My SDIT has a hard time with coffee shops, he gets VERY excited by all the smells and people. Today we went to a small one and he's doing GREAT! I have his training treat on the table and he isn't bothered at all. Just straight chillin. He's doing so well, just quietly lying down under the table and watching people come and go.
He just turned two and is mostly husky. I am EXTREMELY proud of him today. There are lots of outings he wants to talk to or greet everyone. If you're training your own SD remember that good, easy days can come around <3

2025.01.18 19:00 FancyControl4774 WIBTA if I sent this text out? I'm 25 years old and my family still "invites" me to gatherings via my parents, who I haven't lived with in over 8 years
I’m 25 years old & I have been moved out, living on my own well over an hour away from my hometown since I was 17. So 8 years now. I’m not particularly close with my father, closer with his wife than him actually.
Anytime there is any sort of family gathering whether it’s a baby shower, a reunion of sorts, a holiday dinner, whatever, there’s always a group chat going on, a text sent out by 1 person to all of the adults, or a physical mailed invite. However, I have not received my own individual invitation to anything, EVER. It’s always up to my dad &/or his wife to let me in on these plans.
This is starting to become a problem because my dad & his wife are BUSY! They have 3 young kids at home to plan for, manage & worry about. They shouldn’t need to be planning & managing for me too. Yet, they are. & they don’t even seem to realize it, as I am regularly not told about ANYTHING until MAYBE 2 days beforehand, at best, & am always met with “I thought (whoever invited them) would’ve texted you too???” - which yeah, FAIR ASSUMPTION!
So anyways, I’ve really had it at this point. It’s really making me SAD at this point! I am very close with my family & gathering with them is very important to me. My dad’s wife causally asked me today “are you going to (cousin I grew up with)‘s baby shower today?”. I had NO IDEA about ANY baby shower! I told her that, & she felt terrible, told me that she’s known about it for about a month but isn’t able to make it so didn’t think to mention it to me, assuming that I would have been invited by the same person that invited her / everyone else.
I reached out to my cousin & apologized for not being able to make it, so on & whatever, but the next time something like this happens, I am really wanting to send this text out to whatever family member it is doing the inviting / planning to make it very clear that I am very much my own, ADULT person, & that still trying to go thru my parents is not working.
Would I be the asshole?
“Hey! moving forward I would really appreciate if I myself was invited to these sorts of things. I think it’s just kind of been assumed that my dad &/or (dads wife) will invite me or keep me updated on plans like this but they are very busy themselves & do have 3 actually small kids at home to plan for & manage, so when it’s up to them to invite their adult daughter who isn’t even around, I’m very often kind of forgotten about until the last second, when at that point it’s either impossible or very difficult for me to make it work. & this is nobody’s fault of course! But if I myself could be shot a text or involved in a group chat or sent an invite or whatever it is, same as all the other adults, that would make things a lot easier for me & guarantee my appearance, which is very important to me as I always want to gather with family! I never want to miss things like this! I know everyone’s hearts are in the right place of course, but I don’t think it’s been made clear by anyone that planning for me thru my dad &/or Ashley has not been working out for any of us for a very long time now & im often left feeling very sad & left out over it”
