Flooding isn’t strictly necessary for rice to grow – it’s an efficient way of preventing the spread of invasive weeds. It’s so fundamental to how many rice farmers operate that it’s not easy to imagine it being grown any other way. IPM involves the use of multiple strategies to manage pests, diseases and weeds in a way that minimises harm to human health and the environment. These strategies may include biological controls, crop rotation, the use of resistant varieties and cultural practices. IPM can reduce pesticide use, improve crop yields and protect natural ecosystems. Food producers face uncertainty as droughts, floods and storms become more frequent and rising temperatures lead to more disease, pests and weeds. Here are five examples from around the world. 1. 1. Alkama: uses a biological crop treatment called FITS (Factory-In-The-Soil), a complete liquid ecosystem of soil microbiology designed to produce high-yield-crops that are cost-efficient for farmers without fertilizer, pesticides, or fungicides: but instead uses fungi, bacteria, nematodes and protozoa in the production of plants, wheat and barley to overcome crop stress. Robotics is another game changer for smart farming. Being able to programme a robot to sow and remove weeds automatically across many acres of fields – some tools can kill 300,000 weeds per hour – saves farmers considerable time, stress and physical strain, for example. Regenerative agriculture can improve the health, nutrition, biodiversity, and carbon storage of soil and land that has been degraded by intensive agriculture. I’m very much against neat lawns because they have very little benefit for biodiversity. They’re usually dominated by just a few grass species. Any flowering plants that pop up in the middle of the lawn are considered weeds, and they're removed. Weeds can be nutritious and tasty, if we know which ones to pick. As the global population grows, they can be a reliable food source. Their ability to capture carbon can help tackle climate change. Weeds can also assist farmers by identifying soil problems to boost yields. Drought not only threatens crops directly, but also creates a welcoming environment for weeds like Palmer Amaranth — known as “the king of weeds.” To tackle this, researchers are using AI to unearth crop protection that is safer and more effective than what’s available on the market today. More than 1 billion data points (vision, weight, temperature, development, speed, weather, composition) are captured daily and fed into a proprietary predictive model to optimize insect breeding and rearing conditions.

My car charges consistently without disconnecting, but it’s incredibly slow, only about 1% every 30 minutes. Is that normal? Why haven’t they addressed this issue, especially considering they charge hundreds for adding this feature? I can’t tell if they’re cutting costs by installing subpar chargers or if they simply don’t understand how it should work. Should I email them about it? I imagine others have already complained.

I am a kyle apologist but I won’t get into that LOL. I’ve seen a lot of people saying they want her to leave but honestly Kyle has a complicated storyline to me that I think could become really interesting (given that yeah, she’s secretive and at an obviously weird moment of her life). I think her part of the show is more interesting than the other wives rn bc of her imperfections. Say what you want about her but I think it’s good TV!
Also, I think as on OG cast member, a bit of the structural integrity of the show is on her a little since the show has obviously been not as good as it used to be in my opinion.

This game had you playing as an orange fish-like creature with a whip like tail in a pond. The goal of each level was to collect a certain number of smaller fish before you could move onto the next level.
Enemies would approach you, and you'd die if they hit you head on, but you're able to use the end of the fish's tail to hurt and kill them (you could only input the direction you'd want to go, but turning would allow you to swing your tail).
If I can recall correctly, the pond was relatively dark and the fish's body and tail would brighten the surrounding environment.
The game was available in the AppStore in the late 2000s/early 2010s, but I don't know if it got removed or not.
