I am 27 almost 28 years old, female. I am a recovering alcoholic. In less than a month I will achieve 6 years sober. Recently I have been heavily struggling with my physical health, not due to my addiction. I have Epilepsy and Endometriosis. About a week ago I spent the night in the hospital due to a cyst rupturing in my uterus causing by far the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced in my short lifetime. And causing a lot of bleeding having me in and out of consciousness. Due to the pain I was in they administered Morphine. I was hesitant but I knew I needed it so I took it. Knowing that if a medical professional prescribed it it is not a relapse. But now I’m being prescribed pain medications. Like Oxy and high doses of Naproxen. I took the Naproxen but man that messed me up. I’m a very tiny adult. I never messed with narcotics or opiates in any way. I just drank and I smoke weed occasionally to help with pain and anxiety. But I’ve already got doctors accusing me of being not sober again because of the benzos being given to me by my epilepsy doctor. Now I’m being given scary pain meds by other doctors. I’m not ok with all of this. I’m gonna need surgery soon. What kind of meds are they going to want to give me then?

2025.01.18 23:12 General_Analyst_5772 My diagnosed mentally ill parents forced me to take Oregon State Uni Ecampus (poli sci + psychology). What grad school can I get into?
After my dad had a stroke after years of my "very psychotic" mom's criminal violence, I took years off to help him. So it has taken me nine years to get my four year degree. Law school's unadvised unless you can get into the top which might be difficult as I finally try to treat my CPTSD (+possible autoimmune condition I'm still getting tested) and lawyers suggested I improve my mental health before going.
I ranked and tested nationally gifted before my diagnosed delusional disorder and Cluster B mom started violently targeting me in high school causing insomnia. My parents refused to let me leave forcing me to get an online four year degree that paused multiple times tiptoeing around my suicidal dad and Cluster B mom (dropping my GPA).
I considered IO Psychology and CS before my dad's stroke but I'm unsure now, especially with my ADHD + computer scientists say it's a bad time to enter the field. My ADHDer sister said I could do well in her work of mech engineering building's systems (first, drafting) and my math skills could return. My dad previously found me a job as a biotech dr's assistant but he's unkind so I might not take it. Product Managers advise against entering the field these years too.
What paths can I do? I just want a secure work that'll provide independence, thorough healthcare, and for my future children. My friends are in NY, Vancouver, London, and I wanted to be near them but dk if schools will accept a nine year online degree. My parents said they'll pay for a master's. Thank you in advance.

 | Hey everyone, just picked up my first pair of Docs since the 90’s (lol I’m old) and just had some question about break in and stretching. I picked these up in an 11 since they don’t have half sizes and I’m a true 10.5. The 10s were too snug, and the 11s too loose without their inserts so I got the inserts as well. I’m curious about the stretching of the leather with break-in. Right now they are just a tad snug on the pinky toes with the inserts, to the point where if I tried to wear them all day it would def be a pain but not undoable. Title is pretty much explanatory, was on salads for about 4 months and recently got moved to sauté. I’m good on both cook sides. ( we have two separate gas ovens for two people) but recently my sous wants me to start running the screen and calling all orders to the cooks and my second plater on my station. However I feel myself getting very overwhelmed the second we have like 15 orders going at once, ( cooks have 11 burners combined ). What can I do to best manage my stress level and regain focus?

I’ve been to physical therapy about 3 months now
The question is: after I get an mri will they just tell me to keep doing PT? What if it’s nothing and it’s just common back pain from things like sitting all day and a weakened core?
At the same time…this pain is excruciating. I want my life back

 | Hi guys, trying to get up to speed with AC, and have just 100% both origins and odyssey. Had a blast on both, and originally played Valhalla when it came out. I put it down after countless hours spent on the river raids. I’m around power level 220, and totally lost after jumping back in. I am not too sure how far I got in the story, but now am a bit overwhelmed by the amount of things I’ve got in the game. I’ve approx 100 hours in so ok trying to understand what had happened. I want to learn to use Nsight (Graphics) for profiling, so I ran it with a small program (based on Vulkan tutorial with some additional small modifications) to see what gives. One of the first things that drew my attention was that vkQueuePresentKHR() was reporting to be taking around 6ms every frame. Is this supposed to be a normal duration? I find it a bit too much, what would be a more typical one?
In code, I'm using VK_PRESENT_MODE_MAILBOX_KHR as the preferred presentation mode and VK_FORMAT_R8G8B8A8_SRGB for the surface (if that matters). In Nvidia control panel I have Vulkan present method to "Prefer native" and Vsync to "Use the 3d application setting". I don't know what other information could help. RTX 4070 Super, Windows 10. Thanks for any hints!

Hello everyone, I have two locations both equipped with a UDM Pro, running UniFi Protect CCTV and networking at each site. I'm considering using Site-to-Site VPN to connect them, with the main site housing the UNAS Pro for storing CCTV backups. Is this a viable option need to know before getting the Unas or I may get a other nas product. The sites would have a smaller HDD and the Unas will be equipped with much more storage for long term.
