A friend of mine is visiting this weekend and he will be bringing his new(ish) born baby with him. Where can we go in the neighborhood that is baby friendly? Looking for restaurants or bars/bistros with kid seating, changing tables, can bring in strollers etc. Let me know your recommendations please!

2025.01.18 23:50 TomGerity PSA: The Spelling Bee does not increase in difficulty throughout the week. It is not like the crossword puzzle.

Proof from the NYT itself.

First, Spelling Bee doesn’t have a difficulty curve over the week, meaning a hive published on Tuesday could be as difficult as one published on Friday. But Sam Ezersky, the puzzle’s editor, added that “if there’s a very hard puzzle, I’m more likely to offer it on the weekend, but not always.”
Neither does Wordle.
I’m not sure where this got started, or why people assumed this, but this is not how the Spelling Bee works. I got downvoted for pointing this out earlier today, which baffles me; people just accept this as truth, with absolutely no sourcing for it.

2025.01.18 23:50 I_heart_Ari Is bottling up your emotions really that bad?!

So for the past few days my anxiety and depression has been super strong and when I had the urge to cry, I held it in. And I felt a little tightness in my throat while holding in the urge to cry and nothing happened. Until the next day, I felt a sudden pain in my chest that worsened when I moved or breathed deeply. It was strong and a day later it was still there but it got worse at night. That was when I finally cried so hard and it was hard to breathe and my chest was hurting even more when I cried so hard. Now, today, I feel completely better and I can breathe deeply and it won’t hurt anymore! I do have some muscle aches there in my chest but it’s completely gone for the most part. I just want to know if bottling up your emotions like this can really damage your health

2025.01.18 23:50 max_armbruster_ Older Printer Homing Issue

Hi everyone! I am at a bit of a loss. I recently pulled my old AL-4 with EZABL leveling probe out of storage and it is homing in the wrong direction in X and Y, both from the OctoPi server I am running and from the startup Gcode I have. I have tried to re-flash the firmware with hex files of what is supposedly the stock AL-4 firmware, as well as an "optimized" version (here: https://www.thingiverse.com/groups/artillery-al-4/forums/general/topic:31365#google\_vignette), as well as standard Marlin 1.1.8. I am still having the same issue. For reference, here is the starting Gcode: https://support.th3dstudio.com/helpcenteezabl-bed-leveling-starting-gcode/
Can anyone shed some light on this? The best I got over at 3Dprinting was to cut the cables on the X and Y motors and re-solder them in reverse. I don't want to go that route unless I absolutely have to. Thanks in advance!

2025.01.18 23:50 Tigershark125 Slate Roof Insurance Advice

I have a home with a slate roof. 18 months ago, hail has significantly damaged it. I have a company with slate roof experience that I have worked with to maintain the roof for the last 7 years who are recommending the roof is replaced due to the extent of the damage. The insurance company engaged an ash fault roofer with no slate roof experience to walk the roof and claim there is only spalling, conveniently avoiding the visible damage (from the ground) in his report. The company has said we will need an engineer to arbitrate and put forward an individual with a negative reputation in the Midwest with the slate roofers. When I did homework on the individual forwarded and their company, they had no residential or commercial slate experience and advertised mostly commercial. When asked for their experience and references, there was radio silence. It was left to me to find someone to do an analysis and recommendation to the insurance company.
Is there someone/company that works with insurance companies and has experience with residential slate roof?

2025.01.18 23:50 Apart-Chef8225 ⭐️Who is the cornerstone that the builders rejected?

⭐️Who is the cornerstone that the builders rejected?
First: The Bible says:
(And we have the prophetic word, which is more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any person’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy ever came by the will of God. man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:19-21)
Therefore, we will not interpret it for you, but we will write the interpretation for you with the pronunciation of the Holy Revelation.
The prophet spoke in the Psalms saying:
( The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone . This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.) (Psalm 118:22-23)
And Jesus Christ was talking about himself when he said:
“Hear another parable: There was a certain householder who planted a vineyard, and put a hedge around it, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to tenant farmers, and went into a distant country.
And when the time of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive his fruits.
So the vinedressers took his servants and beat some, killed some, and stoned others.
Then he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.
Finally he sent his son to them, saying: They will respect my son !
But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, “This is the heir; come, let us kill him and take his inheritance.”
So they took him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
So when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”
They said to him, “He will destroy those wicked men and will let out the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures, ‘ The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone .’ This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.”
Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.
And whoever falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder .”
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they knew that he spoke about them.
And when they sought to seize him, they feared the multitudes, because they regarded him as a prophet. (Matthew 21:33-46)
If the Jews understood that the talk was about them, then who do you think was the stone that the builders rejected in Christ’s words???
Isn't he speaking about himself, the foundation stone on which the whole building is built, and about whom all the prophets prophesied - that is, Christ?
And so that we do not leave you in a state of confusion of guesswork and thinking, this is the Holy Revelation that says explicitly that the stone that the builders rejected is the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
While they were speaking to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple guard, and the Sadducees came up to them.
They were tired of teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
Then they laid hands on them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.
And many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, their elders, and their scribes came together to Jerusalem.
With Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and all who were of the family of the high priests.
And when they had set them in the midst, they began to ask them, “By what power or in what name have you done this?”
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel,
If we are examining today whether a person has been kind to a sick person, by what means he was healed?
Let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him this man stands before you whole.
This is the stone which you builders despised, which has become the cornerstone .
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.’” So when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and uninitiated men, they marveled. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:1-13)
Is there any doubt after this that the prophecy in the Old Testament, and the parable that the Lord Jesus Christ told, and the explanation of the Holy Spirit through the Holy Revelation that the stone that the builders rejected and became the cornerstone, is the Lord Jesus Christ himself???
(For we are God’s fellow workers, you are God’s field, God’s building.
According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise master builder, I have laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But let each one take heed how he builds upon it.
For no one can lay any other foundation than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:9-11)
(Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone , in whom the whole building, being fitly framed together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God through the Spirit.) (Ephesians 2:20-22)
May the peace of God enlighten your heart and mind to understanding and wisdom in knowing the holy divine revelation in the Lord Jesus Christ, the cornerstone , in whom there is no salvation. ✝️🕊

2025.01.18 23:50 MajinPlaton Das land der dichter und denker

Das land der dichter und denker with the germanic empire officially integrating the nation of Hellenia and therefore all of its fleet (being updated now with all of their research abilities), germanic scientisis decided to take a loot at the so called "matchlock rifles" employed by other nations. after a few weeks of tinkering with its design, they have managed to upgrade it:
instead of the gunpowder being on the outside of the rifle, leading to ineffectiveniss in rain, both it and the gunpowder have been put into internal compartments, operated by a handcrank on the outside. the official designation of this rifle is the "Karl Toff Repetiergewehr" after his designer, Karl van Toffensahr
This ingenious flintlock weapon, crafted with unmatched skill, holds within its frame the power of multiple shots, ready to fire without the need for constant reloading. Its secret lies in a mechanism of dual magazines—one for powder, the other for bullets—operated by a single, swift motion of the lever. It is a weapon not merely of war but of precision and efficiency, a testament to the mastery of our craftsmen and the innovation of our age!
Picture of the Karl Toff repeater
the empty stage of the repeater
the first pump of the lever: the ball is pusted upwards, powder is fed into the primary chamber from the powder magazine
after the lever is pulled back into position: the ball sits atop the powder in the primary chamber, the priming slot or secondary chamber is primed, ready to be stricken
as our proud nation continues to improve upon the desings of other nations, we have decided on the following:
the nations of
the former lowland confederation and dem Arkillische Kaiserreichsbund will recieve permission to forge this weapon
