter tunnel in my left and keep my dead stretcher in my right as I like it to look neat. Idk what’s best to do, any ideas?

2025.01.18 18:40 umitseyhan I'd like to see a built-in circle to search feature in FF desktop.
I think this would be a great way to search things within FF, like holding right click to draw the circle, from there a little overlay pops up screenshot options on the top-right where we can OCR the text or send the image to our default search engine. What do you think about it?

Hi all..I remmeber playing myst a few times on my friends PC in the 90's, it was all very confusing- but the atmosphere and vibe of the game and importance are immeasurable.
I recently noticed "Riven" is on the ipad store, should I buy? I remember being gifted Riven when it first came out but my PC was like just barely not good enough to run it...I got a newe pc a couple years later and could not find all the Riven discs :( (I was a kid).
Thinkijng about taking a gamble and paying a few bucks for Riven, amny advice would be great without spoilers! I really want to beat it. It is really unlike the Arma game I usually play, I also play Phasmophobia and TES Morrowind/ Oblivion.

Hello, I’m having an issue with my Proxmox server, and I hope someone can help me.
I wanted to make my Proxmox server accessible from the internet.
For this, I created an LXC container for a reverse proxy using Nginx. The setup is working, and I was able to reach my Proxmox server from the internet.
Next, I wanted to apply some security updates. I created a couple of user accounts (two) with permissions to start virtual machines (e.g., for my game servers).
Additionally, I enabled 2FA for the root@pam account using my authenticator app.
I also added a group in which I intended to include the two new users. When setting up the group, I was prompted to choose a path, and I selected the path to a previously created pool.
I tested whether I could access Proxmox from the internet via my domain — and it worked. I was able to log in with my test users.
Around the same time, I noticed that my root session had been disconnected.
When I tried to log in again, I received the message: “Login failed. Please try again.” I am using the Linux PAM realm since it involves the root@pam account (though it also fails when using the Proxmox user management).
I tried Login via Web UI and tried By connecting Keyboard to the Server itself. As user i tried root and root@pam Both dont work.
I suspect the issue is related to 2FA. I can still log in with the test users, but they have limited permissions — only to access one VM for a game server, where I have full control over the VM.
I hope you can help me, as I currently have no access to the root account.
Additional note: I also cannot access the root account via SSH. The message I get is: “Permission denied, please try again.“

Hey everyone, I’ve been experiencing something really strange, and I’m not sure what to make of it. I wanted to share my story and see if anyone has had similar experiences or ideas about what’s going on.
It started recently while I was recording my Call of Duty gameplay. My computer was OFF, but I heard a distinct whistle. It was so clear and out of place that even my mom, who was nearby, heard it. At first, I thought it might be some weird background noise or maybe even something from outside, but things got stranger.
A couple of days later, I stepped outside, and I heard the whistle again. This time it came from my right side. It felt like it was directed at me, but there was no one around. Then, just today, I heard the whistle for the third time, but now it came from my left side.
Here’s where it gets even creepier: My cousin mentioned hearing strange voices in the same area before. We’ve all noticed these sounds at different times, and they’re always unexplainable.
I’ve tried thinking logically – could it be the wind, animals, or maybe someone playing a prank? But it feels different. The whistle is so deliberate, and it only happens when I least expect it.
I’m starting to wonder if this could be something paranormal. I know some cultures say whistling can attract spirits or even be a sign of a presence, and honestly, I’m not ruling anything out at this point.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Have you ever experienced something like this? Could there be a natural explanation I’m missing, or is this something I should look into more deeply?
If it helps, I’m thinking of setting up a recording device next time I hear it to capture the sound. Any advice on how to approach this would be appreciated.
