Hello! Or should stick with the Bs and say bonjour? Maybe that's too much alliteration I'm already badly breaking my brain (oh no there's more!).
Anyway thanks for getting this far and I hope my overly positive vibes aren't annoying by now, if they are let me know and I'll add a dash of pessimism to our conversation.
So, about me! I'm you're average sort of guy (thrilling I know!) and I'm out here looking for some new friends. I'm passionate about the world and all the living things in it. 2025.01.18 22:59 rubesf9 5 Days in Malta
Decided to visit Malta as my first trip of the year. Stayed for five days and I'd say the island is a great destination during the Winter: there are fewer crowds and, most of the time, you'll still get sunny and relatively warm weather. I added captions with locations on each image.
After landing and reaching St. Julian's (where I stayed), I spent the rest of the afternoon walking around St. Julian's and Sliema's coastline. The next day was spent mostly in Valletta, followed by a brief stop at Marsaxlokk's Harbour.
On my third day, I went on a boat tour and visited the islands of Gozo and Comino. Stops included Xlendi Bay, Victoria, the Blue Lagoon and the Santa Maria Caves.
The last couple of days were mostly spent exploring Malta's Northern Region. My 4th day on the island was spent seeing the Rotunda of Mosta, Mdina and Rabat, followed by a walk around the Dingli Cliffs and a visit to the promenade overlooking the Blue Grotto. On my last day, I went to Għajn Tuffieħa, the Golden Bay, and Saint Agatha's Tower, as well as a visit to Popeye Village and the Malta National Aquarium.
Most of this trip was covered by bus or Bolt. Malta's public network is cheap and reliable enough to allow you to go to the most popular destinations. In a hurry, there's plenty of Bolt/Uber all across the island to take you faster.

The power went out at my house for a few seconds. Ever since it came back on, I am having trouble connecting to my WLED board (ESP32 controller). There are two amber lights and one blue light on.
I have cycled the power, keeping the power off for about 30 seconds at a time. Also, I do not see a WLED–AP network available. Are there any ideas as to what else I can try?

I want to escape this. Move from my small town in my small country to a new bigger country where I’ll have the change to finally live my own life without bringing ‘shame’ to my family and live my life in truth, meet new people where I can finally be myself, but the closer I get to that point the more I realise I’m just not strong enough for it. I don’t want people to talk about my single mom that she has failed as a mom.
My anxiety has been giving me physical pain lately to the point I can’t breathe or move my body anymore because my back hurts so much.. I’m so scared that if I eventually do move away I’m gonna fail. That I need to go back to my family because I couldn’t do anything on my own.
I’ve been struggling a lot lately with the idea of leaving my parents behind, or more specifically, my mom. My parents are deeply religious, and I grew up in a household that revolved entirely around their faith one that I no longer believe in. I feel like I wasted my entire childhood and so much of myself on something that I don’t believe in anymore, simply because I thought I was gonna burn in hell.
I want to live for myself now. I want to be free but I’m terrified. I’m scared I’ll fail on my own and I’m so scared of what might happen to my mom once I leave. My dad’s not really in the picture anymore. he’s a fucking asshole who abandoned my mom after cheating on her multiple times. He started his own family now and still expect me to call and come over and hang and spend money on his new kids. Which I Ofcourse do because at the end they’re innnocent and I love my little sisters and I’m still the perfect religious daughter. It’s gonna be so hard to leave them.
My mom is everything to me but she never understood or really liked me. I can’t open up to her about my feelings without hurting her. I know that if I tell her I don’t believe in god anymore it would KILL her. She is still so brainwashed I think she’d feel like she failed as a mother and I hate that. I’m scared people will judge her even more if I leave. But at the same time… I can’t keep living a life that isn’t mine just to make her happy. It’s all I’ve ever done. During my parents their divorce, they divorced on my 11th birthday and I had to hold the family together meanwhile my little brothers were running around being children. I never got to do any of that. And I want to do that. I’m not a kid anymore, but I’ll be 21 in a few days ( I hate hate hate birthdays) and if I don’t move soon I’ll be regretting wasting my youth,
I could never cry without my mom yelling at me that she has it worse because she lost her husband. Everyone in the house called me fat and my nickname was ‘whale’ I have an ED now but looking back I was always skinny and I hate that I wasted those years thinking I was fat simply because of my family. My stupid religious family keeps making comments about how I need to get married soon or else I’ll be a disgrace or whatever. And I just can’t. I can’t anymore. I tried to off myself twice (when I was 9 &14) and I just don’t think I’ll be able to live anymore if I stay here.
I don’t know what to do. I want freedom, but it feels impossible to get there without breaking people lives. But on the other hand I know and completely understand it’s probably for the better for me if I go no-contact.

2025.01.18 22:59 richpanda64 Cloud Gateway Ultra -> Orbi in AP Mode, lost a lot of speed?
I recently bought a Cloud Gateway Ultra and that is currently connected from my modem, to my WiFi 6 Orbi station, and we have gigabit speeds.
Before this, the speed was regularly 800mbps+ when it was just the Orbi, but now the gateway seems to have dropped the speed to around 200mbps. Is there something I am missing? I can't find much info online about using non-ubiquiti APs with gateways. Would appreciate the help!

This has to do with romance, but I think the underlying problem has to do with mental health, hence why I am putting this here.
For a bit of background information, I have never really been the outgoing type nor the confident type. Looking back, most of the time, I have sheltered myself and my feelings from everyone in an attempt to preserve myself. I am oblivious to hints when it comes to dating or I second guess them and go with the "safe" option of "She isn't into me".
So, I have thought for some time now that I am fine with being alone and becoming that "cool single uncle", all while I wouldn't mind a relationship. However, recently I have felt that I actually do not want to end up alone (weither this is to fill a void or because I actually desire a companion, I don't know). At the same time I am unsure that I have the space to go back into dating due to developments (mainly getting a brain injury and still figuring out how to do this thing called life, with help I might add), but mainly because of mental issues.
See, in all truth and honesty, I feel like I am afraid of approaching people for no apparent reason, let alone striking up a conversation with an attractive and/or nice woman with the intent of dating. I want to get out there, but feelings like feelings of inadequacy, not being deserving of love, not being in the right headspace and (maybe at the root of it all) not being confident enough are holding me down.
What tips can you give me to overcome or atleast diminish this problem?
