Hey everyone! I have a situation that I'd love to get some insight on.
I am an engineer with nearly a decade of experience. I am an average dev but very personable and have found success more on my soft skills than deep engineering knowledge - this will come into play later.
I am currently employed at "Company X" and through Company X I have been contracted out to "Company Y" for the past 1.5 years or so.
Now, Company Y is a big name company, not FAANG but close - most people use their product.
Here is my situation: My manager at Company Y wants to hire me on - I've done good work for them and have only been given positive reviews from said manager who has a solid amount of pull so it's not totally unexpected, but my concern is about the actual interview process.
I havent done leetcode style questions in nearly a decade and would never attempt to interview at Company Y normally as I would basically be guaranteed to fail these rounds without months of grinding.
Do you think that given the fact that I have been doing the actual job well for a good chunk of time already that these would basically be formalities?
This would be a life-changing role from a salary perspective and I am not sure if I'm just anxious and overthinking it or if there is a real concern that I blow this all up in my face.
If anyone has faced similar or has any insight I'd really appreciate it!

 | So I picked up Harvest for my 7yo for Christmas because it looked adorable and she loves gardening and at the moment her life’s aspiration is to become a farmer. But let me tell you something, as a grown man I think I might love this game even more than she does. The asymmetrical sunrise/character powers get my gears turning before the game even starts, the limited actions per round make every wheelbarrow placement feel precious, and watching the other players at the table claim their actions (while crossing your fingers that they don’t take the spot you’ve got your eye on) will make you sweat bullets. In summary, this game stresses me out in the best way possible.  | Hey all, I have a 1986 2.5 NA that I’m having trouble starting. I bought it few months ago and drove it home 4 hours, and when I first bought it the guy told me plugs/battery was bad and we had to jump it to start it in the field it was in. Trucked home like a champ and didn’t get hot at all. It has sat for a few months and now I’m trying to start it in around 25-35F cold and it just won’t start. I daily drove it for the 1st month I had it and it always had trouble cold starting and sometimes I would have to put a crank charger on it to start in the mornings. I never cranked it more than 15-20secs as to not fry the starter. I had the battery tested and it was good, alternator was good, glow plugs have all been changed, all glow plugs get power when key is engaged, did a fuel system clean with LM purple diesel additive, replaced all fuel filters, compression is good, and I have confirmed I have fuel at the injectors by checking the hard lines. No air in the fuel system either the return line has 0 bubbles/air. When I crank it the motor spins and fires on 2-3 cylinders but just can’t get over the hump. The only thing I can think of now is that either A. The injectors need to be sent off to be cleaned, or B. The starter is tired and needs to be replaced. I am planning to remove the starter from another 86 190d 2.5 I have that was a STRONG runner when I daily’d it (auto trans sh*t itself) and throw it into the non runner. I am more suspicious of the starter as when I turn the key to off I can hear the starter “whine down” like it’s whirring or something. I dont know, it’s just a bit weird none of my other w201s ever made this noise and was something I noted when I first bought this one. Also for what it’s worth the previous owner has the wrong size battery in the car and I think it has more cranking amps than it should, don’t think this would cause a non start though. Does it sound like it could be the starter? Any injector cleaner recommendations? Also anyone have a manual transmission for my other w201 😆? Also don’t think I blew the HG as there’s no oil in coolant, oil isn’t milky, and I have compression. Any thoughts?
