Could someone tell me if it is advisable to buy the Google Streamer TV 4K right now, or if, based on other similar products, it will have some price cuts in the coming months?
The only product I wanted from Google was the Nest Audio, and I got it for almost half the launch price. However, that was a few years ago, so I don't know how Google handles the prices of its products now.

2025.01.18 22:58 npaladin2000 Maverick Hybrid drive modes (2022 Hybrid)
I haven't seen anything comprehensive on these, just the typical stuff about the name being what it's for. So since others might be interested I'll share this. If anyone has any additions or corrections, please let me know.
- Normal - Yeah.
- Slippery - I haven't figured out exactly what this does. It doesn't feel any different at all. Any help on this one?
- Eco - Seems like normal, except the regen braking is turned way up. You can almost one-pedal drive this way (maybe someone else can but I can't).
- Sport - Throttle response seems to be sharpened here. But the CVT is still in CVT mode (if they were going to add fake gears I figured it would be here).
- Tow/Haul - This one is interesting. The engine seems to always be running except at a stop (so like an auto stop/start mode). The regen braking is turned way up, I guess to simulate engine braking? Definitely not as effective as a jake brake. And the CVT suddenly has gears. Which I get but I don't get why.

So this isn't necessarily for me as I'm 19, but my dad. He's currently bed ridden due to medical issues and has asked me about maybe getting him on vrchat so he's no so isolated and bored for the next few weeks. He has a general idea what the game is because of me playing for a few years now.
I'm just concerned about setting him up and letting him lose due the stigma of older people playing the game being.. Well you know, he's in the 50+ group of people (would kill me if I say his exact age lol).
So I guess I'm just asking if there's good places I can point him to where he's less likely to be harassed for his age?

2025.01.18 22:58 DUHockeyBot Is there an alternative to SportsRadar for a college hockey real-time API? They're asking $1800/month and don't really have a plan that lends itself to non-profit/light usage.
I got a 30-day trial as a proof of concept. I set up a schedule on AWS that pings SportsRadar once per morning to see if DU has a game that day.
If they do, I get the game data, and
- Create a GameDay thread post on /DUSports with basic info about the day's game.
- Set up a new event on AWS. At the scheduled puck drop, then every 3 minutes, the event pings SportsRadar's live box score for that game, and uses it to update the reddit GameDay post.
- The "every 3 minute" check ends either when (a.) SportsRadar marks the game complete, or (b.) 4 hours after pick drop.
On a week with 2 games, it makes at most ~250 API calls per week. In reality, closer to ~150 per week. I get why they charge $1800/month, but that's obviously not an option for what we're doing.
I'm thinking I may just build a screen scraper at this point - is there a better alternative?

I’m 26 weeks pregnant and trying to figure out if this little zapping I’ve been feeling in my vulva all day is lighting crotch or round ligament pain. It’s not super painful or anything, just small zaps kind of consistently through the day. I’m not super worried or anything, just trying to figure it out. Anyone have any idea if it could be lightning crotch this early? Or do we think it’s more likely to be round ligament pain?

I know if I'm at the point of no return, I need to go through the intersection even if the light is yellow. But if I am going at the 55 mph speed limit heading into a town where the intersection is, and the light turns yellow, it just worries me to stop because I'm just so afraid of my brakes locking up or something along those lines.
I mean if I am really close to the intersection I'll still go through, but if I am far from it, I'll stop. I guess I just have a problem understanding where the point of no return actually is. It gives me a lot of anxiety thinking about it because I'm scared of getting rear-ended and whatnot.
What is your advice for yellow lights?
