My husband has a fractured bone in his foot and had to get a cast boot on his left leg. Unfortunately, it’s giving him a lot of pain in the right leg because the boot leg is just a bit taller. Has anyone had this experience and did they find inserts in the other shoe worked? This is the second time this has happened and he tried inserts the first time, but it didn’t work very well.

2025.01.18 19:07 JNash2019 My personal experience with New Rega ND5 comparing to Exact 2 Cartridge
There has been frustratingly almost no content to compare the new line of Rega cartridges to the previous models, so I'm hoping this will help some people make a decision. Upgrade or not. Embarrassingly I have 6 modern model turntables and a baaaad case of FOMO, especially for brands I'm a fanboy of, like Rega.
Given that it's been a decade since Rega released new cartridges, it was a fair assumption that the new ND range were a true upgrade. I'm not tech savvy cartridge design guy, but the ultra-high powered Neodymium magnet is the core "revolution" of the ND series. The ND5 and Exact 2 are priced the same and would be shooting for the same mid range buyer.
So I kept my P3 with the Exact 2 and purchased a NEW P3 with an ND5. Using exact same setup. Rega MM MK5 phono stages and KEF LS550 powered speakers. (Don't judge you audiophiles...they are fire).
*Cartridge Size*
The ND series cartridges are much deeper than the older cartridges. The stylus protrudes with less protection. I am sure this will all affect mounting and balancing, but my factory installed cartridge was super easy to work with in set up. Going to have to worry about protecting that stylus.
*Soundstage*
The Exact 2 has always been my favorite. It is very warm and has a very good soundstage. The bass is punchy. If anything I'd say the high end can be a little muted. Not muddy...just not as detailed. The ND5 blows the Exact away. It's extremely open with amazing separation and clarity. I though the Exact would be hard to beat. Not at all. I hear detail I haven't heard on my A/T Shibata VM95 or my Ortofon Black.
*Volume*
ND5 wins here hands down. The new magnets do put out greater volume. I've cranked it and there is zero distortion.
*Bass*
This was a big fear. I'm a basshead and the Exact has, IMO, excellent sub bass and that thump that is so satisfying for EDM, pop and Rap. I actually like the bass response on the ND5, but it's definitely different. There is a very tight punchy bass response, but no rumble. Given the excellent separation, the mid bass shines on the ND5. There is what I would call it a balanced bass response and the mid and treble makes it fuller, but it sounds excellent. I'll still use my Exact for the deeper bass I love, but pop records just sound better on the ND5. Jazz sounds better with the warmth of Exact.
So in summary, is the ND5 a MAJOR upgrade, and would I upgrade and give up my Exact 2? YES and yes. I'm so glad I don't have to lose the Exact completely, but it would be an easy choice to get the superb ND5.

 | I am fairly new into researching about led lighting and could use some advice. There is an outlet inside the middle cabinet on the left. My current plan is to plug dc12v 120w power supply to this controller: https://a.co/d/fJT2MAR The led strips I was originally thinking of using are this rgbcct strip: https://a.co/d/gZ81MGO From the controller, I will connect the first led strip that will go underneath the left cabinets. Now here comes what I need some advice with. I need to go up and around the sink to the other cabinets. My current plan is to run a 18/6 wire to the other side and solder to the 2nd led strip in the run. I have never soldered before, but it does not look to be some impossible task. I do wonder if it would be difficult to solder 6 of the bigger sized wires to this led strip. I was told to go with the lower gauge wire to avoid power loss, going up and around the sink, the extension wire would be around 8 feet. I could use a 22 gauge extension, but I am concerned about power loss. I will also need to make a right angle on the right cabinets, and was exploring the idea of using some cat 5e or 6 l have to make that right angle, as it would only need to be a half a foot long. Unsure if this is advised or not. I have seen there are solder-less clips, but I do not think I could use those with a thicker gauge wire, unless first connecting a piece of cat to the led strip, then using wago connectors to connect to the thicker 18 gauge wire? This is my first attempt at this, so any advice will be appreciated! Also worth noting that my ceiling lights are more of a warm white, so I am unsure if going with a cooler white would look funny, so I wanted to opt for the option to go between both and see what looks better. This adds the 6th connection on the led strip, but I could opt just for the rgbww led strip with 5 connections. Also integrating it with Google home is a must for my wife. My wife must be able use Google to turn on/off and change the lights occasionally. This is why I opted for that controller as opposed to putting wled on a board, as from my understanding wled isn’t natively supported in googles ecosystem? I have often heard bride's mother insulting groom's mother because her son gifted a "not so expensive" item. How can a man earning 50-70k PKR expected to gift a gold jewellery set worth 0.5-1 million PKR apart from all the expenses of wedding ceremony?
Not only this tradition has its roots from Hinduism, it sounds weird too. I mean the man has already looked at her face many times before marriage then why its called "Munh Dikhai" as if he doing so for the first time?

Hi folks, my parents gave me implicit permission to ordain when I was 42 years old, that was 2 years ago.
Recently I started to meet monks and nuns. I asked them about it. I also attended Christian churches starting in 2023 that had pamphlets about monasticism.
However they said interested parties need to be 18-35 (in both Eastern and Western religions). I've considered enlisting in the military, and been rejected from the US military for my psychiatric history between the ages of 2 and 10. At my age it's no longer an option.
Buddhist communities in my state have the same age range unless you want to pay $900 a month.
Does anyone on this sub practice independent Monasticism at home and they follow a specific vinaya independently.
Do you shave your head and eyebrows as an independent monastic or do you just keep the daily office, stop eating at noon etc. Or do you create your own spiritual practice. I just keep the office and eat once a day.
Moreover have you used the Military or a sport such as CrossFit, ballet, martial arts or weightlifting as a way to give yourself a monastic disciplined experience.
What are your thoughts on the matter. I never got to play a sport competitively as a kid because my schools didn't have a team (this is related to my psych history).

Just giving my experience (n=1) with a single bottle of Pineapple Frais. I got it 3 weeks ago and it initially smelt pleasant, but had a bit of alcoholic edge to it that reminded me of cheaper blue fragrances (eg. Light Blue Intense). Over the last few weeks, the scent has truly evolved to become much smoother, much more nuanced in terms of discernible notes (birch, orange, bergamot etc), and just a lot better. I used to wonder if maceration is real, but I guess it does exist for made to order colognes like Montagne.
