Just curious. I’m a near daily Cash5 player (still very bitter about it going up to $2)-just one ticket at a time. Winning a couple hundred thousand would be just fine for me. I’d pay off my house and vehicle which would be nice from a cash flow perspective. When I was in high school a family down the road from us hit the Pick6 for something like $5-6 million. The dad was a general contractor, basically a one man show-a guy, a truck full of tools, etc…after they won they stayed in the same house (but remodeled extensively) and the dad still worked but his operation got larger and he became more of a full on developer. The mom worked too but I can’t remember what she did.
I met this guy a couple of years ago because I did some work with an organization he supported:

Super nice guy, very unassuming, still lives locally. Extremely generous to various charities in the area and not public about it either. It’s well known that he donates a lot of money but not because he is out there trumpeting it. From what I’ve heard he did it all exactly right, hired advisors he could trust, he’s now very diversified with investments in various areas, etc…I think he’s probably the only person I’ve ever met worth anywhere near that much.

How are you all rediscovering/reacquainting yourself?
I’d always struggled with depression but the pandemic brought on a lot of grief and other things that made the perfect storm to bring me down farther than ever.
5 years later I finally feel semi-functioning but cant help but notice I’m not finding or experiencing joy in the easy way I used to. I don’t laugh freely anymore. I’m having a hard time picturing a future me where being that way would feel authentic. Is that over for me? Was the spark of my youth stolen by survival? (Not to be TOO dramatic lol)

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport 4.7L V8 and the thermostat keeps failing. My father has put at least 2 thermostats on the truck in the past 2 years but they continue to fail as I have just gotten a code on my OBD2 reader that the thermostat stays open for too long leading the engine to not reach optimal operating temp. What could be the problem?

2025.01.18 18:52 moarmagic 95 hours, and i finally beat the game.
I am smart, in some ways. People respect me at my job, i swear.
But for some reason my brain has never been great at intuitively comprehending game systems. And it doesn't help that when playing roguelikes, i do just kinda expect to die a lot, blame some of it on poor RNG, and not just really grasp some of the mechanics.
Anyway. 80 goddamn hours in, and i didn't realize that killing the crew of enemy ships resulted in better scrap, vs just blowing them up, until I ran across one comment that made me start looking up this community and read the wiki. I had written off Ion weapons as a gimmick- but 'surely a weapon that can do hull damage and system damage would be preferable'.
I never really invested heavily in engines.
I downplayed missiles because "A drone has better damage-per-part, and teleporting bombs ignore shields and drones".
I don't think i had ever bought a teleporter.
I'd still managed a couple ship unlocks. I still had been enjoying the game. But damn, the last 15 hours in it i've been playing an entirely different game.
Looking forward to continuing to unlock things, and eventually install multiverse.
