2025.01.19 03:20 September75 Expecting severe cold weather. How do I coax in the neighborhood cats?
I've seen 2 different cats hanging around my porch and around the block in the last couple days. I've just started putting out some food for them. I've asked my neighbors and they don't seem to belong to anyone that they know of. We are expecting some dangerously low temperatures starting tomorrow and I'd love to take them in my house for a couple days and ideally take them to check for a microchip or get them neutered if they're not but they are pretty skittish. I left my door open for about 5 minutes while one was eating the food to see if it would come in but no dice. Maybe they'll risk it when it gets below 0. I've always wanted to rescue a cat, but how do I do it when they are so skittish?

Timeframe = 6th/7th/8th grade.. My parents started a trucking business and it was really struggling financially..so much so, my parents were barely making ends meat. During this time, we would go to Costco every weekend to have lunch/dinner. I always wanted a "loaded hotdog" The hotdog with ketchup, mustard, onions, relish, and my side of raspberry iced tea. My parents always let me refill my drink so I could take it home.. We would also share an ice cream more often then not. I would always brag how we went to Costco every weekend to go shopping and I always ate a hotdog on the way out. Obviously, my peers thought it was cool and I loved sharing how my parents spoiled me.
In hindsight, we always "walked around Costco" usually only buying basic necessities and went straight to the food court. As an adult, my mom told me that those were the days her and my dad struggled the MOST. I have the fondest memories of Costco.
It's all about perspective of course.. (We went to Costco every weekend because mine and my siblings schools fed us breakfast/lunch. So my parents only had to worry about dinner)

I'm personally making my own fangan and I'm not sure if I'll actually make it to the end, but i have lots of ideas in mind. I was just interested, what rooms and scenery or murder case circumstances do you find interesting? I just realized how many interesting places there could've been for a murder to take place and I already have interesting ideas. Like for an example: why not have a murder in some grassy field, maybe forest or a plant populated place that's open? Circumstances: maybe wild monokuma beasts lurking in the forest could've ripped the body up, maybe they fell and died? We're there footprints in the mud? There was a cave nearby that had something to do with the case maybe. how did they lure her out in the night, was the culprit someone they trusted? A cave could be a very interesting murder place on its own. That sort of thing, this will be a part of one of my cases (probably the first one)
Places murders have happened in the series:
Dorm Room, Locker room, Equipment room of the physics lab, dormitory of the art room, rec room, garden (not really, just the faked death, the real deth happened elsewhere), gym
Dining hall, beach house, music venue, fun house, factory

I've been going through personal matters (separation and then reconciliation) and now I see a therapist. So if anyone has ever visited a therapist, they'll ask background questions, how do you feel ect...
Well talking to my therapist, it has opened up my pain, past and present. I have childhood trauma for some reasons. One major part of it, I was picked on for being too big by my dad (Vietnamese) side of the family growing up. Pretty much as young as I could comprehend. Growing up Vietnamese/Mexican I was always called big/fat/ugly/pumpkin. Just hurtful things. I never felt comfortable seeing my aunts and uncles. My cousins were always kind, it was just their parents. I never understood why I did not look like them, or as petite as them, or as skinny as them. I never understood why I was never a size 0 or 2. Hell, I never knew why I was not as busty as them too. I remember one aunt telling me, your skin is fair and you could be pretty if you stopped eating so much. On another occasion I had an uncle tell me, keep losing weight, it'll make you look better. Then another occasion I was not invited to a cousin wedding unless I lose weight...and I did lose the weight...
At that moment, I thought all of this was normal family behavior. Then somewhere in my adulthood, I completely buried the pain, but that's never changed the way I view myself. Til this day I still want to be that perfect petite person, but my body is curvy. My shoulders are broad, I am wide, my hips are wide, my thighs are thick. I'm still short, but tall. But I cannot see myself being more than just fat.

Windows gives me solid 250 fps. Linux gives me 80 - 180 (average around 130 fps).
I'm running AMD Ryzen 9 3900X and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT on Fedora 41. I think gamemode helped a bit. I also have video settings turned lowest on Linux while Windows is medium or something.
Also on Linux sometimes I'll get really low FPS like 30 and have to restart mid-game.
Launch options: LD_PRELOAD="/uslib/libgamemodeauto.so.0" gamemoderun %COMMAND% -w 2560 -h 1440 -freq 144 -high -fullscreen
