Hear me out. This proposal may be outlandish, but extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures..
I just hit my big 3 this year and I am starting to notice a trend among my friends, with many of them working in finance/tech/civil service and earning a relatively high income. Out of them many are in the “sandwiched” class, too poor for private but rich enough to over pay for resale HDBs, and had seen many of them doing so. Especially with the long waiting times for BTO (1992-1995 class of babies) would know this.
One way of smoothing out the demand curve, would be shifting this “sandwiched”group to the private markets, and not have them distorting the pricing in HDB resale. Of course, to avoid a case of disrupting the private markets, the subsidy will only be extended to couples/ singles >35 who would be otherwise eligible for resale HDB.

been thinking about how countries impose sanctions on one another for unfair practices or actions they disagree with. The USA banned TikTok in certain cases (and is pushing for more restrictions), citing privacy and security concerns. But what if we flipped the script?
If a country like the USA bans a foreign-owned app, isn’t that a form of economic protectionism or digital discrimination? Other countries rely on TikTok as part of their companies’ revenue streams or as a platform for creators to thrive internationally. This ban disrupts that ecosystem.
Why don’t other countries or organizations (like the EU or WTO) consider countermeasures or sanctions against the USA for actions like this? Wouldn’t it send a stronger message about fair treatment in the global digital economy?
Or is it that the USA’s economic and geopolitical power makes it untouchable when it comes to things like sanctions?
Curious to hear thoughts on whether this is feasible or why it wouldn’t work.

I love to write detailed descriptions and delve into a character’s head/emotions as well as surroundings. I compare it to writing a novel together. I expect to mirror lengths (3 - 5+ paragraphs) but if there are action or dialogue heavy scenes, I tend to do a shorter back and forth to keep the momentum going.

I recently purchased a new central heating and air system to replace my old one. My installer told me I would need to install a new 6/2 romex with a 60 amp breaker. The wire that’s currently there is a 6/2 romex on a 40 amp breaker. So would that wire be ok just change the 40 amp breaker with a 60 amp breaker?
